I have heard that using the cell phone to hire nannies causes these sorts of problems. Just cancel schedules, then re-hire using the house phone. Hopefully that will help

That would explain why on certain community lots they had trouble finding the doors to go out to the taxi! I will keep looking anyway.

Well I changed the booth type chairs and added proper chairs. Took a group of 6 downtown for a meal-fine. Took a couple downtown and did all the dining interactions, including surprise engagement, and no jump! Yay! Thanks all-it must be the booth chairs

Oh yes! I might go in and change them all into normal tables and chairs and see if it fixes the problem That would explain why it hasn't happened on resi lots-I don't use those tables at home! Thankyou

Hmmm this has happened to me a few times, but only on downtown community lots. My sim couple would be sitting at a table, eating quite happily then BAM! ...end up standing next to their chairs.....sound familiar? It has happened in all the restaurants with up to 8 sims. It hasn't happened everytime but 2 times out of 3...eating at home has caused no problems-as far as I know. It has happened on my daughters downtown neighbourhood too. Other than this my game is working great! I have downloaded the nightlife patch. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have the same problem. I don't really know if it is a fix or if I was just lucky but after I played a lot in which I place items from the inventory, I place some of those items back in the inventory because I decided to move them again in a new house, when I place the inventory items in the new house I notice the items were back to normal, I could place them against walls.
So I wonder if by placing some of those messy items back in the inventory, save and reload the lot and then place them back, if it fixes that problem or not. It could have been luck since it only happened once and I did not had a chance to test this again but I still wanted you to know in case it could help you fix this problem.
Thanks! I will try that

No custom content like floors and walls or hacks and furnished only with stuff that comes with the game and it's expansion packs! Unoccupied and under 20k But other than that-I'm not fussy!

I am having trouble with the stupid table once it has gone in my sims inventory too-along with other things..for example I can't place things alongside a wall, including beds and sofas, or place chairs by the poker table. I used moveobjects on to fix these problems, but it is most unsatisfactory.

Actually, in my experience,"building" the baby was pretty easy. Now, "birthing" the baby was a pain in the ass. Literally. Especially when the baby is over 9 lbs. I seriously begged my obstetritian for a c-section, no joke. My mom and husband overheard his phone call to another ob/gyn, and he was saying "I have a healthy mom and a healthy baby, and the mom is refusing to push! What should I do???". He was making arrangements for an emergency c-section, when I decided to go ahead and push. I've always been a bit stubborn. I have had 4 kids-and with each birth I have decided enough was enough and got up to go home.... I had to be pinned down by my husband and the midwife!

I also keep a close eye on them while they're sleeping and if it looks like their sleep isn't filling like it should I get them up and make them go back to bed. Usually their sleep meter starts filling like it should.
Ahh! This is my problem! They can go to bed, and the sleep meter will never fill-I'll try what you suggested. Thanks!

Ok I thought this was quite cute and funny the first few times I saw it-but I am finding it very hard to keep my pregnant women alive! They are knackered and starving and they keep falling into their food...is there a hack planned that will stop this happening? I am currently using the maxmotives cheat to stop them dying, but I am not a fan of using cheats like that...I much prefer hacks
