51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 18, 20:58:34
When I was trying to get my store objects to appear after patching, I used the multi installer on all my cc.  It took over 15 minutes to load a saved game.  I then went back and discovered I forgot to put the dbc file in the mods package.  Luckily I made a backup copy of all my downloads, so I put them back into the downloads file.   I did have two newly created files in downloads after I patched, but when I put my back ups back in, I only had the .nav file.  All the store and other cc is still showing up in my game.

I've been having the occasional random freezes.  They tend to show up when I play for 2-3 hours without saving. I also tend to use streaming audio so I can listen to my talk radio station while I play.  I don't know if it's related but yesterday when my internet became unavailable for a few seconds, my game slowed way down to almost a dead stop, then went back to normal when the internet reconnected.  I shall talk to my Personal Computer Geek about the issue.

Since the Geek and I have been debating the merits of a new video card for my computer (the Geek--it's fine; Me--need a new one), I shall show him this thread.
53  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 10, 22:09:02
Pulled out Indie mode once I learned it wasn't going to be supported.  I only have awesomemod and it's story progression now.

Open a cheat box and type "listhomeless". If you played this hood with indie for any length of time there are probably a shitload of homeless clones and recent versions of awesomemod is doing a much better job of putting them into houses.

l
Best I can tell they aren't being put in houses.  I'll go do a search using "homeless" to see if I find any threads that offer suggestions.

I noticed that I was continually getting notices that two families are continually trying to find a house to move into and fail.  Since I can't find a house with their name on it, am I to assume that they are homeless?  I finally configured awesomemode so that I don't get notices as I was tired of the popup.  Now when a sim reads the newspaper, I see 5-6 notices each that Family "X" and Family "Y" has moved.  Is this a bug or a feature?
56  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: 1.4 patch is now out on: 2009 August 07, 03:03:01
Is it even necessary to download the patch then?
57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Indy Stone Mod development stops - News at 9 on: 2009 August 06, 04:11:36
After installing AwesomeStory, I managed to have one spontaneous pregnancy.  Unfortunately it occurred to my matriarch the one time I switched lots so I could check on one of her adult children. There was much raving, ranting and gnashing of teeth on my part as it had not occurred to me to make any family sacred. At least the baby's father was the matriarch's husband.  Roll Eyes

Need to put cribs in all the houses keep up the gene pool?  *Sigh*

Good to get better details of how awesomemod's story progression works.  I'll reconfigure awesome mod to try it.  I'll see if the youngest notices a difference when he plays.   Grin

Ok, that clears up my confusion. I shall wait for feedback from the other beta testers.

Says that both Indie Stone and Awesome story mode are enabled in the RFM. Am I to remove the Indie stone and disable it in the config?  Surely one isn't to use both the Indie Stone and the Awesome storyo mod at the same time?

Did you delete the 4 caches again after you deleted awesomemod?  Did you remove the enablescripterror? My game won't play with the old version in so I game without it now.   Is your enablescripterror the most recent update from MTS?

ETA: I purchased my game from Target.

I assure you it's true in my case.  Tongue

I had to clarify this with Pescado.  If you have Sims 2 aging enabled, then the only the sims you play age.  However the clock will change uniformly across the neighborhood.  Once I realized that, I disabled Sims 2 aging.  Part of the enjoyment of Sims 3 is that it is different from Sims 2.

Yes, those are listed here. Click on each ep link and look for Obsolete.
65  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Wants Controller #93 error on: 2008 November 23, 02:09:58
Since I've installed Mansion and Gardens, I've gotten this error when loading a lot.  So that I didn't get the "tight pants" suggestion, I have updated all of my Pescado mods, Lord Datcy mods. and checked on the others.  I even pulled any mod relating to food and the ltwvarity and wfsanity on the off chance they were contributing to the problem, but still had the same problem.  Any suggestions to resolve this problem would be appreciated. I have attached my error log.

Ok, I don't want to use the launcher for this stuff pack.  I tried to use SP9 to replace launcher in target under properties but that didn't work.  Any suggestions?

ETA:  Nevermind.  It's amazing what one can discover when one reads the "Read Me".   Embarrassed

So your M&G installed and loaded with AL installed as well?  There's a whole new thread that alleges that M&G is incompatible with AL.

I didn't have any problems installing it.  It appeared to be working fine but I didn't do more than check the hair styles, and objects.  I did notice that the "stuttering" music was back when I started the game plus it appeared to load more slowly.  I really need new processors and bigger memory sticks.

The AL CEP has been out since the middle to late September.

So just ignore this patch? It can stay on my desk top.

My college age daughter has her game on another account on my computer.  She knows that having the Sims on her computer at school will too distracting.  Periodically I drop the most recently updated mods into her files.

i'm pretty sure that i didn't see any "Walk to school" voice on the menu, but i'll check it again later Wink

You won't see "walk to school" on the menu until after the time the bus would come and leave. It seems like I can use that feature after 9 a.m. on Monday through Friday. Typically I only use it on move in day.

The Awesome Game does not have these issues due to an Undiscovered Shiny that Fat Gwilly People haven't asked for yet.

Undiscovered Shiny?  Care to elaborate?
Then it would be DISCOVERED.

Fair enough.

I had the same problem with the phone at the Green house.  Once I deleted and replaced it, no problems.

SJ, I have the same problem with the desk and the homework.  The student places the homework beside the computer and then can't pick up the homework.
