Did you delete the cache files?  Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2  You should see two of them, groups and accessory, if you haven't already deleted them.
2  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean Uberhood (Merged EAxis neighbourhoods) - NOT the same as HP's/Mixreality's on: 2011 June 13, 22:57:21
Tarlia, in regards to your E001 base hood of Belladonna, I got a whole bunch of errors of missing neighbor for data access out of Chastity Gere and Gabriel Green, when they were on the lots of other sims.  I also got the errors when they were phoned by others.  When I finally got around to playing their house, they both had blank wants and fears in spite of the fact that Gabriel and Samantha Cordial had been ACRing it up in everyone's living room.  (I would've thought that would generate some wants . . .)  The errors seem to have stopped after playing them for a season--but they've only shown up once on another lot since then.  Wants did eventually generate, and they're normal and appropriate.  I know Chastity is a problem sim as shipped.

The Baldwin toddler (Marcus?) also has blank wants and fears, but I haven't gotten any errors out of him.

Do these mix and match neighborhoods have the fixes you and Strange Tomato made for the broken faces in already or do those sims still need to be SimPE'd?  (Joques, Rubens, Jaquets, etc.)  I've got Belladonna and Pleasantview running right now together and am quite enjoying them, and plan on adding in the other neighborhoods eventually.
4  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Load package in sim surgery. on: 2011 January 01, 00:30:16
I don't have a picture-less sim in need of surgery at the moment, but I can see all of them just fine now.  The surgery tool itself seems to work (I'll be sure in fifteen minutes after I fire up my game and I'll let you know if it didn't).
5  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Load package in sim surgery. on: 2010 December 14, 04:33:54
I'm trying this out, the most recent version with 73_44-QA and it worked fine for the first three sims, but the fourth . . . okay, you know how some sims don't have pictures in SimPE?  Usually in Sim Surgery their name is there without a picture.  In your plugin, they don't show up at all.  I'm probably not making much sense, but here's what I'm trying to do: I downloaded a replacement face for Jessica Picaso.  I want to fix her face, so she passes on the correct dna to her kids instead of the broken template she's made from.  When I go to sim browser, she shows up, but with the potato-head picture instead of her own.  When I go to normal sim surgery, her name is there without a picture above it.  When I go to your plug-in, she's not listed, along with a number of others who are also missing their photos.
I know the photo is not strictly necessary for the export function to work on normal sim surgery, because I've used it for that purpose with sims without pictures before.
I do appreciate your work on this, and it's making my fussing around with my game much easier and tidier.
I know I'm necromancing, but I think you're still around and looking at feedback, at least you were a month-and-a-half-ago, and while mine may or may not be useful, there's always a chance it might be.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Entire TS2 game moving in slow motion? on: 2010 July 02, 19:00:06
I was thinking more in terms of processes running in the background.  I've found google updaters to be particularly egregious about re-enabling themselves, but they aren't the only kind I've had trouble with.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Entire TS2 game moving in slow motion? on: 2010 July 01, 01:35:39
I'm going to ask a stupid sort of question: have you checked to see if something else is running in the background?  Because that sounds to me like something my computer (a laptop) would pull when it has run out of processing space.
I've been having various Sims 2 problems lately (vanishing start-up video, vanishing neighborhoods, grey screen with curser timer for several seconds, hidden neighborhoods sims not showing up in new neighborhoods) but I was due for an OS reinstall, and getting everything reinstalled fixed everything.
8  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean Uberhood (Merged EAxis neighbourhoods) - NOT the same as HP's/Mixreality's on: 2010 April 19, 21:00:50
Tarlia, I downloaded the neighborhoods I can use--thanks for all your hard work--and I have a bug report for you.  I put in the stealth hoods, subhoods, and N001 over the weekend to play with.  Bluewater (B001) errored on extraction, winrar said it was a lot.  I put it in anyway just to see what I could.
The problem lot is Malcolm Landgraab's house.  He's okay (mostly), has the electronics and club deeds, but he's on an empty lot.  I moved him out to another lot and played him for a while, got him some more businesses, but, when I tell him to check in with the managers, the game, instead of telling me that Club Dante doesn't have a manager, tells me that Ramirez Fine Furniture doesn't have a manager.  I haven't taken him to Club Dante but when I click on his car to go somewhere it shows as being his and Ramirez Fine Furniture does not.  He's the only sim I've played in that neighborhood (and Marisa Bendett, whom he hired then married, and their twins).
Hopefully it's just a problem on my end as the downloader, but I figured it was best to let you know.  If it's not just me, then someone else might miss the Landgraab house.
9  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean Uberhood (Merged EAxis neighbourhoods) - NOT the same as HP's/Mixreality's on: 2010 April 09, 19:04:42
