Answers to questions: 1) The lots are for Night Life 2) I did install with Clean Installer. To to be sure, I tried to reinstall one with Clean Installer and this error box came up: "System.Xml.Xml Expection........" with various lines.
I swear that error box didn't show up before. *bangs head on desk*
Now what? Any suggestion is welcome!

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Lots not showing up in lot bin
|
on: 2005 December 22, 13:44:07

I have been creating a new neighborhood for my game. I have have found the "perfect" lots to go with my theme. These lots are all made by the same designer. Most of the lots have loaded without any problems, but four lots never show up in my lots bin. I can find the custom content in the downloads folder.
At first I thought that terrain paints was the main source of the problem, but one lot doesn't have it. Any suggestions on how to work through this issue? Thanks.

For what it's worth, I downloaded the NL patch without problems. The only hacks I had were TJ's college adjuster and Mertorola (sp) mirror. I didn't think to back up anything. I played for an hour without unusal events occuring.

Tom, when I first started having problems with University, I didn't have any errors logs show up in the logs your form references. I finally sent a screaming rant on my report and stopped sending anything. If I should buy Nightlife, have bugs, and the logs show no error logs, what would the patch team need to see? Information from the cheat box? Thanks.

If we hold off and not buy Nightlife until after October that could lower this quarter's profit. I'm still waiting for the patchs before I buy Nightlife.

Maybe there should also be an option for them to browse More Awesome Than You. Because apparently people do this all day.
*Cough* Trubble*Cough* Go drink plenty of fluids (juice or water) and gargle with salt water. That should help that cough.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Computer offers only one job

One sim was a university grad. The other was a teenager. I've changed computer's with no success. I'd hate to have to move the Grunt family out of their house to find out that won't work. I'll try it with another family. Thanks for the suggestions.

My geek just added another 512 of RAM to my computer to put me at 1 GB of RAM. So far I'm quite happy with how fast my game and the lots load now. At this point I can use the highest graphic settings without lagging. Since I'm waiting to get Nightlife, this upgrade should be adequate for now. Edit: 2 GHZ processor; Radeon 9550 graphics card. I've been begging for a better graphics card, but my geek said he wouldn't put it in if I bought one. Since it would very dangerous for my game for me to attempt to install anything, I'll be happy for what I have.

We're begining to get displaced families in our little N. TX town. Today one of the kids enrolled at the school I was working. She said her family decided to leave two days before the hurricane hit. They were planning on riding out the storm until the police told the father, "If you don't leave now, I'm afraid you'll be carrrying out those kids in body bags." She said they think their house is under 12-20 feet of water (east of New Orleans).

Since I've been on the band wagon about the stand alone patch for university, I thow that in any chance I get. I figure the squeakly wheel gets the oil, or the lower the 4th quarter sales, the faster the patch comes out.

For whatever it was worth, my rc car "didn't have aspirations" when my game developed the blank icon bug. My hubby fixed the bug by doing whatever kmlough's thread suggested. I stopped using the car after that. Within a week I had so many game stopping bugs, I finally decided to use third party "fixes". I wonder if the blank icon bug signals when a neighborhood reaches critical mass.

Option 3 is my choice. I had hoped that Maxis would have the stand alone patch out, so my family wouldn't have to ask me what I wanted for my birthday. I'll admit I bought Universiity the day it came out. I installed it and didn't have any problems for two months--then the bugs showed up. Even if there was the stand alone patch, I want to wait and see what the problems are.

Both my BS and MS are in nursing so I guess that makes me not one of the artsy people. I do love to sew and do needleart (well, I did before I owned the Sims2). The thing I love about the Sims is that I control their lives in a way that I can't control my family's lives.
