TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / The Only Just Permaplat Challenge
|

Here's a challenge for you:
Take a freshly-made CAS Sim (any age, any aspiration, any personality) and try to get him/her to permaplat status with the lowest possible Aspiration Point Score. The A.P.S. is defined as the number of Aspiration points he/she has left on achieving Permaplat status, plus any points he/she has already spent on Aspiration rewards.

For example, I packaged one of these sims in an empty lot: it took 1 hour and 40 minutes (not joking), and the resulting package spreaded about 24000 files, once installed. Ok, it was a sim about 2 (real) years old, but it was only ONE, single, CAS sim, with no parents and no offspring ever, dammit! Woo. Drop 24000 people into your neighborhood and it will instantly go SKOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I think we've just found the ultimate strategy for the Scorched Earth Challenge.

I'm with Pes on this one. Besides, what is your toddler doing out of his/her room? Kid should be drinking smart milk and skilling. And, for preference, skilling in a room full of snapdragons. That way they don't have to waste valuable skilling time on such time-consuming activities as eating and excreting.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: cat beds that dogs won't use and vice versa ...

After playing a while, I have come to the conclusion that we need a "dogs stay off" catbed and a "cats stay off" dogbed. I had it set up for dogs to sleep outside and cats to sleep inside (small house -- no room for both inside). But there was no way to keep dogs outdoors and cats indoors. They randomly chose beds in etiher place.
That sounds like the way real cats and dogs act. Or to be specific, the dogs choose whichever beds the cats deign to leave for them.

It would be great if the dogs could act as nannies. I think they would do a better job of it than the actual nannies. Yes, but there are things growing in my garden that would do a better job of it than the actual nannies.

A question: how often did the lack of a car come into play early on? Did you miss any "Daily Double" promotions (full work shift -> partial shift, for two promotions that day)?
Ah yes, Daily Doubles. I like those. There's at least one career track (Science) where you can do a "Daily Treble" - Science Teacher -> Project Leader -> Inventor -> Scholar.

Silly me. I should know by now that just because a sim rolls up a certain want doesn't mean the want can actually be satisfied.
Well, quite. Denise Jacquet regularly rolls up the fear of catching her husband cheating. That's her DEAD husband, ladies and gentlemen.

This is the sort of challenge that makes me wish TS2 had some sort of proper scenario-creation facility; I'd like to play this challenge, but would probably forget the rules at some point and do something illegal without realizing it. It'd be great if you could set the game up so that it actually prevented you from breaking the challenge rules.

Yes it's necromancy, but what they hey - this is a slow forum, and it's only being bumped up a half dozen positions.
I don't think Necromancy applies to the Challenges forum - the Challenges are designed to be available and commentable on at any time.

So is the lifetime high enough to help it otherwise?
meh... yeah, I like giving my families a bunch of kids because I enjoy the chaos and the challenge. So having the oldies adopt to add the additional difficulty of the time limit and the limited budget just made it a lot more interesting.
And additionally, if they both die before the adoptee goes to university, he/she gets a little more in scholarships.
