1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Simlish fonts on: 2010 September 27, 16:29:24
As I was searching for Simlish fonts in the new style I stumbled upon this thread. I'm not into necrophilia, but I just have to give you the great answers I found to the same question:

1) A discussion noting the differences between the Sims2 and the Sims3 fonts, in case you were wondering how different they are
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/43865.page

All the following links are for the new, Sims3, style font...

2) A TimesNewRoman style of simlish font

3) A ComicSansSerif style of simlish font

4) A gothic calligraphy style of simlish font

Hey, thanks for letting us know!
Probably many other people knew... but I didn't. So thanks.
3  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Hack Descriptions on: 2009 February 07, 04:14:35
Just write all the descriptions into one document, zip, attach and post one new thread (either here, in Pescado or BastDawn agrees it would be useful, or in Peasantry). It isn't rocket science. No need to be a spammer and/or pain in the arse.

witch, that isn't true. Senators have spork power!

Sporks are made of win.

In other news, the idea of a single new thread does appeal. I'll go see what I can cobble together.
4  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Hack Descriptions on: 2009 February 06, 05:39:12
Senators actually have no powers whatsoever.  Grin

Hahah! I just figured that she had experience in the forum.

Since she is my senior and until I hear anything to the contrary I guess I'll follow her advice and just not post anything. I have all my zips and stuff now, so it won't help me any to do all that work. I wanted to do it to help out the Forum and the new members, but if it's not helpful then I won't bother.

Yes, we will mind if you make a bunch of new threads when you can easily add any needed information to THIS thread.  And don't double post.

I can easily add any needed information to this thread... here's the flaw in that:
People have to wade through unrelated posts when looking for any questions and answers about a specific zip.
I don't ask to do this without reason to fill the forum with useless information, I just want to make it easier for users.

About double-posting:
I did it in case moderators thought the information in the second topic was waaaaay too out of topic, to make it easier to delete. I notice you're a Senator and I guess you know what you're about, so if you generally would rather I just don't double post then I'm good with just not doing it.
6  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Templates on: 2009 February 05, 20:12:23
So... I'll start making the other ages? Let's say I'll start working on 26 and submit it for your approval before making a template. Which I will also submit for posting.

Aaaaand you could start from 1, 3, or 4? (The other end). Then we'll meet in the middle and have it done definitely before you uninstall Sims 2 again? :-)

Or if you think you'd rather do it all by yourself I'm happy to wait.

I understand this, because I am not one to laugh at the local stop sign.

Some of the Japanese or Welsh transliterations of various serious signs are pretty hilarious though!!

Also, I am considering changing my username to "spacejolrei".  The OP has made me realize that "space" is a super cool prefix for a username.
Be careful of others' assumptions though! The space comes with being an ADD space cadet. Although the more uncharitable might think that it has to do with the contents of my cranial cavity. *LOL*  Grin  I like the implied sparkliness of space though. And the bounciness of the cub. And the independence and ferocity of the wolf. :-)  What does Jolrei mean?

Awesome, thanks!   Cheesy

I have everything except a few SPs, but including M&G, so I guess I'll edit this post later to report on any BFBVFS or lack thereof.

signs are not funny = you know how sims will look at wall hangings and then laugh? this stops that. because it's stupid.

Ah, thank you nekonoai, that is a much more useful answer than "it does what it says" which doesn't identify which signs it is referring to. I didn't assume that's what it meant because I rarely see sims doing that.  Grin

signsarenotfunny is available as a separate download, complete with its own RTFM explaining what it does.

I did a search for "signsarenotfunny" and came up with ZERO posts. I went to the Advanced Search and typed in "signsarenotfunny" and searched All boards. Nothing. So if the separate download is somewhere in the folders at http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/ I guess in future I'll do a google search on that site in particular. Thanks.  Undecided

lesssuckskating fixes the EAxis borkinating of the skating skill, that prevents sims from getting better at skating (I think; it was discussed in the middle of a thread/#grah at some point).

Oh, wow! And it is not an obsolete fix yet? OUCH!!  Shocked Thanks for letting me know, I did the same search as I described above and found nothing. NOTHING! *tear* Heh...

Do you think anyone would mind if I started making threads in this forum posting the zip URL in http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/ along with the description in its RTFM?

I know PS didn't want to do it himself... but I don't think he'd care if someone else did either? Am I wrong?

ARISE FROM THE DEAD, OH THREAD OF AWESOMENESS! CALL FORTH THY MISTRESS THAT SHE MAY HEED MY PLEAS (and bribes)...

Dear wonderful fabulous beloved Nailati, I have two proposals for you:

1) You mentioned a while back:
Quote
Okay, but seriously, dude, dog, dude, I'm ready to whack these into shape now. See, I had this commission thing? Where I did some crap, kinda like this crap, but then someone gave me money? I know, it was weird. And I would have called, but stuff happened, and you know how it is.

So I was wondering, how much would I have to donate to you through paypal to lay claim to your time to complete ONE of the beta templates? Or if I can afford it, more than one. I realize that real life happens and time is money. I want your time, I will give you what money I can afford. Anyone else willing to help buy her time away from real life? Of course results are free for all on this thread then.

2) If you absolutely do not want to do any more templates for a few months or so:
Quote
Y'all are free to take the faces and do with them as you will. A while back I got a pm from someone who wanted to know if they could make some templates based on my #2, and I'll state here publicly what I told them: absolutely. If you use my faces as a starting point for your own, I would very much appreciate credit, but you do what you want.

Would you accept my humble offerings of adapting the BETA templates to the other ages so they look related? So you could tweak them if anything is horrible and template-ize them? But I'd much rather have your original stuff... unless my giving you some templates to tweak would inspire you to rework them to truly meet your standards? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Aside from the fact stated in the subject line, and the implied thankyous and dancing in joy...

I need to ask if this has been tested in AL?
Anyone see any BFB on NASA reports?
12  Awesomeware / The Armory / Are these considered undiscovered shinies? on: 2009 February 04, 11:48:32
I downloaded moreawesomethanyou-al.zip
I then crawled uphill, on elbows and belly, accross the lava-flooded seemingly interminable plain of endless sulforous pain that is finding zip descriptions...  Roll Eyes

After (I kid you not) 12 hours and 33 minutes (give or take bathroom breaks and one food break) I have come to the conclusion that no one has defined or even discussed the function of the following zips:
lessgamerage.package
lesssuckskating.package
signsarenotfunny.package
snapdragonpets.package

Now, as near as I can guess:
snapdragonpets == craftable snap dragon flowers affect pets (presumably just dogs and cats, not birds or hamsters)
lesssucksckating == faster gain in skating skill (if there is such a thing)

What in the name of Fat and Non-Fat and Half-Fat No-Whip Double-Shot Gwilly People are: lessgamerage and signsarenofunny? Huh
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: n00b question: Why can't I see the Firing Range? on: 2009 February 03, 22:53:51
THANK YOU!  Cheesy

May I suggest someone put that information in the FAQ?
There are still threads all over this forum and other forums directing people to the MATY Firing Range.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / n00b question: Why can't I see the Firing Range? on: 2009 February 03, 22:31:00
I looked and looked! I searched, googled, browsed...
I read the FAQ... I followed the Firing Range link there...

It said that either it doesn't exist or I'm not allowed to see it.  Sad

Could anyone tell me what I need to do to earn admittance?
