Awesome. Best show ever.

Your icon is disturbing. And not in a good way like jezzer's icons are. BURN IT WITH FIRE.

I can think of at least one issue that might be causing your problems, but we are not allowed to enable tards. Sorry.

Oh, this must be the part where I'm supposed to get all frothy about your 'tard' comment, and all your peers come out to cheer you on in wankfest of forum superiority. No thanks. You don't want to help me, fine, don't.

If you are going to ask for help, at least provide some actual information other than "WAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT WON'T LOAD".

Hmm, I don't recall saying anything like "WAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT WON'T LOAD", but here is what I believe to be the relevant information. If there is something else, please let me know.

1. I had a working game, all SPs and EPs, mods, CC and AM.
2. I installed Showtime from the DVD. When it asked to perform updates, I let it.
3. I started Showtime from the Launcher icon and got the warning about an outdated mod, so I just quit.
4. I ran the AM Updater and let it install the latest AM test version.
5. Now the game just sits at an un-moving progress bar, but if I take out AM, it starts.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Game won't load after installing Showtime on: 2012 March 13, 20:27:58
I let the AM Updater install the latest test version, and now my game will only start if I remove AM. But the thought of playing without AM fills me with dread. Do I need to just be patient and wait for another AM release, or is there any other solution?
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA photographs problem? on: 2011 July 10, 16:30:19
So, I messed around with some Things I Should Not Have Touched, and I managed to get four semi-playable mummies in my house, which was entertaining for a while. Then I killed them off by forcing their age transition, and I started getting the "Flagrant Error" messages. Eventually I got the one informing me that my save was corrupted and had turned into a BFBVFS. So I thought, what do I have to lose, and tried to take a picture. It worked.

I do not recommend this as a solution  Cheesy

Edit: GAH...new neighborhood, and I can take photos at home, but I can't take them on an adventure where I need to. I give up.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA photographs problem? on: 2011 July 09, 16:27:02
Have you tried selling the camera and buying a new one? This in addition with restarting the game afterwards did the trick for me.

Thank you for the suggestion, but it is still not working. It seems to hang at the point the picture would be saved, because after I have to reset, no picture.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA photographs problem? on: 2011 July 03, 07:35:48
I was hit by that bug just a few hours ago and while I don't have a solution yet I can report on what others suggested (in no particular order):
<snip lots of ideas>

Edit update: I cleared caches AND completed the open opportunity. After that photography worked normally again. Clearing caches only did nothing. And I haven't patched WA separately.

Thanks. I tried all of that too, still no joy. Maybe there will be a patch.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA photographs problem? on: 2011 July 02, 06:27:28
Clearing caches and DCBackup files and starting the game again is being reported to work -sometimes-. Swearing at EA while doing so is optional.

Thanks for the tip, but it seems this time is not one of those times, even with extra swearing. Sigh...
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / WA photographs problem? on: 2011 July 01, 23:03:15
One of the Egypt adventures wants you to take a photo of a treasure chest. I figured out the stupid way that using the in-game camera or cell phone wouldn't satisfy the requirement. So, I bought one of each of the cameras in the market, and after I press C to take the photo, the "Take Photo" action remains in the queue. It can't be killed, and I have to resetsim to continue. I found a few references to this problem on the BBS, but no solutions. Any ideas, please?

I just donated my $50.00. I don't post often, but when I do, I always get the helpful, surly advice I've come to know and love. And without AwesomeMod, Sims 3 just wouldn't be worth the trouble. Thanks for everything!
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing sims3packs on Ubuntu? on: 2010 December 15, 14:20:17
I've also got an Ubuntu partition and it had never occurred to me to try it your way. Maybe I'll give that a shot sometime.

It works amazingly well. I run XP in a VirtualBox for a few things, like printing greeting cards. And I still haven't been able to get my webcam to work under Ubuntu. But aside from the launcher, the Sims works great, and everything else I use is open source.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE MUNICIPALITY NEEDS YOU! SUPPORT THE MUNICIPALITY! on: 2010 December 14, 23:01:57
I wish it could be more, but $10 was all I could manage because I'm on disability and my husband just got laid off. I really depend on the info here, even though I don't post much (because I'm afraid of the regulars) :/

For store items, you might want to look into Moryrie's method, since she provides all the store items neatly bundled together in .package format, spread across just a few large files instead of thousands.

