1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The "Where Can I Find This CC?" Thread - Because you fail at Google on: 2010 July 19, 23:05:41
Does anybody know if someone made a suit of armor statue? I'm making a medieval castle, and I really need some.
Check around MTS.  They do lots of themed objects there, and I'm pretty sure I've seen either armor suits or an ensmallened version of the OFB Giant-Ass Knight Statue there.

Oh, crap. I checked that site all day and couldn't find anything, but I decided to look again and search the earliest objects and found it on the second to last page. "Knight" didn't get anything in the search bar, but "Knights" did.  Roll Eyes

I'm not sure if I am going to be able to finish this house because I'm having trouble designing the inside and the outside, so here's two pics of what I got done so far just in case I never finish it.

(I wish I would have remembered to remove the mailbox and trashcan from the view  Tongue)

I also forgot to change the style of the stairs, although I might just delete them and have a dirt walkway.

I tried to create something different than I normally do, something more whimsical, so here's my lot for the month:

The Flying Pegasus Garden

Inside eating area

Outside walking and eating places.

Very nice house chobeegal! I like the twist on a traditional pagoda style building, and the ground floor pool area, very creative!
6  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: November 2009 on: 2009 November 08, 23:16:36
I had nothing to do today so I got a house down already. It's a church based somewhat from a video game.

Front view

Back view (the dome covers the original two story octagon.)

First floor, seating area.

Overlooking the wrapped around balcony on the third floor.

Eating/Ball room

View from above. (The staircase leads to a secret room)

I'm uploading it, but I'd advise those with weak computers shouldn't download it, or at least modify it a little. The lot is 4 stories high filled with mirrors and surrounded by many trees, so removing some of the mirrors and trees will help for slower computers

I've tested it and everything is reachable. All EPs and SPs Download here
7  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: November 2009 on: 2009 November 07, 19:13:27
It definitely requires AL simsrocks. For the other EPs/SPs, it depends if chobeegal used the Anygame starter program to get this lot, or if she took it out of the game with all her current packs.

It doesn't look like a hard lot to recreate anyways, it's just an octagon with 4 walls for each side and 3 walls for each diagonal. Just make a 4X4 lot (judging by the pictures) and create the floating, octagonal house roughly in the middle of the lot. The trees are base game, the roof looks like it's from the base game, and the stuff inside would probably be deleted anyways. And if you wanted to, you can get some player-created spiral staircases from MTS2.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Ah what the heck, what's another row house? ... Luckily, I have another house I'm working on. I might have to break down though and get some worn out, grungy recolors.

I like both. Download links please?

I haven't finished decorating them yet, and I've been sick the past couple of days so I haven't been in the mood to finish them. If I feel better, I'll have them decorated and posted this weekend.

And how's your makeover coming along, Chobeegal? Usually you have 2 or 3 great uploads already.

To bestofsmall: Very nice dorm! You can upload pics directly to this site by registering* to a photo site like photobucket or imageshack and copying and pasting the URLs into your message.

*I think you don't even have to register for photobucket to upload pictures to the site, but I'm not a 100% sure.

Here's the download to the mosque in RAR format. I have all the EP's and SP's. And thanks for critiquing my lot Ciane and everyone else.
I couldn't really think of what to do with the pond, it was more in the way than anything else. I did change the fencing around a little
bit to section of the pond.

Really great houses everyone, I thought the octagon shape would be hard to work around, but a lot of you still made excellent
houses.

To Prosthetics: I think your latest house looks the best out of your other 3 houses. I really like the open area on the second floor
of the building.

11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: September 2009 on: 2009 September 20, 02:25:49
At first, I really disliked this floor plan, and was thinking about not entering this month at all. However, after I started to
play with some ideas and rejected many, I went with a middle eastern design and came up with this mosque. I never
stepped into a mosque, so I had to go by what I saw in pictures, and use the limiting, original game objects. So if
anyone has been to a mosque, please feel free to give some constructive criticism on how I can improve it.

The front view. The mosque has a "gold" dome with a single minaret.

Back view.

I seen an outside pic of a room with arches like these, but I couldn't see the inside so I made it like a cool, relaxing sitting room.

A pool/pond area with couches.

Second view of the pool

The prayer room. I went a lot on my memory for the room and some on the pictures I seen. I seen a picture
with people I think praying with a opulent chair in front of them, so that's why the chair is there. I need a lot
of help in this room, so I would be grateful if someone has any comments or pics to improve this sad looking room.

The neighborhood view, I thought it looked pretty cool from this view.

Could someone critique my garden and give me some tips on how I can improve it? Landscaping is usually the hardest part of decorating a house, and it's almost always a challenge to make a believable garden. Here's some pics of the gardening I added around the house.

Here's the right side of the house. It's a continuation from the bedroom's sunroom with a private eating/wining area.

Here's the back of the house, behind the outdoors dining area.

And here's the corridor on the right side of the house.

