26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The "Where Can I Find This CC?" Thread - Because you fail at Google on: 2011 December 20, 18:39:24
Is there a mod anywhere which will drastically decrease the energy and hygiene loss when fixing up the junk car which came with Freetime? I've spent the past hour searching for one (MTS, Insim, Google, here) but I can't find anything.
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Pets patch 1.29 on: 2011 December 19, 04:47:28
*snip*
Ever since I installed the 1.29 patch last night, I've had my sound cutting out and not coming back on. The sound plays as normal on load up, then about an hour or so after play, it cuts out. How typical of EA to "fix" things, and break a million other things.

Can you provide a bit more info? Does the sound cut off completely but come back after a while, all at once? If so, that's a problem that has been around for a while with no known cause, as far as I know.

The sound doesn't come back on after a while. It took me a while to actually realise that the sound had turned off completely. I first noticed it in CAS. In CAS the background music tends to cut out after a song or two, but the sound effects play as normal. Last night when the sound cut out, I figured that was the case again. Only the sound effects (changing clothing options, outfits etc) when clicking the buttons were not playing and the sim wasn't saying anything either. The last time it happened, I had my sim teaching his dog to speak, as the interaction started, all sound cut out again once more. I continued playing for a few minutes, then saved and quit the game.

EDIT: What is PEBCAK?

Oh no! Someone who isn't able to give any information (when you actually could give information), post in the right thread and fails at even the most basic of grammar has called me a 'sarcastic asshole'. What ever will I do. My feelings, they have been hurt  Smiley

Alttbm. Thank you for that overly descriptive post, explaining exactly what the problem is and for posting in the right thread. Someone should really make a bug report thread for this kind of stuff.
31  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2011 December 03, 12:15:29
With the latest build of AM installed, I'm having severe bouts of random crashing while playing. As well, when I save and go to exit the game to the desktop, it crashes every single time. I removed AM and play-tested again and had no crashes at all.

I'm with base game 1.26, World Adventures, Ambitions, and Late Night.

Do you have any other CC in your game? Have you cleared out your caches? I've had AM installed (with everything installed minus Town Life) and I've experienced no problems. I did experience once instance of crashing when Pets first came out, but that has since been fixed and as far as I've read, the crashing problems seem to have ended.
32  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2011 November 30, 17:43:22
This could be AM related or not. I doubt it is, but I figured I would mention it just in case. Starting a new town (Appaloosa Plains), I used the Destroyallhumans command and created a family (man and dog) and moved them in. A few days of game time passed and my dog was guarding the house. A burglar came (the silly dog did nothing, but I figure he needs to be trained or something), only the burglar was invisible. The music played and I figured it was because the dog was guarding. But from nowhere, a white sack appeared in the bathroom and the toilet and sink were stolen. The police came and had a fight with thin air (and lost). This was about 5 minutes of real world time and the burglar still didn't show up.

EDIT: I should probably add that I am using the latest version of AM.

34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Pets- Whats borked thread on: 2011 October 22, 03:34:29
I get a jump bug of sorts. I've only played the Pets twice since I got it on Thursday, the first time I noticed that pets actions cancel themselves out, but it goes in a loop with the animal (in both cases a dog and a horse), where the pet will autonomously try to do something, then the action gets cancelled, then it tries repeating it again and it goes in a cycle.

Yesterday while playing with a horse, I put it in the stable thing and it "jumps" outside it. I also get a lot of path errors above the animals head saying that something is blocking the object (when it clearly isn't).

Another thing (which could be normal) is I got a scenario when moving in a family (Single Sim and Horse) and had the meteor scenario. The soot smudges on the floor were going under objects and the sim couldn't clean them (in this instance, a fridge and driveway). The sim was also unable to access the garage using the garage door (but this could be a path issue, the sim was trying to clean a covered soot smudge).

Overall, this has to be the buggiest game I've got. I've always been fortunate to not get any issues with new EPs.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 September 08, 22:15:28
You would have thought that EA would have had the sense to put lots down that they could actually fit on. I've got no problem if they aren't at the road properly, I can delete and rotate them, it's when the only lot sizes are far too large and they are swimming in a sea of grass. I prefer my lots to fit snuggly with the boarder. And 9 times out of 10, the lot placement doesn't allign with the road or you can't place them anywhere.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 September 08, 11:06:01
I haven't looked at the Fountain of Youth object yet, but I am generally unimpressed with the neighborhood.  You kind of have to admire EA's big brass ones for charging $20 for something that pales in comparison to what cc creators generally give away for free.

