1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sound Issues Paradise Island on: 2013 September 18, 13:38:20
I don't have IP but I've had this issue since Seasons. I only ever notice it when there is a lot of rain or snow. Because of that I made all my seasons except Summer very short. I doubt this have anything to do with AM because I've never had this prob on my dinosaur laptop with AM and a ton of other mods installed. After i switched to a newer computer and finally installed Seasons the problem started. I'll try lowering the sound quality like someone up thread suggested and see if that makes a difference.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 October 30, 23:24:27
I've been searching all day and still can't find an answer, so here goes: The version of AM I was using expired and I'm not sure which one to install, my game version is: 4 0 87. The version I was using would throw out a non-critical core mismatch warning at me but it worked fine with no problems. I've downloaded allversions of AM but no sure which to use or if I have to wait for a compatible version. **hope someone answer soon I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms**
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / I need help with new PC Specs on: 2010 January 07, 17:35:47
I need some help finding a new computer. The Sims 3 fried my new laptop and my 3 year old desktop within 3 months of installing. The computer techs said my motherboard and the AC are done and they've never seen anything like that before  Roll Eyes. Anyways, I'm buying a new one even though I know it's going to be ruined. So I'm asking for help with deciding on a cheap computer that will give great (or as great as cheap can get) performance. This is what I have so far:

Dell Studio Desktop
PROCESSOR   Intel® Pentium® dual-core E5300 (2MB L2, 2.6GHz, 800FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEM   Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
MEMORY   8GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4DIMMs
HARD DRIVE   500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
OPTICAL DRIVE   16X DVD+/-RW Drive
VIDEO CARD   Integrated Intel® GMA X4500HD Graphics
SOUND   Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio

Dell Inspiron 546 MT
PROCESSOR   AMD Phenom™ II X4 820 (2.8GHz, 6MB)
OPERATING SYSTEM   Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic SP1, 32-Bit
MEMORY   4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 4 DIMMs
HARD DRIVE   750GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
OPTICAL DRIVE   16X DVD+/-RW Drive
VIDEO CARD   Integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics
SOUND   Integrated 5.1 Channel Audio

Any recommendations (I'm interested in hearing about other brands as well)  would be great. I only need it for The Sims 2 & 3. TIA
Also, do I have to get Vista or lower to run the game?
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 29, 21:05:11
Hi, I'm a long time lurker, here to annoy you ...

I noticed at least one person mention that they were playing Sims 3 on a laptop - so, for those of you who've been using one, I'm curious - is it a super spectacular gaming laptop, or just a really good regular laptop?

Also, thanks to everyone who's taken the time to post pictures.  They rock.
I'm using a regular laptop. I initially installed it on my desktop, but even though I installed all the Sims 2 games, the graphics were crappy and it ran slow. I have all EPs and Sps of Sims 2 still installed on my laptop and The Sims 3 still runs very smooth with all settings on high.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 26, 02:55:19
I'm really warming up to this game. I even accepted my first opportunity, and, even though I hate mini games, it really wasn't so bad. Gave me a little break from regular game play. I love the town more than anything, and I especially like to make my Sim go jogging at night. The town looks so beautiful under all those stars:

Questions: When you set up 3 different outfits for each category, is your Sim suppose to automatically cycle them or do I have to direct her to change every single time?

2) How the hell are you guys juggling work, social life and collecting?  Huh Jobs are so much harder. I'm not use to my Sims being so poor. And to top it off, she's always so busy with work related stuff that she's already gone through an entire life stage without making friends! She's about to be old and she's still a virgin, lol. So, how are you guys doing this? Skipping work, maybe?
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 26, 00:09:30
The way I am looking at it, the "open neighbourhood" is more like real life - you have no control over what the "townies" do.  You have control only in your family.  This increases the amount of random stuff your sims will have to deal with (neighbours having spawn, dying, marrying your sim's boyfriend, etc.).  This either adds challenge or total annoyance.  For now, I am choosing to see TS3 as a different game, not a progression from TS2.
Agreed. I decided to start this game with an open mind to the new style of playing (I refuse to let mini games dictates my Sims lives though, lol). But my game wont do any of that stuff!! No spawning, deaths, etc. Arrgh, so frustrating to here others complain about not wanting, when that was exactly what I was looking for and my game refuses to co-operate.  Angry
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 25, 19:17:01
Mine is the opposite of everyone else's. No spawning, marriages, moving-in or out and so far no deaths. Is that even possible? I tried toggling it but nothing changes. So far I only see townies aging.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 25, 18:58:37
I need help, the new daemon tools installs spyware/whatever, right? Can someone link me to an older version. Im racking my brain trying to get the game to install again and there's nothing that I've used before. If not daemon tools and something else please make sure its spyware free and doesnt install anything extra. I plan to remove the program once installation is complete Smiley.
Thankss Smiley
I used this one because I was afraid of the daemon: http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm

It was so easy. I just right click the icon on my desktop> create Virtual CD/DVD Rom> Mount> and then locate and select the file that had ISO at the end.

She's very pretty SimplyComplex. How did you manage not to get the horrible double chin?
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 25, 18:27:23

The real question is, which one were you aiming for - a pussycat doll or a bratz doll?

Neither  Undecided I used one of my pics. That's the best I could do without looking like a bobble head.