Thank you.  I'm looking forward to using the things that are compatible. ' Had very first woohoo' did not come just with NL--NL is my most recently installed expansion pack and I had it long before that.  (The joys of buying used games.)  It has to have been included in either/all of Uni, OFB, and Seasons, which were the first expansion packs I got and I installed simultaneously.  I've noticed other bits of coding repeated in expansion packs--I got the re-nu-u orb when I got Freetime, and the gypsies showed up at that point though not as service sims, and I've had attraction since that triple installation of Uni, OFB, and Seasons.
10  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean Uberhood (Merged EAxis neighbourhoods) - NOT the same as HP's/Mixreality's on: 2010 April 09, 09:52:30
I understand that Bon Voyage is required for the combined neighborhood.  Is it required for the individual neighborhoods, such as the universities, as well?
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Spawn are rolling generic wants intead of parent-related ones on: 2010 March 23, 01:56:35
I wonder if maybe you are missing some data in the SWAF files for these CAS created kids.
The only neighborhood I've had this phenomenon in is one that has issues in genera: the HP uber-megahood.  (The Picasos produced children with straight up custom template elf faces and a custom geneticized non-default skintone as well as regular children: they have two sets of twins and the second of each set is the changeling.  I'm guessing that the mom's DNA is wonky because the two firsts look just like the dad.)
I caused the wants panel mess when I deleted ALL the SWAF in SimPE.  I figured I wanted to play with my new toy, even though it probably won't last long, and it isn't that big a deal to me: and it beat the sims having all sorts of messed up stray data, particularly the toddlers and children channeling the darned romance sims' number LTWs.  (Yes, I know about the cleaned-up versions--those require BV which I don't have).  The premade toddlers never naturally rolled a want, but I could get generic be snuggled, be played with, be read to with the lot debugger.  The children generally had a blank fear slot up until their teen birthdays, and other sims took a few days of play to start rolling wants and fears consistently, and some (only employees of businesses which have been played since their family was last played) still give me several blank slots upon loading the family.
But I know the neighborhood's a mess and likely to explode, and someday I'll have BV and get one of the clean versions, or I'll get brave/bored enough to fix this version myself.
12  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Business Controller: Business Runs YOU! on: 2010 February 07, 01:50:37
Using BRY, this sim (Ajay) was supposed to be making toy robots.  He started doing this (I think he was on a coffee break) after he'd been working for a while, throws them so constantly it's hard to pause to dismiss him via BRY, then, when summoned back, started throwing them again.
Is it BRY, my game, or me?  It looks like it refers to BUY.  He's not assigned a uniform since he just works in the back making robots, and the other robot makers haven't produced any errors.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ghost Study? on: 2009 December 29, 22:49:58
Yeah, I tried that first.  Google, then MATY search.  Please enlighten me, oh wise one.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Ghost Study? on: 2009 December 29, 22:30:34
I was chatting with some other Apocalypse players about ghosts, and we wondered if anyone had ever done a study of ghost haunting behaviors like some of the other exhaustive studies that have been done here at MATY.  Does anyone more awesome than us know if there is such a thing?  We're particularly interested in what triggers some ghosts to be meaner and more murderous than others, and if their behavior was changed with various expansion packs.
15  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Deleted 2: Electric Boogaloo! on: 2009 November 05, 01:06:07
I have about a bazillion (very imprecise number, I know, but they appear to outnumber all the other sims) of 'unknown' sims, none classed as playables, shown in SimPe in HP's uber-megahood.   I don't have these in anyother neighborhood.  Can I just delete the 'unknown' sims in SimPe or is this a VBT?  If it is a VBT, how do I find out what they'd be called on the LotDebugger to do the Boogaloo?
I haven't really played this hood yet: I've been moving tombstones to the community graveyard from various houses, wiping corrupt memories, and evicting sims to the simbin, so I've done stuff but no more than a few sim-moments have passed in any family except the Goths--who got custody of the graveyard.  Also my 6s and 0s have LTWs except for Alexander Goth and the Broke kids, however, I haven't debinned any of the sims, either, so those 6s and 0s may also be okay.  These are all Maxis-made sims, so I know to expect random screwedupedness, but this is the sort of screwupedness that I have learned here is a VBT.  I think I understand what to do to get rid of the random LTWs in 6s and 0s thanks to Mixreality, so it's just the 'unknowns' that I'm still concerned about.
I have the newest expansion packs and the newest SimPe, but I don't have NL, Pets, or BV.
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 November 02, 18:34:19
I think I have a different version of SimPE than you did, or I may be totally confused, because when I look at the SWAF it has the sim's name and pic that it belongs to, and also it stretches across the bottom half of the screen.  I'm good at being totally confused.

