What do you mean by the scanner getting corrupted?  Does it not work anymore?

Corrupted in the sense that if I start the macro again, the sim will put on a cap (as applicable), pick up the gun, then just stand there frozen.  Canceling the queue does bupkis. They become breathing statuary.  If I do the delete/save/enter thing, then start the macro again, the sim will find the scanner (so far), but freeze again as soon as they pick it up.

Other than forcing errors on a couple of items one day out of sheer boredom, I've never bothered with it, so I had wondered if doing that would "fix" the gun or not.

You know, I checked the date on the file for this and it's back in mid-July.  I downloaded it a couple of days ago and chucked it in the game, mainly because the scanner always frosted my cookies by poofing into ether at the slightest opportunity, so I always avoided using it.

The point... earlier today a sim was Skillinating his little tush off with it, and lo and behold, he scanned the repair lady's truck (and my, wasn't she attractive with that dashing electrocuted look she was sporting), which promptly pulled off the lot.  He ended up by the mailbox, hat off, gun magically reappearing off by one of the portals.  The scanner ended up corrupted and had to be deleted and replaced with a new one.

Am I the only one seeing this?  Or is there something this fix isn't always catching (as it should according to the docs)?  If it makes any kind of a difference, this is a sim who was upgraded to Uni (made in CAS in a Uni game, and upgraded after he was moved into the household) using the, er, Lot Debugger(?).

Should I have attempted to force an error on the gun at that point?

I've had this happen with a fingerprint scanner that somehow got corrupted.  Poor sim would stand there motionless no matter what. I had to delete him, save/exit, and come back.  Then delete the corrupt scanner and replace it, since it would just happen all over again.

Of course, I found it odd that when I would re-enter the house, the sim ended up at the mailbox (as expected), along with his thinking cap, but the scanner was waaaaaay off at the far lot portal.

I have a magic junction point programme, all sims music folders are pointed/directed into one folder which holds whatever I feel like currently listening to.

A what?  I shall probably be laughed at (but what the heck), but there's a way to fake out Sims2 to believe the files are actually in the station folders when they aren't?

I've held off putting in too many mp3s simply because I'm forced to duplicate the files, and that annoys me.

After being away from Texas for a couple of years, I lost most of the accent.  The only time I had the accent was when I was very tired.  It was really interesting because when I was tired I could *hear* myself talking with an accent.

I've noticed that myself. I grew up in Maine...Downeast Maine, to be specific, and anyone who's heard about Bert & I knows what I mean.  Though, having a mother from Sheffield and a father who spent a lot of time in different places and countries, I never had much of a regional accent.

However, the minute I get really tired, I and my husband can immediately hear where I came from.

Having grown up with an English mum, I was forever getting marked down in school for using British spellings.  Though, I think using the term full stop is a tad cumbersome.

On wierd desires, it's too bad we couldn't have had, in Uni, stair diving as an activity.