What the heck is  Batz doll anyways? I know who the pussycat dolls are...

ETA: never mind, I googled it. Lol they look an awful lot like the new sims.  Um, maybe that's where EAXIS got the idea from.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: No censor hack for TS3 on: 2009 May 25, 15:51:31
Whoever makes the first Bust Control Slider gets a prize.
I second that. I could not believe the itty bittys mosquito bites my simself had. Angry
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 25, 15:29:36
After 2+ hours (I love CAST!)I've finally finishes my first Sim that's not as ugly as EAXIS', but for the life of me, I can't get rid of that disgusting double chin. It looks OK for fat Sims but weird on the skinny ones. I'm so not attached to this sims as I am to my Sims 2 ones. Undecided

I got bore pretty quick because I'm not into all those mini games and collecting. I did however stay up all night decorating houses. So far that's the only part of the game that make me want to even turn it on.

Also, I played for about 3 Sim weeks but didn't get any of these messages in the news paper that you guys are getting. All I got were notices about eating contests, Sales and so on. No deaths, births, marriages or move-ins/outs. I even tried playing a whole week with Story progressing unticked; still nada. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

The most that has happen was the Goths aging up. I'm guessing others families aged too but those were the only ones I saw.

EDITED: To resize IMG and also to add that I was disappointed she looked nothing like that in game.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 25, 03:57:42

There is no exe file in the crack folder. Only the launcher and the app to generate the key. There is however, a TS3.exe file in the 'bin' folder. Is this the one you were referring to?

The file that is TS3.exe in the crack folder, that is the crack, what do you mean launcher? What is the file extension on that? The TS3.exe file in the BIN folder is the original. You want to replace the original .exe with the one from the crack folder. If your crack folder does not have one for some reason, there is a link in my signature. That link has the crack and keygen that came with my game rared up and uploaded.

Edit: the Adaptive anti-aliasing was causing the floating sim head-hair issue. My benches also have messed up distance textures, they're half-way complete up close, any further and the textures are garbage. Anyone know where the textures are stored and if it has to do with the CRC error I had while installing? This is not a GFX card problem, it is a file problem.
Ahh, thanks a bunch, because my crack folder didn't have that file. It's up and running now

I have no idea how I did it, but I've finally managed to install. Now a new problem; a message pops up saying the game needs to connect to the internet to verify my copy. How do I bypass this?
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 24, 15:09:26
After 50 mins I was up to %56 with 129 people trying to connect and my service shut down. Now I'm freaked out and too scared to try again Embarrassed. I'm such a noob. Any tips on helping me how to be more awesome?

Does your connection run through a router? Sometimes that much traffic will make it quit after a while; you just need to reboot the router to get going again.
Yes it does. I finally "woman- up" and got it done. lol.

OK so do I open all the files or just the ones that say WinRAR Archive; there are 31 named "rld-sims3?  There are files with R40, R31 and so on; what do I do with those.

Also, for some graphical glitches, and some good laughs, I have some screenshots. I noticed while planning my toddlers outfit, when I spun her around, her eyes were black in the mirror, it was very creepy. Her eyes are actually green, and when facing the mirror they turned black. All my settings are maxed, so its not an issue with that.
<snip imgs>
Maybe her eyes are black because she's evil. Doubt that's what it is, but that would have been cool, ha-ha. The other pics reminds me of that weird glitch in Sims 2 with the toddlers teeth hanging from the bottom of their chins. Gross!

Second batch of reasons why I love this game (now with non-lolcaptions!):

<snip>
None of your links are working for me.

Has anyone used MagicISO Tool before? http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm

Can this one be used instead of Daemon? This site (http://www.petri.co.il/mount_iso_files_in_windows_vista.htm) claims that Daemon has spy-ware and I would rather not take any chances.
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 24, 00:59:14
They way some things have to be done is driving me nuts. My sim had a want to take a bubble bath. So I send her to the tub, and there is no option for bubble bath..wtf? I had to send her shopping to buy bubble bath, then place the bottle on the tub in order for the option to appear. That's too many steps just to take a damn bath.

I actually think that's kind of cool! I always wanted that sort of thing in the Sims 2. I'm an odd player, my sims have to go out to get stuff, no changing their hair at home, only at a salon. No getting groceries delivered, most people don't do that and so on.
I play the same way too, so I can see myself easily fallen in love with most of the "features" that annoy others.

Edited: Because my keyboard sucks
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 24, 00:49:30
It looks fine to me. You don't need to uninstall TS2; you have plenty of free space.
Ok, thanks. Now I need to do a lot of reading before I attempt to Arr anything. I'm just not that awesome I'm afraid.

Could someone please help me? I know nothing about computers and I'm not sure what info you will need to advise me so I'll post everything.

I need to know if my computer is good enough to run this game at the best settings. And if not, what will I need to upgrade.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w319/htsmama/2.jpg
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w319/htsmama/3.jpg
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w319/htsmama/4-1.jpg

Other info: It's a year and couple months old and running on Vista. I have no problem playing Sims 2 with all EPs, SPs and 2.33 GB of downloads on all high settings. Well, except for the 10 minutes loading time to fire up the game. Other than that; no lagging and community lots load in 30 secs or less.

Another question: Would I need to uninstall all the Sims 2 games to get it running smoothly? TIA
