1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ashfordville: A Teenie-Tiny CAW Town (In Progress) on: 2010 January 31, 23:48:26
Updated Screenshots (without fog this time)  Wink

The "poor" end of town, including a 10X10 lot for homeless sims.

A view of the lake, and the lot I built for my hippie commune.

Finally, your business district.  All businesses and city services in a central area of town.  No more driving halfway up the mountain to get to the science labs.

I based the field layout on that of the town that I currently live in.

Thank you for the fence suggestion.  I added some fencing to the "poor" area of town, along with a little fire pit and place for my drug addict or homeless sims to hang out.  I may add a very tiny residential lot in that area for good measure.

And yes, I know that I can take the fog off.  I just wasn't sure if that was standard, i.e., if people wanted to see how it looked exactly in game.

It's still a work in progress, but here is the town I've been working on for awhile.  Ashfordville!

Before you say that's it's too straight and deliberate - that was my intention.  I wanted a town that wouldn't push me into an OCD-induced twitch fest.

There are 55 residential lots, and 21 community lots.  There's a trailer/poverty district, and the largest residential lot is only 40x30.

I know it may be too small for many of you, and it still needs some work, but I thought I'd share.  Maybe get some advice on how to give it that "wow" factor.

Thanks, Dyme.  I'd like to work on it, if you don't mind, but only for my own use.  However, I will need the additional folder in order for me to tweak it in CAW.  The one containing the layers and lots.  Would you mind uploading those files?

I think it's lovely.  Again, I love smaller neighborhoods.  Do you plan to landscape the other side of the map?  I notice the hills/mountains look a little jagged.

I would totally download and use this if the landscaping were just bit softer.  Too many plants in the water, and the tree placement seems to be a little...deliberate?  Otherwise, it's perfect.  Really.  I love the small-town feel.

Would you be willing to upload the .world files so that people who just want it for in-game use can tweak it?

Don't download it!  It's a mess of a patch.  My game now crashes every single time my sim tries to use a phone.

Ugh, I hate memories.  I tend to get all OCD and freak out when a Sim gains an memory that doesn't fit my master plan.
Sim PE's memory adjustor has always worked for me, though it's been a little wonky lately.

Is it just me or are the lots just way too big?  What the hell kind of house am I going to build on a 40x40 lot?
I guess I'll just try to stick with 20X30 and 30X40.

Yeah, I don't even know how to get to the options dialogue in the first place, though.  See, this is my screen.

...now where is this options tab?  I simply can't find it and I feel silly.

I'm not seeing an output tab.  All I see is the main screen.  Is there something really obvious that I'm missing?
Lemme include a screenshot.

Hi everyone!

I just discovered the genius that is the brilliant Color Binning plug in for SimPE. I've read through Theo's tutorial a dozen times over, but I can't figure out one small thing.

I simply don't understand how I access/open the options dialogue in order to save and export the file! I feel silly because I just can't find it. Can someone please assist me? I would really, really appreciate it!

Thank you!
Elizabeth Jane
