If you disable Supreme Commander, can you then uninstall AwesomeMod? I'm not planning on doing so anytime soon, but it would be good to know.
From Pescado's warning, it would appear not. I suspect, from a very uneducated point of view, that Supreme Commander alters game files in some way that would cause VBTs if AwesomeMod were no longer present. WARNING! Supreme Commander is experimental and permanent! Once you turn it on, uninstalling AwesomeMod may destroy your neighborhood! Once you start down the path of the Dark Side, forever will it dominate your destiny. (bolding mine)

If I install it and find I don't like it, is it easy to uninstall and will there be any lasting impressions on the game when it's restored or would it require a complete reinstall of Sims 3?
If you don't enable Supreme Commander, you can just remove the hack and all will be fine. However, according to the posts in the AwesomeMod thread, enabling Supreme Commander pretty much means you have to keep AwesomeMod in, or risk completely borking your game. What Emma said.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 - Anyone see a child skill building hack?
|

There are a few things that aren't marked as skill building, such as almost all of the children's books. Off the top of my head, kids can develop writing, logic, and art skills by reading the toddler books, but you don't really discover it until they start skill building as children or higher. For example, when a child that read the appropriate (or appropriate number of?) books as a toddler merely clicks on a computer, their writing skill jumps to level 3 or 4 instantaneously, with a message that it's a result of their toddler reading habits. Logic goes to level 4 instead of the level 3 that can be reached through the peg box. All the books in the Children section of the bookstore with the exception of the Jimmy Sprocket books appear to carry some sort of skill building benefit.

What is it that makes the playable ghosts especially boring? Can't they do the same things as every other sim?
That's what makes them boring. They're pretty much just see-through Sims, with no neat, ghostly quirks. Fine as Sims, boring as ghosts.

Does anyone know whether adding more than one of a particular rabbithole causes any issues? I'm thinking specifically of schools - even in a mildly populated hood, there are significant bottlenecks with students getting into the school each day. I am wondering whether adding another school would fix that at all.

No stopping the random move-outs then?
I have a feeling they don't see that as a bug, but as a "feature". Which is why I'm not even bothering with the patch - Pescado has already fixed the actual bugs, as well as the ones EA put in on purpose.

familyfunds doesnt seem to work for me when iam under the edit town section. Do i have to select the person first or do i just have to type in anyones last name at is in the bin. I did make a new person who doesnt have a house yet but it doesnt seem to work at all. Someone please tell me exactly where in edit town to place the code and write it out exactly as it should be
They have to have a house first. Just move them into an empty lot. Do the familyfunds lastname thing... then move them to where you really want them to live. So move them to an empty lot. type familyfunds newdude 50000 and they'll have $50,000 (assuming their lastname is newdude). I found a way to shortcut this which I knew I should have written down, but I believe it was something like doing the familyfunds cheat, going through the steps of merging them into a household, but then cancelling, which updated their funds. I'll try it again when I start up the game and see if I am remembering correctly. Can't seem to replicate this, so ignore my idiotic ramblings.

I always wondered what happened to food trash on community lots. There aren't any NPC janitors, so the plates and baskets just go poof after a while?
The game resets community lots every day at 3am. All garbage poofs, items stolen by klepto Sims have a chance of returning. There was an early build of AwesomeMod that seemed to bork this but the problem has long been fixed.

Finished the Bathe Anywhere package, found a few files I missed.Removed the "InappropriateForVisitor" value for sitting on the toilet & in the bathtub.Updated file in 1st post.
Would you be willing and able to extend that to repairs? It annoys me that my skilled tinkerers get told off for lending a helping hand by fixing stuff at other Sims' homes.

The community lots do not reset every day, at least not in my experience. I've played two kelptos heavily and it appears they reset about every three to four sim days. The only thing I can think that might make this deifferent between our games is I usually play with long/epic lifespan or with aging off. If you play on something shorter perhaps they reset more often?
I believe there is a level of chance involved in whether stuff gets regenerated each night.

I wonder if it's similar to the skilling-by-TV bug that I spotted once. If a Sim was watching, say, the cooking channel, and another Sim sat down to play video games, the skilling Sim would keep skilling. Even as they went around doing other things, they'd be gaining skill. Perhaps there is the same sort of bug at play here, where the action doesn't get closed cleanly, and so keeps on going, blocking all other social progress.
Have you tried resetsim to see if that fixes it?

Erm, this question may seem silly, but I wanted to know if it is cheating to change lifetime wants or traits of Founder with lifetime happiness points. I'm pretty sure that even thought it isn't stated clearly changing the traits is verboten, but I decided it wouldn't hurt to ask.
As said before, if you don't like how your rolls turned out, you can purchase the "Mid Life Crisis" perk to get a shot at re-rolling your traits.
I'd say it's fair game.

DANG. Now I just confused myself. Even with zero charisma, you can get promoted, just not too quickly, eh?
Correct. None of the metrics are hard-and-fast requirements, just contributors (or detractors) from overall work performance. With all other factors maxed, and especially with perks like "Multi Tasker" stacked on, even having one factor at the lowest level won't keep you from progressing through the career.

I noticed that jobs have the 'need X amount of friends' for getting ahead. Any chance of a 'no friends needed' mod coming out? What jobs have a friend count requirement? I haven't tried all the career tracks through to the end, but I have never seen a friend count requirement. The most I have seen is a "relationship with coworkers/boss" requirement.

I just installed the newest build and the lag issue seems much better. Had I not been watching 1am come and go, I might not have noticed the tiny hiccup that occurred. That's especially remarkable considering the game itself is running really slowly for me because my computer really needs to be rebooted. I tested two nights in a row.

It's weird though - this has started happening to me recently, like the past 2 days or so, but never before that.
I'm talking to the walls. This has been discussed (to friggin death) in the Request thread. The changes that are causing the lag are new. Therefore the lag is new. You didn't experience before 2 days ago, because the Story Progression changes didn't exist before 2 days ago.
