1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL money exploit - anyone ever noticed this? on: 2009 June 25, 20:04:15
Are you sure it's not just the object though?

I've found it to be true of all buy mode objects.

Edit: do books written by yourself also count?

They fulfill reading wishes, so likely yes.

What Roflganger said.  I'm curious:  just how much information are we looking at in a day?  I expect it is enough that popups on event would be maddening, and FAST.

Events essential to omniscience:  AddSim, ChangeRelationship (romance only), Create Household, Create and Move in, Emigrate, Kill, Merge, Move In/Out, Split.

Ideally we will want to know of these the moment they happen, but a daily report would certainly be better than the nothing we have.

Doubly ideal?  setconfig ApproveToads true.  Veto power is grail-shaped.

Learnings from elsewhere, worth noting in this thread:

Traits' influence on genre profitability for writers

Traits' influence on work performance
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Work Performance Facts on: 2009 June 13, 02:56:54
I've had one success with it in the Science career track. He was awarded with a sizable boost in job performance. I don't have any hard numbers, but it was enough to max his job performance resulting in a promotion at the end of the day. He was probably a bit less than halfway through the performance bar at the time, but I'll admit that I don't watch it all that carefully.

Politics ("new course of action") had a similar effect.  The success popup may have said something about work relationships being strained, but I was too busy spending the bonus to notice the little people.

Trait: Great Kisser
CAS Description: Self-explanatory Tongue
Features: Other sim gets an extra moodlet when kissed by them

This one's a little quirky.  The great kisser sim also gets the moodlet.  Kissing in bed does not count.

9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 03, 22:39:58
The "grumpy" trait is stupid.  The sim isn't grouchy, he or she just gets sad instead of angry.

Come to think of it, I had a grouchy sim with a whiny demeanor too.  I thought some other trait was causing it.  That stinks.  Roll Eyes

Mean-spirited has its charm, but what good is "see ghost of" without a ready cowplant?

Yes, it's stupid. I can't even make my self Sim properly, because it would require both the Childish and the Hates Children trait, they cancel each other out. Since when does being playful mean that you like peoples' little crotch droppings?

This too.  I was going to combine Hates Children with Family-Oriented, which was probably a wee bit optimistic.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 03, 20:48:41
While working up a list of mutually exclusive traits, I have learned a sim cannot be both Grumpy and Hot Headed.

What is this... this... UNHOLINESS?!

*head explodes*

14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Burial Grounds (Dead Girls Don't Say No) on: 2009 May 31, 03:59:46
could ghosts be lucky for finds?

They seem somewhat lucky anyway.  My current ghost lot had gems worth $1522, $256, and $14 on day 1.  It's the only home lot I've had collectibles appear on.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Burial Grounds (Dead Girls Don't Say No) on: 2009 May 30, 23:53:57
It looks random.  I have moved several families into the same trailer lot and was only offered the burial grounds option once.

Deal-braker #1295:  "Daredevil" sims get "extreme nap," "extreme sleep," "practice extreme speech," etc.

They do not get "extreme woo-hoo."

I call bullshit.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 23, 22:39:41
sims will just stop and not do anything when they have an action queued.
Damn.  I'd hoped that was from choosing "Absent-minded."  Queue "go to work," and I find him an hour later watching TV.

Yet another deal-breaking implementation flaw is discovered:  "troll internet forum" does not decrease writing skill.
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Influence hit limit? on: 2009 May 11, 06:17:59
Now that you mention it, in my case the sim may have been topping a ltw;  it's the only reason a sim so far into that perk tree should be working.  As for this pic, who knows?

Thanks.  I thought something seemed familiar (and annoying) about that number.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Influence hit limit? on: 2009 May 11, 06:02:35
I had this happen once and did not think much of it.  Tonight I noticed it in someone's story.

Both sims fulfilled a large fear while having the "boundless influence" perk.  In my case, a fortune sim was either demoted or fired.  The sim in this pic feared a relative would meet aliens, or so it is claimed.  Both incidents happened with all major EPs installed.

The point it brings up:  might they have meant to only multiply gains x 5?
