1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 21, 16:25:45
Dear EA Games,

I hate you.

Yours Truly,
Everyone.

====
Ug, I'm such an idiot for not checking forums before I installed a patch from EA. You would think I would know better by now.

Not to add insult to injury , but didn't you learn that from the TS2 days? I know I did
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 2.3+CC bullshit. I refuse to reinstall AGAIN. on: 2009 December 21, 16:19:35
I feel for you man. I learned from TS2 that you always wait to see the results of any ea patch before introducing it to your game.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: World Adventures Mods folder setup, and What works and what does not on: 2009 November 20, 17:29:28
To use mods and .package CC for WA, follow these instructions to setup Mods folders inside your WA installation.

I have heard from various places and forums that certain things do work with WA, some even still functioning in the old place (inside The Sims 3 installation). I have moved mods and package CCs to the new place, so I wouldn't know about their functionality in the old place.

The following is a list of mods and CC that are working for me. More will be added back gradually. If you have seen your CC working, please report here so that everybody else can benefit.

Mods:
dD-Less_Blue_Nights DARKER (does not crash game, but looks wonky in game at night)
dD-Longer_Shadows

CC:
Melissa_RabbitHoles (community versions)
Melissa_Weddingpodium
Melissa_RefrigeratorSmallStarter
Melissa_BabyPram
Sims Lulamai - Castle Build Set
Partner Window by Leesester
_cII_Grey Cobblestone TP  - terrain paint
_cII_Tan Cobblestone TP   - terrain paint
Jill Wong Modern Column
Backless cheap shower
berceau simple   - Custom crib
*Remarks: That's all CC I have put back in. They are all working. That makes me think maybe many many more will still work, but I need to add more back: clothes, hair, patterns, etc.

Programs:
The Sims 3 QuickCheat.exe (i.e., Sims 3 Auto Cheater. You Need to modify Commands.ini to point to WA exe.
             Example: [EXEPath]
                          Location = O:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures\Game\Bin\TS3EP01.exe)

Mods that have been updated or supposedly should work (but I haven't put them back in):
NRaas Industries (Twallan's announcement: mods marked as "Patch 1.6.6" are compatible with (1) Base Game Patch 1.6.6 and 1.7.9 (2) World Adventures Patch 2.1.6 and 2.2.8.)
Ingeli's medieval career mod
Buzzler's The Aging Manager, The Birth Control Mirror, updated.
Food, road (heard from some forum, probably custom food and road default replacement. I don't use them.)
Breast sliders (heard from MTS forum. I don't use it.)

Non-compatible:
No Mosaic Mod (See post #15)

[Edited, pushed wrong keys.]
[Edited, adding more.]
[Edited dD-Less_Blue_Nights DARKER]

Thanks for postign this Lion. Twallan's mods aren't working for me, maybe this will fix it

Is there a crack for the 1.4 version now
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 June 09, 11:57:35
My game only runs for 10 - 20 minutes before my computer shuts down. I thiiiink it might be an overheating problem but I have no idea how I would tell if that's actually the case, or fix it if it were. My computer has never done this before, so I'm a bit confused about it. The game runs perfectly fine up until the computer turns off. I have the Razor copy, patched, running from a no-cd crack, and my computer exceeds minimum specifications. It's died all five times I've tried playing since install (my poor sim has only managed to live one sim day so far). Any suggestions?

eta: Just tried it again and this time it lasted less than five minutes. Argh annoying.

If you're comfortable going inside your computer, open the case. Check and make sure your fans are running. If they are leave the cover off and see how long it runs. If it runs without shutting down then you most likey have a overheating problem and need to buy a case fan
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Custom musics? on: 2009 June 08, 17:10:59
I removed the default  songs when I put my own in there, since there's no options to change song
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 under Windows 7 on: 2009 June 05, 14:04:42
And the beauty about UAC is that you can turn it down or off with out having to reboot the PC.

My Windows 7 RC 7100 still makes me reboot when I turn off UAC.  Well, it doesn't make me reboot on the spot, it's like Vista where it says changes won't take place until after I reboot.

same here
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: REAL Final Version on: 2009 June 05, 14:02:56
I downloaded the RZR version but haven't installed it. The RLD version works just fine and I was able to install Riverview and the Prius with the launcher with no problems
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Extreme difficulty in killing sims by fire? on: 2009 June 05, 13:59:53
I'm glad they made it that way. I can't tell you how many of my stupid ts2 sims kept dying because they kept panicking and running right into the fire
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 02, 19:56:15
I have to admit. I'm getting a rather perverse thrill reading the modthesims2 forum. Apparently they're finding out we haven't been playing a "beta" the last 2 weeks  Grin
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Downloading Anything for sims 3 on: 2009 June 02, 17:38:58

12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Razor1911 release vs. Reloaded release on: 2009 June 01, 16:31:38
I have a few questions I just downloaded the The_Sims_3-Razor1911.torrent and it all went well and I just unzipped it. Now it's an ISO so what do I need the crack for if I'm mounting it with Daemon Tools and installing it? The game is always going to think there's a CD in the drive anyway. What is the purpose of this The Sims 3 Crackfix?

