51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Launcher has suddenly decided to stop working... on: 2009 July 09, 09:36:45
Turns out it actually is an Awesomemod issue... I moved Awesomemod away from the mods folder and tried installing something and it worked. I guess I'll just move Awesomemod when I need to install something until the bug gets fixed.

It may be the fact that you say you don't have the patch.  AwesomeMod requires the patch.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: No steak plants for me?! on: 2009 July 09, 09:33:47
The omni plant can grow all sorts of random crap, not just fruit, meat and cheese either, it can grow fish or even teddy bears!  Grin

Don't forget books - it can be quite lucrative if you buy some of the more expensive books and start cloning them.

CTRL-SHift-C to bring up the cheat console.

Type "resetsim firstname lastname" without the quotes, and replacing firstname lastname with the Sim's actual first name and last name.  They'll respawn somewhere near their front door, hopefully corrected.
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch released. on: 2009 July 07, 13:27:17
In the interest of fairness, I will point out that in South Africa, downloading the game is actually not a less expensive alternative to buying it outright, since the price for 5.5 gigs worth of bandwidth exceeds the actual price of the game, and even the fastest DSL connection is slow.  Paying someone the equivalent of about $8 USD for their pirated version does make financial sense here.

Paying money for a pirated version of the NON-RETAIL version, however, is stupid.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch released. on: 2009 July 07, 09:41:55
The point is, if you have version .615, you either did not buy it but are too much of an idiot to admit it, or you are an idiot and bought it from a flea market that happily took your money for the non-retail version.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What 5 Buy Mode objects would you like Modders to make first? on: 2009 July 07, 09:34:45
How do you get that to happen? I've sent horny young couples on tours together but nothing happened...

Once they enter the building, click on the building again and the option should be available.
57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Refrigerator Portal - how does it work? on: 2009 July 06, 18:39:19
You may want to ask this in the AwesomeMod section - as far as I am aware, this is not a normal feature of the game.
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Sharing inventory on: 2009 July 05, 17:13:26
Keeps up right until child even. I should check if childish teens and elder also get the buff.

Childish adults get the buff, so I'd imagine they carry it through to elderhood as well.

Heh, she probably bought it at a flea market where people will very happily sell you ARRed goods.  Every flea market in SA has at least 10 vendors hawking poorly burned CDs with badly photocopied covers.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch released. on: 2009 July 02, 06:20:52
Can somebody please help me.  Pretty please.

If someone has the answer, and wants to share it, they will.  Asking three times does not magically make people willing to help.
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Making a better face skin... on: 2009 July 02, 05:13:49
I have to agree that the color looks quite a bit like fake tan.  That might be accentuated by the contrast between the face and body, but I don't think the color will appeal to me.
62  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 01, 20:00:15
They are indeed supposed to go off to the bedroom to do it.  They'll even get impatient if the other one takes too long, and holler for them to join them.  It does get fairly easily queue-stomped though - Sims are apparently ADD when it comes to getting some.
63  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 01, 19:37:43
I'm with Pes, I have never seen this option in game, and I've had my sims stand there for hours romancing each other.

It seems to take more social foreplay to pop up compared to when it appears in bed, but it's definitely there - if you can get the other Sim to think the active Sim is "extremely irresistible", the options to woo hoo and try for baby should appear shortly afterwards.
64  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 01, 19:15:05

Sims can woohoo while standing up? How does one trigger such a thing normally? I have never seen this.

The option to woohoo is available as part of the conversation tree (while the Sims are standing), as opposed to only available when in bed.
65  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 01, 15:32:35
Would they not be fed once hunger gets really low? In the careers they do occasionally get fed but only when hunger is really low, and even then not always, and the jail seems to behave the same as a work shift only without any performance or money gain.

Nope, I've had to cheat hunger levels up before.  As for careers, hunger motive usually gets boosted at the same time each day (whatever that job's lunch hours are), not based on hunger motive.
66  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 01, 13:55:24
Now to just make the jail time longer. Perhaps a a few days instead of the half day or quarter day that it does which is more an inconvenience then a punishment.

Unless the issue of Sims apparently not getting fed in jail is also fixed, this could be a pain in the ass.  Not that I actually care, since I don't have the pedobear option enabled; just pointing it out for those who do.

Am I missing something in that pic?  Parents woohooing while their kids sleep is parenting fail?
Kids... sex, you don't get it?  Sad

Um, I hate to break it to you, since your profile says you're a 12, but... parents have sex.  As the previous poster says, it's where brothers and sisters come from.

69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Making Playable Ghosts on: 2009 June 30, 18:34:25

Nah, they have the autonomous Scare action. I brought one back and he keeps scaring his daughter.

Yes, but that's autonomous.  When actually playing them, they have the same options as fleshbound Sims.  From a gameplay point of view, they're no different.
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Household Member Disappeared on: 2009 June 30, 14:50:50
If you move a Sim (any Sim from a different household or from the bin) into the house and then back out, the missing husband should reappear by the mailbox.  At least, this works for fixing babies and toddlers that disappear in this way.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Tuning XML Data - (Traits, Rewards, Plants, etc.) on: 2009 June 30, 14:35:29
The Large Space Rock has been dubbed the Zucabr rock by some, due to some amusing pictures Zucabr posted of one.
72  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 June 29, 22:30:52
Yes - for example, runstoryaction MoveInHousehold. When that didn't work, I tried adding in family names, lot names, using single quotes, double quotes, <>, etc. When I tried runstoryaction Create and Move In, it did not work - the error message said it could not be validated.

I have almost everything enabled in my Awesomemod config. The only things not enabled are robotic hand of God, censors, TS2 aging, 12 woohoo, and the CAS slider scale. Any ideas? I can load the game later and take some screenshots, if that would be helpful.

Based on Pescado's actual post, it's possible that only "Create Household" works - that one works fine for me, while none of the others do.  Alternatively, it could be that the action generates a random potential event, and the "Failed!" means the action actually just failed - for instance, GetJob may have grabbed a Sim that already had a job, thus the action would fail.  I tried testing this by running GetJob over and over, but it failed every time, so this is sheer speculation.  My hunch is that only Create Household works.
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Wash your @#$%ing hands! No toilet geniuses! Some Toilet Mods on: 2009 June 29, 17:44:34
It sucks when neurotic sims want to brush three times for 100 wish points.  Sad

I usually don't fulfill those for the points, but for the moodlets they get - combined with a pre-work or school freak out, it makes for a nice, content Sim.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Wash your @#$%ing hands! No toilet geniuses! Some Toilet Mods on: 2009 June 29, 07:53:19
Yeah, that's why I use my sleeve. It cracks me up when I see someone take so much care to wash their hands thoroughly, then touch a towel dispenser knob that's been around the block and back, then grasp a door handle with their hands that a bunch of dirty-handed kids and adults have just touched.

I used to worry about that, then I realized that 2 minutes later, I'm going to go back to my table, pull out a chair that has been touched by god knows how many people (many of whom used the door handle in the restroom) and I'm going to look at the menu that's been handled by countless strangers, and so on.
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Work Performance Facts on: 2009 June 28, 22:25:09
Can you switch tones while at work and have both (or more) of them do any good?  For example, I had a businessman who had pouty faces in both the "hold meetings" area and the "co-workers" area.  I started him off holding meetings but then switched to hanging out by the water cooler.  Hanging out at the water cooler didn't seem to help at all.  Maybe I switched too late?

Switching works fine - I frequently have Sims switch tones at school and at work.  It is entirely possible that you switched too late in the day for enough benefit to build up.
