51  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: hack affecting pet best friend memory? on: 2006 October 22, 11:04:20
Yes, it's working for me now.  Thanks.
52  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: hack affecting pet best friend memory? on: 2006 October 22, 01:24:43
The updated noinstantloves is still having issues for me - my sim got a memory of his puppy becoming "Mine" (that thing cats get) instead of the best friend memory.
53  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: hack affecting pet best friend memory? on: 2006 October 22, 01:00:58
Yes that was it - took it out and new memories are now normal.  I'll check out the update. Thanks.
54  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / hack affecting pet best friend memory? on: 2006 October 22, 00:05:51
Something I have installed or updated this morning from this site has changed the specific memory sims get when making best friends with a pet.  It has changed the memoory with a picture of an animal and the paws and pet-related text (which a sim got yesterday) to the two smiley face sim best friend memory.

I am removing hacks I've updated in this morning but wondered if anyone had this too?
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Puppies Cant climb Stairs to enter the house on: 2006 October 21, 06:31:09
My sims have carried kittens inside - haven't had any puppies.
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any one else having this? on: 2006 October 21, 06:15:21
No, I've had neither of those things.  Most of the problems I've seen reported are hack conflicts, not bugs.  Do you get an error in debug mode when your sim chats on the computer?
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Get in ownable car gosub error? on: 2006 October 20, 21:22:56
I got this error when trying to send my sim to a community lot in her car. She was on an outing, in case that matters.  When I sent her in a taxi there was no problem.

I have just updated the last couple of hacks in the pets directory (phone hack and pets job fixes) so I don't know if that will fix it.

Any ideas?
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Age duration hack for pets? on: 2006 October 20, 09:14:59
Twojeffs updated his age duration hack for Pets, but it doesn't affect pet ageing.

I quite like using Monique's hacked gnome that lets you remove sims' pictures from the relationships panel. It doesn't change the relationship or alter memories though.

I know it's not quite what you're asking for, but squinge has a hack on the insimenator forum to count things like number of woohoos that may be useful.

61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Earn 100K Lifetime Want on: 2006 September 15, 09:24:43
A lot better than the "reach golden anniversary" one, which can't be achieved until the Sims are elders.

I like that one for family sims.  Transition to elder in green (or lower) aspiration, throw an anniversary party as soon as practical and then I have happy elders who don't live quite as long.  Suits me great.
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: moving house and getting a second graduation memory on: 2006 September 07, 07:42:14
For me it doesn't matter how long it is after a sim graduates, and yes by 'move from the neighbourhood screen' I do mean from the sim bin.

I'm afraid I haven't tested lots of different scenarios.
What has happened for me is:
* Sim graduates and is in the sim bin.  If I move them to a new house from there, they are fine (just the one graduation memory).  If I combine them with another household they are also fine.
* I play them in their house for at least one time and save, but it's often been many sessions.
* I choose move family from the neighbourhood screen and the family moves to the simbin.
* I move them into an unoccupied lot.  The sim has a second graduation memory, that appears before the "moved in" memory.

I have now just moved another family with 3 university graduates (2 adults and 1 elder who have been living in their house for several saves).  Success - none of them received a new graduation memory.  Cheesy

I hope I've made what I'm doing a bit clearer !  Thanks for looking at this.

63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: moving house and getting a second graduation memory on: 2006 September 07, 06:13:41
In my case the memory has always been one lower, but I've only observed it with Suma changing to Magna and Magna to a regular honours - none of my sims has graduated lower than that!

I am backing up my hood now and will test and report back.

ETA:
THANKS THIS IS GREAT!   Smiley

ahem, well this worked for me.  Sim Aurora had graduated in the normal way from university and got married to a townie.  I had upgraded the townie with the lot debugger, but of course he had no memory of graduating.

I had them move house from the neighbourhood screen (as I have not had this problem when sims move house through marriage or being asked to move in, or when combining households).

After the move Aurora had no new grad memory, but her townie husband did have one, of graduating without honours (not a duplicate obviously).

I will go try with another family now.
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: moving house and getting a second graduation memory on: 2006 September 06, 07:44:12
At least I know it isn't just me then.

The fact that everyone in the family remembers is partly why I can't be bothered using simPE to sort it out.
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / moving house and getting a second graduation memory on: 2006 September 06, 07:31:54
Whenever I have sims who have been to university move house, they get a second graduation memory (one level lower than their first and proper one).  Is this just a my game thing? Is there something to fix it other than deleting it in simPE?
This irritates me far more than it probably should...
66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: mass graduation? on: 2006 September 04, 08:22:32
use testing cheats to make them selectable and then have them find own place?   Huh
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: hack request - attn twojeffs - OFB toys on: 2006 September 03, 07:27:26
Please don't make fun of Don.  I miss him in my custom neighbourhood.  I may have to bring him over ... complete with floppy hairdo, of course.

I miss Don too! He always made pretty children in my Pleasantview.

And I would also like my adults to leave the OFB toys alone.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EDIT - is this buggy? - business deeds, income and managers on: 2006 July 14, 22:16:03
I usually ran a salon that also sold "hair care products" (custom content that looked like bottles of hairspray and bath decorations" so you can also have a cashier.

Oooh, where'd you get these?  I'm hoping to set up a salon soon and would love something like this.

That well dressed sim set has some that are free.
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EDIT - is this buggy? - business deeds, income and managers on: 2006 July 13, 07:12:41
Are you using the relevant wages mod? That can affect whether you can promote, I think (eg if one of your employees badges is for cosmetology in a non-cosmetology-related business it doesn't count).

I promoted a teen to manager the other day, but have not successfully phoned to check in on the business - it keeps saying the business doesn't have a manager. When I send my sim back to the business the teen is still employed as a manager, so I don't know what that's about.

ETA: The teen I promoted was a townie.

71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Proposal Mood Requirements? on: 2006 July 06, 08:37:07
I never thought it made any sense for sims to turn down a proposal from someone they were in love with and wanted to marry, just because they were a little hungry.

I noticed in the basic Sims 2 game, no expansions, that it was easier to get dumped at the altar-especially by romance sims. Now it seems even they want to tie the knot! I think something has changed in the coding for unions since then.

Maybe it's the dates thing - my romance sims roll up engagement etc wants on dates but not often otherwise.

74  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Stack number out of range error? on: 2006 July 03, 07:28:12
I downloaded a community lot for a sim to buy (installed with clean installer) and when I sent my sim there, he would reset every few sim minutes if he was idling. The error I got was "stack number out of range".

Can someone help me id the problem or should I just trash the lot?

ETA: attached log as suggested.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help with neighborhood camera.txt please on: 2006 July 01, 09:14:43
Thank you so much, I'll try it at once.  I did search MTS2 for another one, but clearly I'm not awesome enough.  Smiley

ETA: sorted, yay! thanks again.