Even though it's mounted, without the crack the game will ask for the cd. The crack bypasses the cd check
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 June 01, 13:31:41
Not all ATI Radeons - my HD 4870 is running TS3 RLD version just fine, thanks. With everything turned up full.

The same here with my 4670. I don't have everything on high, but I have yet to have a crash. Even my son's game has yet to crash with his old X-300
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Choosing Sex of Babies on: 2009 May 29, 14:23:06
Gender in TS3 appears to be somewhat more controllable than in TS2: There's a cheesecake effect at work. Eating foods containing "watermelon" increases the chance of females, eating foods containing "apple" increases males.

So that's why my female sim has has 3 boys, those damn apple pancakes her husband likes
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 28, 18:06:51
There seems to be alot of talk about video cards overheating and causing game glitches. And, although I may be wrong in my numbers here, most of those cards with heat issues seem to be from the ATI family.  Am I wrong in assuming this? I am concerned because my computer has a 1950X.  And if this thing starts heating up and causing RAM issues, it's getting replaced. Fast. I really prefer the nVidia series, and if the ATI cards are heating up, I'll switch. In a heartbeat.  Before I purchased this computer I had heard talk about some of the ATI cards having temperature issues. I was reluctant to put an ATI card in the new set up but they gave me a really good price on it and I bit.  Is it now gonna bite me in the ass when I play The Sims 3?

I'm playing with the same card, 512MB, with an intel 920d cpu and 3gb ram. My graphics are set to the highest and they look good. No problems so far. I did update my drivers a few days ago to a 2/25/09 version and I got the driver update from the ATI website. No problems with overheating altho my case has 4 fans.

Or were you directed to another website?  The last time I was on the ATI website I could not find anything for this card.  That is what made me believe this one is not going to be supported any longer. And I did update with that set of drivers from 2/25/09 in March.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx

the date on this one is 3/18/09. This is the Vista driver but there's a xp driver too. I couldn't remember your OS

I don't have that particular card, but my ati hd 4850 is running the game as smooth as silk. I believe I have a newer card so that may not help you

Quote from another forum-

Just a heads-up for those planning to buy from EB Games in case they don't like Sims 3, to take advantage of their 7 day return policy (like me), EB Games are NOT offering their 7 day return policy for The Sims 3.

I tried to pre-order the Collectors Edition at my local store today, and was told that there was no return on the game because it had on-line activation.

I pointed out that EA have very publicly and very specifically stated that there is no on-line activation for the Sims 3, and I just got a shrug and an "I'm just doing what I'm told" as a response.

To the assistance credit, she did check with her manager first, but they are adement that there is no 7 days return for this game.

I work for GameStop and we've never returned new games. Ever. Once you open it, it's yours unless it's defective and you want another copy. PC stuff is especially unreturnable because of cd keys and the like.

lol, I knew I wasn't crazy

19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 28, 13:22:05
Yeah, it is. So is the computer and the computer itself would have to be upgraded to upgrade to a better video card. It's not worth that. That doesn't answer the question though. Can I trick the dinosaur into running the game or is it impossible?

I don't have a PHD in computers, although I have a built a few in my day and I'd have to say not happening

It's an ATI Raedon 9250 video card.

That card is a dinosaur luv. My son's pc has a Radeon X-300 that I thought wouldn't run it, but it does. I think that 9250 is is the old PCI, not even PCI-E

And by the way, I LOVE THIS GAME!  I see a lot of complaints - am I the only who thinks, outside of the glitchiness, it's freakin' awesome?!

I made a comment on another thread I'm not regretting leaving TS2 behind at all. I'm totally digging this game. Now if they can just give me some weather and pets I'll be set
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: No censor hack for TS3 on: 2009 May 26, 18:11:53
The fatness slider does have some marginal effect on bust size, but anything passed the middle gets into chubby territory.

And unfortunately, I only noticed this after being quite far into a game and I get too attached to my sims to ever consider starting over. If there was a way to enable a full CAS to adjust a sim's body (instead of that stupid body size reward) that could help.
Can you not get a 'chubby' to work out on the TV or Machines to thin them down?

yes you can slim down chubby sims by having them work out. My CAS male sim married a really fat sim and now she looks like a super model. Mostly hit the weights with some swimming

During install you are given the option to also install EADM. In the explanation of EADM it says it will connect to the internet. When it asks if you want EADM or not, click no. If you click yes and it tries to connect to the 'net, then there's no surprise, because it said it would do that.

Also, Kenny, I uninstalled the RLD version before installing the Razor version. When it asked if I wanted to delete my saves, I clicked no, and suddenly the game started up. I closed the game and it immediately started up again! I had to ctrl alt delete and end process on TS3.exe and the setup I was running to uninstall it! I then just manually copied my save folder to my desktop and when the uninstall setup got to asking me whether I wanted to keep my user data or not, I clicked NO.

Kind of odd.

And isn't anyone else astounded that story progression is F'd in the release version?? The photos I included are fine evidence, right?

I think when Pes releases his mod, I'm going to start a new game, package the Sims I have and put them into it, and start over fresh. (Again...) When I play this it's with the non-committal view that all I'm really doing is testing it... not the best way to get yourself enthralled in a game.

Wow that is weird, but thanks for the info coltraz.