Thank you so much. I will give that a try. If all else fails I will just go back to using XP to play the Sim (I kept the partition), but I really want to get away from that and just use Linux.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing sims3packs on Ubuntu? on: 2010 December 14, 17:35:16
If you use that method, I'd recommend merging them into new files.  Having too many package files causes significant system slowdown.  There's a thread on here with step-by-step instructions on how to make merged files.

Thanks for the tip. It is over 1800 packages once I extract them. Guess I need to do some more research.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Installing sims3packs on Ubuntu? on: 2010 December 14, 06:02:36
I've recently switched to Linux and Sims 3 & all expansions are running great with Wine & PlayOnLinux. I don't have any problem with .package files - just copy them into the Mods directory as usually. But after downloading a ton of store stuff I realized I have not got a clue of how to handle Sims3Pack files. I can't use the launcher. I can still run XP in a virtual machine - should I use Delphy's extractor to extract all the packages and then just handle them like my mods, or is there a better way?
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why are so many objects glowing? on: 2010 November 24, 01:32:00

Awesome, thanks so much. I turned off the "Enable Advanced Rendering" and things look so much better now. I had hesitated to turn that off before because I thought the game needed full use of 2.0 shaders.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Why are so many objects glowing? on: 2010 November 24, 01:09:10
I haven't played in ages because I switched from Windows to Ubuntu. I have all the expansions and stuff packs. I have an Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 with 1024MB. All my graphics settings are on High. The game runs perfectly on Ubuntu using Wine & PlayOnLinux, with one exception. Light colored objects under a light have a glow effect that is driving me crazy. I don't know what setting in the game or the Nvidia tool, if any, I can adjust to get rid of it. Here's what it looks like (click for larger image):

Any ideas? I'm at my wit's end.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Secret Society members in regular clothes on: 2009 June 02, 00:57:39
My SS members no longer wear their uniforms on campus or during abductions, but they are all wearing them at the SS lot.  When a sim is abducted, it's a cop that does the chicken dance and cuffs them.  Any ideas on how to get them back in uniform?  All EPs and SPs are installed.

Thank you!

I was hoping to find out without breaking anything.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / AL patches after MG? on: 2009 January 08, 23:00:57
I installed MG with an unpatched AL.  It did some sort of AL update.  Do I need to install any patches?
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PSA: Abandonated Mods Borked by AL on: 2008 September 08, 19:13:37
If it's the one posted here, I did the build/buy enabler.  Unfortunately, I'm not a modder and don't remember what to do to change the hack.  If anyone feels like taking it on, go for it.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any fix yet to enable buy/build mode? on: 2008 March 21, 04:04:56
The build/buy mode enabler that I made for BV works with Freetime, and build & buy mode are enabled at the hobby clubs.  You can get it from this thread - http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9923.0.html.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 16, 03:46:32
I had Natasha Una and Julien Cooke get married.  His asp meter went totally platinum and then was stuck that way (wouldn't drop to gold).  I didn't notice anything was wrong until he reprogrammed himself and turned into a grilled cheese Sim.  Later, after they'd both went permaplat, I saved and quit.  When I played them again, their meters were both green and had to be fixed with SimPE.  But the bugginess wasn't over.  Once Natasha was preggers, she got stuck in a bathtub.  I had to force an error on the tub to get her out, and she promptly died next to the tub.  Julien was able to successfully plead for her life, and once she was back, they both had memories of Natasha graduating. Graduating from what, the tub?  The other side?

Disclaimer:  my game is full of questionable stuff, so I may be doing this to myself.

If you're trying to edit or create custom foodz, the skill required to cook a food is in BCON 0x1001:0x04 and 0x05. There are two numbers, they should be the same.

Muchas gracias, El Presidente!
