Interesting, I have the opposite happen to my sims with drinks. The cups periodically vanish from their hands for no reason- whether they are finish or not.

Just to put it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Making Playable Ghosts on: 2009 June 24, 02:44:38
I was given this opportunity after stealing a gravestone; once you do this opportunity you have access to raise any ghost after that. Or at least I did; the bubble stays in the menu of the science building from then on.

Give me scroll wheel or give me death?

To aid those who do not scroll wheel, would it be possible to have two versions of AWESOMEMOD- one for the wheel inclined and one for those stuck in the stone age?
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Wishes that don't fulfill on: 2009 June 16, 16:52:19
In my experience, the 'get more muscular' wish never fulfills. Though I think my sims only ever get it when they reach the max their bodies can handle so...
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: House move fail on: 2009 June 15, 21:08:03
Beware when switching house holds; you will lose anything stored in the fridge. Sucks when you have a large harvest of lifefruit and death fish stored in there. If you want your main lot to keep anything stored on objects, make sure to move them into a personal pocket as well.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hidden Items on: 2009 June 14, 07:10:02
My Master thief Sim didn't get a fox statue.  She got a couple of stupid paintings on different heists, but they were lame.

That's very interesting... I wonder if the rewards for career-upping in the thief- or even the criminal career as a whole- are random; perhaps based on skills or some hidden trait?
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Hidden Items on: 2009 June 12, 02:50:20
I am curious to know just how many hidden items, décor or functional, exist in the game; achieved either through skills, career advancement, or dumb luck. Excluding the ones we know of, space rocks, gems, metals, Mr. Mystery Gnome and the achievement wall-hangings for mastering a skill, what all is out there?

The one which sparked my interested was a small golden fox carrying a satchel which is acquired from reaching Master Thief- the tenth rank for the thief path in the criminal career.

I would love to have a list compiled of the hidden items, and where to get them, so please do not hesitate to make additions. Screenshots of the items would be darling, but I understand it is not always possible.

Does gossip actually make it around the neighborhood now?

It does! I've noticed very little gossip which I did not create- beyond of course 'X is rich!' or 'Y is broke! Laugh at their pathetic life choices!'. Though I have gotten some incest and cheating ones which I did not cause, though the break-up gossip seems to only reflect my nefarious actions.

Gossip also seems to exclude anything relating to job-action, kleptomania, or other good produced (books, paintings and produce); though I could be mistaken, but I have not noticed any of those topics come up.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Objects I miss on: 2009 June 11, 19:07:48
I won't bother reiterating the objects missed by others (musical instruments); but I personally miss the selection of medium to large indoor plants; right now there is one (a tree) and two medium sized potted plants. I adore greenery and find it makes fantastic décor, but at the moment I am struggling to make rooms look unique given the lack of superfluous plant- and other- décor.

Also, not an object, but I really miss the male pregnancy mod… because I don't play females.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is it only my sims, or they all actually like to flirt with anything that mo on: 2009 June 11, 18:48:49
I've been playing Riverview for a few days now and noticed that independent relationships are much rarer than they were in Sunset Valley. So far the only changes in relationships I've noticed are the ones I broke up!

Also: as flawed as the jealousy thing may be, when I had my sims break up Yuri and his wife, both the wife and the kids had my sim as nemesis. At least that seems a bit more realistic!
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Smelly Sims on: 2009 June 10, 20:32:56
I've defiantly noticed that, without my poking, sims will not interact with smelly sims; of course, if you tell your sim to do it, he will- albeit begrudgingly.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sex on: 2009 June 07, 17:58:25
Is there an "ask to move in" on the Romance menu? I had my Sim get engaged to Cycl0n3 and there still wasn't one popping up. I wound up finding it in the "friendly" menu after building up the interactions for awhile.

Indeed; the 'ask to move in' option drops down in the friendly tab- however, if you are in a deep unromantic moment with another sim- despite it being in a different tab- the option to 'ask to move in' should appear in the friendly tab. Though, much as you mentioned Seana, options do not always pop up- as with you not being able to WooHoo. If you find you can not get the 'ask to move in', try queuing a bunch of friendly actions until it appears.

Seana, if you manually have both your gals 'relax' in bed, do you get the option to WooHoo?
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Poor Body Textures Outside of CAS on: 2009 June 07, 08:10:36
My only complaint thus far graphics wise would probably be that no matter how hard you work your sim, they will never get abs; seriously, I was very disappointed.

Though I have noticed the occasional texture fuck up- when playing around with terrain I get mysterious flying water and of course the already establish texture issues when sims face water. Other than that, I think it looks great; and my PC has no where near the awesomeness which you described Kiki. How much did that laptop set you back?
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Gardening and fertilizing on: 2009 June 05, 06:21:14
Death flowers are only supposed to get one harvest, unless your Sim has the green thumb trait (whatever it's actually called), and then they can revive it once more.

This is what I noticed happened; though I was unsure why.