Oh, well, if I break it, I can always start over, and I'll have learned something.  Sorry I can't help you with your problem.  I appreciate your advice on mine.
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 October 30, 19:48:18
Well, I'd downloaded and installed Hysterical Paroxism's version, and started messing with it.  (Not really playing--getting tombstones put away properly in a community graveyard instead of scattered at private residences, evicting lazy sims who need to learn parenting skills from their opulent housing to get them ready for the 'refuge camps'.)  Then I see this thread after I found all these pesky toddlers and kids with LTWs.
Could someone please tell me how do I delete the SWAFs I need to in SimPE?  I can find them (at least I think it's them) from the window that shows the sim's stats but I don't see a 'delete' button.  I think I also need to fix the pregnancies, but I don't know if I'm up to that--I might just tolerate weird parentage stuff.
Also, is it safe to delete all the 'unknown' sims?  I really don't care about the Maxis memories that are corrupt--I just want to be able to use the sims for my own purposes.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Freetime grow-up Townie and Aspiration, broken? on: 2009 October 02, 15:51:22
The only way they get to go to college is if they're an intended spouse for a playable, in which case I don't mind playing them.  I have Amber Diceless' custom face replacements, so that limits the whole playing ugly sims thing.  Lazy, filthy sims, though . . .
Tarlia, thanks for the instructions.  I got the bunch cleaned up.
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Freetime grow-up Townie and Aspiration, broken? on: 2009 September 30, 04:03:35
Thanks all.

Is it better to use SimPE or is it safe to use the set aspiration feature I get with testing cheats enabled with a shift-click on the sim?  Or can I use Rufio's suggestion safely?  I have that aspiration-changer thing even though I don't have Nightlife: it showed up when I installed Freetime.  Is it a VBT if I don't fix these teens?

Is there a good way to grow up townie brats?  It is safe to send a townie teen to college, right?  Or is that broken, too?
I have the Director's Cut and I make sure I upgrade it when I get a new expansion (well, not any more) or when jsalami posts something about an update.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Freetime grow-up Townie and Aspiration, broken? on: 2009 September 29, 00:41:11
So, in a custom hood, I had some playable children grow up.  I had them take their townie friends with them.  (I'm trying to get rid of townie kids at the moment: I wanted them a generation ago for bus buddies, but now there are cousins.)  Two of the townies in question showed up later as 2/3 of a wishing well friends drop for a different playable teen.  I took advantage of their presense on lot to make them selectable and change their clothes and hair.  They still had the grow-up aspiration.  I just redressed them and made them unselectable again and let the playable teen send them on their merry way.

Just how bad is this?  Can I just leave them wandering around wanting to grow up, or do I need to set them with a proper teenage aspiration somehow?  If they really must have a proper aspiration, is there a better way to do it?  I do have SimPE, but I only know how (barely) to use it to make a copy of a sim for safekeeping.  There have been some other odd things happening in this hood--when it was at just two playable families (it's now at four) old Gramps used to bring home a child townie sim from his job as Captain Hero.  The child always appeared at the bottom of the elevator shaft in the foundation and had to be removed by moveobjects.  When one of the kids got him aged up to teen he started appearing on the sidewalk.

