TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Transparent grills/plants Apartment Life--Resolved
|

I just brought my game up to speed with all EPs and SPs. The cheapest two grills and the rubber tree plant are semi-transparent (like a Sim ghost). I tried to take pictures, but they look normal in the pics. Sims can use them with no problem. I tested with my downloads folder out and no change. The items are affected on Residential, Apartment, and Community lots. Forcing an error does not change them, nor does using the recolor tool. Any ideas?

That's really nice, Hecubus. Which EP has the fountain? I am lacking BV and FT, and now I am experiencing EP envy.
Hmm. I thought it was Seasons - look in Decorative/Sculptures. If not, then it's BV. It's just a long thang that sits in your pool or pond. Dur. Now I feel like an idgit. I had never seen that. Thanks.

In my makeover, I decided to keep the general exterior look of the house the same. I wanted it to still be recognizable as the same house. I did add on a bit at the rear, changed windows, doors, and exterior paint. I totally revamped the interior. The ground floor has the dreaded pool, along with hot tub, bar, and a family room. Upstairs is the kitchen, master bedroom, kids' room and nursery. The house now has 3 full baths. It isn't fully Awesomespec because that isn't how I play or design. Also, I added a lot in the way of landscaping to make the house feel like a "Harmonious Haven". I have all EPs up to Seasons plus FFS & GLS. Fully furnished, the house sells for §106,496. Unfurnished is §42,116. Aggh. Please excuse the picture quality. I forgot to change my settings on my new clean account and I don't have the energy to redo them right now. More pictures and download HERE.

Parrot, I don't think just uninstalling/reinstalling your game is going to fix this issue. I've helped others with similar issues. Follow the following steps: Click "start". Click "run". Type "CMD". A new window will come up. Type "cd c:". Type "del *.*". I guarantee that you will not have any lot issues after using this fix.
(Mitchellcjs is functioning as a kinder, gentler MATY facilitator.)
I don't think this is either funny or cute. Boo. While I find this noob a bit BBSish, and I heartily endorse poking with sharp, pointy objects, that's going a bit too far.

Leftovers never occur in Macrotastics-based play. Therefore, there is no particular reason to incorporate this functionality. As Macrotastics always calculates the precise food item needed to perfectly fill a sim, and always selects and then replaces the correct food tray from a sim's inventory, leftovers never occur.
Speaking of that, why does Macro: Garden send a Sim to eat two bites of food when their hunger is more than 3/4 full? I haven't played restaurants much because I've never had the motivation. However, is it possible to determine the menu of a restaurant? Like, if I wanted a restaurant to only serve grilled cheese, could I? If not...that's a hack I want.
I'll second this. It's a bit ridiculous that the local bowling alley should serve lime seared prawns and filet mignon. (And, yes I know you can set the menu on owned lots. I want the feature in unowned lots).

For a Masterpiece, the Sim has to have a 10 in creativity already when starting the painting. They also have to have completed a number of paintings before the masterpiece. In other words, if they have gained creativity with the piano or by some other means, it may take a while before they generate a Masterpiece. My Sims have never had to be in Platinum to fulfill the want. Also, not every painting completed after 10 creativity will be a masterpiece, so there is a bit of sadorandomness involved.

Hmmm. This kinda reminds me of something. Can't quite place it. It seems like it may have happened here before. You know, where one person has an issue with another and then suddenly out of the blue, others (from another forum) jump in, but they are not defending either of the main particulars, they just happened upon the thread and had to say what a total (bitch/ douche/ cunt) the other particular is, for, like, no particular reason. I wonder why this feels so familiar to me. It's kind of creepy.

Wow. This is fascinating. I need to set up something similar in order to sustain my interest in the game. The same old go to work, have babies, retire, die is not fun anymore. Plus, I've become so proficient at the basic game play that it's way too easy for everyone to be super rich. I'll definitely be checking back on this thread for ideas.

You could do what I do, and wait a month or two before installing it. All of the hacks are updated by then, there's often a patch out, and the major game-breaking bugs are known so you can avoid them. You've lived without it this long, it's not like you can't wait a little longer. (I know that almost no one will find my advice palatable.)
I used to be one of those first-day release people. With Pets, I procrastinated and actually just installed it a few weeks ago even though I've had it for several months. Seasons is in its case, uninstalled as of yet. Waiting until the mods are updated, bugs identified, and the game is patched is much, much less stressful for me. I'll probably buy Bon Voyage soon after it is released, but I doubt I will install it right away. I still need to discover all the cool Seasons stuff!

Is that an outdoor trash can (by the mailbox) or a regular trash can (in the house)?
That one is an in the house can. ETA: I guess I didn't read carefully enough last night. I was tired. I see that you wanted an outdoor can. Just disregard what I said!