Revival also seems to have a 50% success rate, though I've only been given the option to use it on Death Flowers.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Gardening and fertilizing on: 2009 June 05, 05:14:56
Not so much a gardening question per say, but is some what to do with food...
How does one mix foods? eg: Apple Cobbler and other wishes sims have. I have no idea.
Some one mentioned it in another thread, but didn't actually say how it was done.

Just make sure you have apples in the fridge; I find that different foods you can make will randomly select something in your fridge, though I am unsure if it will do the same should your fridge be empty.

On the note of gardening: what are peoples experiences with Death Flowers? I find I get one or two harvests off of them before they die, which strikes me as odd because that is quite short in comparison with other plants.

If it causes them to burst into flames on contact, it might actually be worth buying!
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 03, 21:18:41
Has anyone seen the magician in action? I keep coming across him in town, but I've yet to see him do anything... magiciany.

I also saw one; thought it was some kind of joke actually, but when I questioned him- I was looking for people to write up you see- he was all "I'm a magician! Whoosh!"

Of course he did not do anything either and when I finished my inquisition he took a taxi home. Rather disappointing.

19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 02, 05:47:39

The ‘official' Casanova does not even look like he could swoon the pants off a dead guy, let alone a living one. You would think that an ‘official' TS3 product would have better looking sims.

Though after reviewing their purchasable hairstyles I think I should reconsider where I am placing my confidence.

20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Experiment: Opportunities and Community Lots. Need volunteers. on: 2009 June 01, 22:30:02
Name of Opportunity:Outstanding Tasting Ingredients.
1) Deliver three outstanding or better fruits or vegetables to Adam Summer to earn some money. Resulted in 700$, you are unable to select the fruits you turn in if you are carrying more than three of outstanding or better quality.
2) Unemployed.
3) At home tending to his over-sized garden.
4) Brave, Loves the Outdoors, Technophobe, Green Thumb, Athletic.
5) Logic 4; Athletic 10; Cooking 4; Fishing 7; Gardening 10; Guitar 3; Handiness 2.
6) Unemployed.
7) Young Adult.
9 ) Mood: Very Happy. Moodlets: Having a Blast, One with Nature.
9) N/A.
10) Adam Summer, one of my other sims who is on a different lot and thus not active; 40%~ at friend status.
11) Owned the local market- the one between the theater and the bistro.

The interesting thing for this is that Adam Summer is another sim I made; as in not native to the neighborhood. I was previously unaware that inactive households could give active ones opportunities.

Fantastic! A way to get rid of unwanted children without the pesky negative moodlets.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 30, 19:04:36
As bored as I used to get of the 'special event' cutscenes, I now realize how much they brought to TS2, and I miss them. One of many reasons these Sims feel more robotic and way less organic.

I feel the exact same way; I kind of enjoyed getting those cut scenes, now that I think about it. With TS3 I keep trying to get them too, hoping that maybe my sim just did not have enough in common with one sim or maybe my sim was not attracted to the other sim. I did not realize however, that they- the cut scenes- had been removed; I am a bit disappointed now… the little dingle of music on ‘first kiss' interaction is hardly equivalent in terms of dynamic and dramatic sensation.

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet... maids are recurring for me, no matter which household it is. I can call them once and they'll come, but after that they don't come again until I call them. Newspapers pile up for a week.

They worked at first, but over the course of the hours I've put into the neighborhood they've become borked.

It is interesting that you mention that- there was a in game pop up that said not all maids work as hard as they should… maybe this is how EA decided to deal with a bad code?

Blah blah.

To borrow a quote from the beautiful Patrick Bateman, I fail to see how this is my problem.

Waffle/woolgathering.

Thanks for sharing? I'm confused as to why you would bother telling us this though.
No reason, really.
I mean, there's no links to actual porn and allegedly we can't Google this porn star, so what's the point?

Or was that a rhetorical statement?

Oh my! The first one with Leo was one I didn't have, thanks so much! (And it is nice to see someone else uses the same porn torrent site I use, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.)

Seems like nobody mentioned yet that the Store is up, along with Riverview.

Sims 3 Store

*waits*

Wow. Just wow. Now I know the new trend for video games is to have a lot of ‘extra' stuff you can go buy- profits for the company- but this is just ridiculous; absolutely absurd. To have the gall to put so many items up for sale right off the bat is insulting! Much of the fun- that I have anyways- in The Sims is being able to decorate like a mad man and have access to lots of different hair and clothing to keep at least a semblance of uniqueness to my sims; this however is beyond greedy. The game itself- mind you the ‘official' copy might have more items in it, but I highly doubt it- feels devoid of décor and options therein! Decorating a single house is a nightmare without putting up doubles of various items, let alone trying to do an entire neighbourhood!

This is a terrible direction for TS3 to be taken, especially given the prices of the items- perhaps if they were significantly slashed, you know a few cents each, then I would have less of an issue here, but as it stands I am insulted; no, beyond insulted; I am bloody well offended and disgusted by this repugnant direction EA has taken.

On the bight side, I can only hope that the community- beyond the pay sites- will come together as a few have mentioned here to… deal with EA and their cohorts.