So is it just Maxian borkenness or did I screw something up (suspecting the latter)?

Edit: Er, I have Happy Holidays, OFB, Uni, Seasons, FT, AL, Celebration Stuff, and M&G.  I have the Director's Cut; ACR and Triplets/quads and teen/skunk from TwoJeffs; a ton of Inge's hacks; Lot Full Of Sims; and several others that I think are all object based, not global.  I could be wrong, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear my pants don't fit.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: questions about memories and what they do on: 2009 September 28, 23:52:44
I'm not awesome or anything, but I'd bet that when a sim wants to resurect someone or fears seeing someone as a zombie that the death memory triggers the want.  Likewise I imagine fall-in-love memories and have baby, got engaged, etc have some effect on wants and fears, and the memories of events that help fill up the Freetime perks bar thingy.  Also the first-kiss memory ought to be in that 1% since its lack triggers the pink swirly stuff.

For the rest of you newcomers, if you read enough archived threads, you'll discover that Gwill is a particular forum member.  Archived forum threads: the internet's gift to procrastenators.

Okay, the Necromancy guy is cool.  Why does everyone say he's scary?  (Assumption: in-joke.)

I would like to know if this is compatable with Inge's social worker hack.  I have hers in right now and this out, under the assumption that it is not.  I am non-awesome, of course, and totally clueless about programing in general.  I currently have Uni, OFB, Seasons, and FT.
23  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2009 June 11, 18:35:53
Chickens, gate, guest, and BUY: I've got a household of eight (2 adult, 2 teen, four children) with one bathroom, thanks to BUY.  One of the teens had her boyfriend, a mean sim, come over.  The kicky-chickens were, of course, behind a locked gate: I got sick of the gnome-wars.
I had the two teens lined up to use the bathroom, and both popped up the waiting timer.  This happens frequently in this house because one of the other family members got snagged before.  I didn't think much of it, then after a sim-hour or so realized the teens still hadn't gotten to the bathroom, and no one else was using it.  The rest of the family were all lined up skilling on the couch and chairs like good sims.  I tried canceling the teens' actions and requeuing them, but that had no effect..
At this point I looked around outside and found mean boyfriend standing in the snow by the locked gate turned blue with blocked path things over his head.  He hadn't been the only sim over that day, there'd been two others, and I thought he'd left when they did.  I had dad sim tell him to leave and the teens then used the bathroom properly.
The only thing I can think is he'd queued to steal between one and three chickens, then use the bathroom, and couldn't get to the chickens and that locked up the bathroom.  (I don't know how to see what visitors are up to without screwing up the families, adding people into wrong households, etc.)  Is that what happened?  Is that what's supposed to happen?  It's a standard expensive maxis object bathroom, so no custom toilets or anything.  I know there are custom hair and clothes, and I think maybe a custom wall-cover in that house, along with the lot debugger, clothing changer, and BUY.  I have Uni, OFB, and Seasons, and I'm a total noob if that's in any way relevent: I got the game in March, I think it was.  I'll have to keep a closer eye on mean sim guests in the future.

So it is.  I totally failed reading today.  (had to ctrl+f to find it)
Please accept my apologies.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Trying not to break it on: 2009 May 14, 18:07:13
Thanks very much.  I will go delete those.  No sense wasting memory.
I've been working on reading all the RTFMs and the threads associated with the hacks.  Some seem to fix problems I don't tend to have--I micromanage so the BUY applies to a problem I've never seen as best I understand.  My sims never pile up in the bathroom, they always have another queued action or five.  (And if they don't have something to do, they all end up at the piano--apparently tipping someone with one lousy creativity point is a higher attraction action than anything else, including the computer!)  Likewise, while I have Seasons, I don't have Pets or Nightlife so those hacks I don't need.
I didn't see the batbox specificly in the Seasons folder, so either I'm not reading well, or there's not a Seasons-specific version.  In either case, using it in game so far hasn't caused a problem.  Now if I could just figure out what half the functions on it are . . . I know it'll just take me a while.  This site, like every other I've ever been on run by a INTJ, has its own vocabulary that I just have to learn.