13  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: August 2009 on: 2009 August 22, 23:44:47
Here's my second house for the month. I couldn't think of anyway to extend the house, so I simply kept it one story
with a sunroom added to it.
I really like this house a lot. I agree with ciane on that unique wave to the roof edges. It's really quite attractive. I've done some experimenting with the roofs but never thought to do that. I'll probably use it on some I do after this. When might we see this up for downloading?

Thanks, I was trying to make the roof not look boring, and I tried this and thought it looked pretty cool.
Let me use the LotAdjuster real quick to flatten the lot and I'll get it uploaded soon.
14  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: August 2009 on: 2009 August 22, 20:50:07
I have to fix the lot edges and test it some more, so I might have the file uploaded by tomorrow.
Jorganza, did you ever finish your lot? If so, when might we see it uploaded?

Sorry for taking so long. Check my post on the first page to download it.

15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: shiftable paintings - did I break them? how? on: 2009 August 19, 15:37:49
Ok I think I figured out how to shift paintings and light fixtures using the Portuguese-Portugal keyboard.
Use the two keys to the right of the 0 (zero) key. If your keyboard looks like this:
http://www.sussex.ac.uk/its/help/guides/keyboards/italian.gif that means use the ? and ^ keyboard.
Whatever keyboard you have though, if it's using the Portuguese-Portugal setting found in Languages in the
Control Panel, then it will be the two keys to the right of 0. That's what shift paintings for me anyways using
the language bar>Portuguese (Portugal).
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: shiftable paintings - did I break them? how? on: 2009 August 18, 20:28:58
You use the [ and ] to raise and lower paintings, not Ctrl A. I don't think Ctrl A is used for anything. Use [ when you want to raise it up, and ] when you want to lower the object.

It's absolutely hot here in the south, so I'm bringing something a little bit colder.

Home for the Holidays.

View without snow

Living room filled with Christmas decor.

Dining/Kitchen

Single room

Master Bedroom.

Edit: Ok the file is uploaded. Sorry for taking so long. I had to decorate everything again because I didn't know moving a sim out of the house using boolprop still made the objects disappear.

House is around 71K and uses all EPs and SPs.

"love of cat(s)" as a translation is only acceptable if love isn't used as a verb, like in "my love of cats has no bound"

Well, if 愛 is a verb, I had not heard about it.  Additionally, "no" can only be used to mark subjects in relative clauses, and I think there are some restrictions on it then, too.  Also, the word "love" in the "the cat's love" is not a verb either, so I'm not really sure I see your point.

I meant that when I first read "love of cats" I assumed (wrongly) you were trying to use ai as a verb.
That's not the case now though.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 July 08, 22:07:17
Can be translated as follows and still be correct because "NO" doesn't have an English counterpart. It's merely a possessive marker.

"Cat of love"

"Cat's love"

No, try "love of cat(s)".  That is exactly what it means.  Those first two translations you gave are, in fact, wrong.

Wrong, the second one is indeed correct. The particle no gives possessive, so neko no ai would translate as (the) cat's love.

21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Restoring the neighborhoods folder from a backup to the current game on: 2009 June 02, 15:43:18
I'll try my best to help. First, are you saying you uninstalled M&G and never installed it back? As far as I know, but I could be
wrong, if you uninstall an EP or Sp, you cannot play the neighborhood you used to play until all the EP's and SP's are
installed again. If you did reinstall M&G, then you are good.

Secondly, if you did reinstall M&G, then yes you should be able to replace your neighborhoods. Just take out
all the old current neighborhoods out of the folder, and put in all your back-up neighborhoods. I would advise not just overwriting
the neighborhood files, just to be on the safe side.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Pets Uninstalled? What? on: 2009 June 02, 02:29:24
Ok, after I was bored with TS3, I wanted to go back to TS2 so I loaded up the game. After the game took more time to load than usual, I get a message saying that Pets has been uninstalled and playing a neighborhood will delete all the pets. I clicked the exit button and checked to see if Pets really was uninstalled, but the files appeared both under Program Files> EA Games>TS2 and under the Add and Remove program. Another thing, some of the neighborhoods I previously deleted, like Deserate (sp?) Valley, popped back up in the Neighborhood folders with folder names like E001 and G001.

I don't understand what happened, I never messed with anything nor have I uninstalled anything. I can't remember the last time I played, but I do remember not doing anything more than just check on a family. Does anyone have any ideas what in the world
happened?

Update: I decided to uninstall pets and reinstall it. Everything seems to be working now...

To simsdesperado: What is that thing to the left of the shark? I can't make it out if it supposed to be a buoy or a sim.

Edit to Zazazu: I just did some testing around. Apparently, if you have the game in windowed mode, the problem goes away,
and the darkening only occurs if you have it on full screen. However, I'm not getting the same problem as you have, both in windowed mode and full screen mode.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 May 31, 19:31:45
Tizerist, if you try to print screen the shot, it will also darken the picture. I can't think for the life of me why, but it does.
Also, do you have any lights? It looks like you don't have any (or none of them are on). Lights will help brighten up the place.