I have to agree with you there. I downloaded it and had a look, it looks like a bland and thrown together neighbourhood. The only thing I liked about it was one of the lots on the mountain that gave a really good view of the town, but apart from that, I am greatly unimpressed. I also can't understand why the lots which came with Ambitions suffer the same problems that a new Sunset Valley and Bridgeport are just thrown down and don't even face the street.

38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Laptop Recommendations? on: 2011 September 04, 02:58:58
I realized later that I didn't give enough information on the laptop I mentioned before, so here it is  Wink

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506)
System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
System Model: Satellite C660D
Processor: AMD E-350 Processor (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics
Display Memory: 2983 MB
Current Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)

It can play the game OK on high settings, but I find that it renders the textures a little bit faster with a few settings turned to medium (I think it's the Sim Detail, but I could check). The games I have installed are The Sims 3 (obviously), WA, AMB, LN, GEN and Outdoor Living Stuff.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Laptop Recommendations? on: 2011 September 02, 22:08:19
The HP Satellite C660/C660D is a good one. I have that one and it is able to play it really well and it doesn't overheat. It loads quite quickly and while it can play the game really well on medium to high settings.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Jfadeworld - A New Pudding Destination on: 2011 July 27, 01:29:52
That would be great. I'm loving the lay out of it as it is now, but I've not actually played it yet. It wasn't out of badness for the world, I just found it a little distracting that there weren't any trees and hills in the distance  Undecided.

Are there any spawners in the game?
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Jfadeworld - A New Pudding Destination on: 2011 July 25, 15:48:42
Will you be releasing a version for people to edit in CAW? I love the look of this world, but I haven't played it yet. All that I would want to change is to add some trees and hills in the distance, other than that, it's perfect.  Kiss
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Less Hunger Satisfaction With Fresh Food. on: 2011 May 08, 01:14:47
Thank you, that was exactly what I was loking for. I have never heard of that site, but I'm glad that I have also found more of Leester's work. So double thanks.

I did do a search, both on here and with Google. Google didn't really help, it spat out stuff about guides and stuff.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Less Hunger Satisfaction With Fresh Food. on: 2011 May 07, 22:59:30
Hello  Smiley

I've tried searching, but I've come up with nothing.

Anyway, I've recently started a new neighborhood where everyone relies on everyone else and not service people or unowned community lots. I created a farming family and they produce all the food for the NH, which is great, in theory. However, now that everyone is eating fresh food, they are all getting fat because fresh food gives more hunger satisfaction.

Is there a hack anywhere that stops sims from getting so much hunger satisfaction when eating fresh food. It's great for my sim who owns the local gym, but it's annoying that I'm having to make sims work out every day to try and bring their fitness up a bit (which depletes when eating the next meal).

TL;DR?  Wink

I don't like how much hunger satisfaction Sims recieve when eating fresh food; is there a hack or mod that removes this annoyance feature?

Thanks.  Smiley
44  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2011 April 20, 16:31:34
Is there a large file anywhere which contains ALL of the Sims 2 Store downloads and fixes? The links in the first post are no longer working. I thought I had all the items, but it seems I don't.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 April 08, 09:28:31
Hey. I've tried searching for a fix for this problem, but I'm not seeing anything useful.

I downloaded a few of the Store things in the other thread and when I install them, they don't appear in my game, and when I close the launcher and reopen it, any content that was said to have installed is no longer there.

Like I said, I've tried searching for a fix around, but all I've seen is people asking the same question and not many replies to it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Smiley

What can be done about this?

Question about the Razor1911 game and the Reloaded WA game.

What I done was completely uninstalled the game because it wasn't working. I reinstalled it and downloaded a patch that brought the game from 131 to 166, then installed the patch that brings it up to date. http://games.softpedia.com/progDownload/The-Sims-3-Patch-Download-43741.html you can get them from here. After that you can install WA.

I have managed to get the horrid lines off of my sims, I had changed a setting in my ATI driver when trying to fix the crashing to desktop problem. The crashing is still happening though. I've tried a fair amount to try and sort it, but nothing. I have been using that FPS tool, and it still happens. My computer is capable of playing it, but it doesn't want to.
If anyone can help, I'd much appreciate it.

49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 03, 01:12:47
When I got the legit copy, I uninstalled pirate copy and then rebooted, then installed the new one.  I could register my serial, and use the launcher...but it still tells me in the launcher welcome window that I have an unauthorized copy.

That is very strange, I have an arrred version, and I had forgot to d/c from the internet when I had the launcher opened. I get full access to all the online features, and it quite happily informs me that my game is up to date. The only thing is that it won't install the store items, I had to use Pescado's tool for that.

Now that you have said that, I remember reading that. I stand corrected it seems.
