1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 01.10.2013) on: 2013 January 19, 01:54:39
LOL - I was thinking you were suppose to attach a fix.  Thanks for the fix.  I'll try that.  Edit: Thanks for the fix, but, it didn't work.  I put it in the overrides like you said, and neither Monte Vista hair showed up.  I even put it in Mods/Packages just to see, and that didn't work either.  I don't know why your fix didn't work, unless I did something wrong (I wouldn't know what that would be though).
Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in...  Did you delete all the cache files after putting in the fix? Could make a difference maybe?

I'm sure it's good advice to delete the cache files, and I'm not directing this specifically to you Occasionally, but I really don't think it matters. I've hardly ever remembered to delete my cache files while testing/making mods or anything else inbetween takes.
Right, understood... It may not make any difference with hairs that are missing altogether, but I find that clearing the cache files does affect what I see in the in-game catalog; especially when I'm testing new objects as package files.  Just thought it couldn't hurt to give it a try! :-)

I'm no expert, but it looks to me like you need to work on the joint assignments.  And if you're trying to make something for the bottom half (pants for example) cloned from something for the top half (a shirt), you may never get the correct joint assignments.  It really would be better to bring this up for discussion at Mod The Sims http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=597  (or is discussing genitalia-type stuff deemed unsuitable over there? If so, try Sexy Sims forum? http://www.sexysims2.com), but here's some info on assigning joints in TSRW:

No.  Fuck you.  Go away.
I was raised by my fine Southern-genteel-lady of a momma and so could never allow myself to behave like that ^ in public [my impatient sailor-potty-mouth usually only comes out with those nearest and dearest and never in front of elders   Wink ]...
However, there's a little repressed devilish brat deep inside me that does a little dance of glee when I see you guys talk like that...  So, Kiss  Happy Fucking Holidays!  Tongue

~slowly & guiltily backing out of the penis thread~

I don't see that you listed the decrapify.exe as one of the files in your downloads folder...   I put my store files to be decrapped in a folder that has s3rcbatch.cmd, s3rc.exe and decrapify.exe and then double click to run the s3rcbatch...
Isn't decrapify.exe just a wrap for -fD?
I don't know what 'just a wrap' means, I'm sorry...
If '-fD' is a command (switch?) in the batch file (or there's some other command test in the s3rcbatch.cmd) that means 'run the program decrapify.exe' and the decrapify.exe program isn't in place, then the stuff might get compressed, but the store crap isn't going to get decrapped...  At least that was my thinking when suggesting that TinyBear double check to make sure all the necessary files were in place...  As I said, I'm no expert, I'm just sharing what worked for me.

I am prepared to face my lashings as long as I get an answer to my question. Unfortunately I've been around MATY long enough to know that that's not really likely but I thought I'd try anyway. I recently had to format my computer and lost all the games and store stuff. To make things easier I installed all my games via origin and then downloaded the store stuff from here. I've decrapified the same way I always remember doing before (admittedly it had been awhile since I added anything or even played) and yet I still can't get anything to show up in my game. It acts like it's installing and it takes forever, considering I just grabbed everything that's been uploaded to the store; but still when I boot my game up nothing. I'm not sure if it's because I installed all the games virtually through origin or if there is something else. I have the S3P in this directory: C:\Users\Finneus\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads and I have s3rc as well as the s3rc batch file in there as well. I have searched the hell out of MATY and the internet and not found an answer that's solved the problem. Lastly I do notice that after I install it puts files in my DCBackup folder; not sure if that's relevant.

The dialogue for my batch file is:
Code:
for /R %%i in (*.sims3pack) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.package) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.nhd) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.sim) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.dbc) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
@pause
Did you double check to be sure you have the latest Compressor files?  There's an updated version I stumbled across somewhere, I'm sorry I don't remember where *.
I don't see that you listed the decrapify.exe as one of the files in your downloads folder...   I put my store files to be decrapped in a folder that has s3rcbatch.cmd, s3rc.exe and decrapify.exe and then double click to run the s3rcbatch...  It's the only way I was able to get store stuff to work with my launcher (and I didn't want to decrap all my game files).  Also, you may (or may not) still need the resource.cfg in your \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods folder for custom content? You can try running the game vanilla once, decrapping and installing your sims3packs and then delete all the cache files [ http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files ] before you run your game with the installed content...
I'm not sure that your problem has anything to do with Origin, because that's how my game updates are installed, and my decrapped stuff still works...
I'm no expert, but hopefully I was able to help...  Smiley

ETA: * It was this topic http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,21354.msg589639.html#msg589639 where I found a link that said "Download: Update your decrappifiying tools." and linked here:
http://moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15129.0.html and although it said the recompressor post's last update was in 2010, I downloaded and replaced the files as instructed anyway...

Yes, I would also like to know if it's going to need an update for the newest patch, as I usually wait to patch my game until all my in-game mods have been updated...  Thank you Cmar for all your contributions! I appreciate you!

If by 'bothered to check myself' you mean I didn't download and decrapify and unpack the .sims3pack before I asked, you're absolutely right! I didn't!  The sets appear to be 2 separate entities at first glance.  So, thank you for your attention and guidance! I'm off to twiddle my packages now!  Wink
Now you can beat me up and call me stupid for the double post, I tried to edit my previous post and although I clicked the 'save' button my edit wasn't posted...
Thanks again!

I doubt you even bothered to check for yourself. Derp.

'Bothered to check' what for myself?  Kiss

Beat me, whip me, throw rotten eggs...  Here's a lame WCIF/Request...

Is anybody going after or has anyone already gone after the January 2012 Compilation at the Store?  If anyone is or has, I'd love to have it please!  While I'm eternally grateful for those who have shared stuff from January already, the compilation includes "The Sims Classic- Welcome Back to Three Lakes Set", which to the best of my knowledge is not included in the "Killer Classics" set.  While I would normally enjoy an already-packaged-up month's worth of stuff, for January I prefer to handle my packages myself.  Wink
~handling my packages, definitely, definitely handling my packages~

If nobody iis going for it, or has gone for it and not had the time or inclination to share, then perhaps I may take some of my tax refund and purchase some Points myself, in which case I should post it here for everyone to grab?
