226  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I need that Fight Club mod more than ever now. on: 2005 October 20, 10:32:14
Mine tend to cry in corners like a wuss too. It's quite unbecoming for someone who has actually started the fight in the first place. However, the fact that they do scrap more makes the game interesting and, while I haven't played NL long enough to see all the scenarios where a fight is likely to kick off, it does seem to be more prevalent Downtown. I think it's the drink to blame...  Wink

I've got that Fight Club mod installed, so I'll report back f I see anything untoward.

Well, I know I was kidnapped by aliens or, at least, dropped on my head at least once or twice!

And there's a lot to be said for national paranoia. Everybody should join in immediately and be certain that the rest of the world is hell-bent on getting you. I'm convinced of it.  Grin
228  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flaming Toilet on: 2005 October 19, 10:42:17
Indeed. I would have welcomed seeing some of the photographer's other work as the piece displayed conjoured up some really deep feelings, as I believe Art should. The pile of dirt only managed to conjour my mate and I leaning against a wall having a belly laugh. Which did no good for the artist as he was there talking at a podium to a small, but keen, audience. Some people you just can't take anywhere...  Grin
229  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: JMP and NL on: 2005 October 19, 10:37:08
I forgot about the "being in Gold" requirement and was puzzled (heh, brain fried as was veeerry tired) when something didn't work as expected. What a pillock! It was the Thinking Helmet, I believe, and the poor bugger just keeled over after peeing himself. I still laughed like a hyeana... Bad simmer, bad.  Cheesy

If one sim day is equal to one human year, how long woould Christmas dinner last?  Tongue

The same as in real life:  much too long!

That is one scary thought. My childhood Christmas' are noteable by the occurance of the huge family arguements that would brew from two days prior to an absolute explosion on Boxing Day. My, how I miss them (slight sarcastic tone here).
231  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Things We've Learned From The BBS on: 2005 October 19, 10:28:50
I learnt that "yuor not suposd 2 us geek talk on teh intrent". By that, they mean things like grammar, correct spellings and punctuation.

AAARRRGGGGGHHH! Head will explode if I see more of that crap...!  Angry Why, why, why, why, why?

And yup, Z.Z., that's the one. Bull diving analogous to sky diving.  Wink
232  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Holiday Addon pack announced on: 2005 October 18, 13:24:31
Grin Yeah, they were pricey too, $1.99 as I recall, could have bought more books...

Get your priorities in order, woman!
233  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flaming Toilet on: 2005 October 18, 13:18:57
Heh, you think that's bad? When my sister was in art college we went to look at the senior projects and I nearly tripped on this 2x4 piece of wood on the floor. I started complaining that they would just leave something like that out in the middle of the floor and went to pick it up when my sister told me it was someone's senior project.  Roll Eyes

I took a chance and went to a photographic exhibition at the local Modern Art Gallery(Ikon) in B'ham; went with a friend as we both enjoy that kind of stuff and certainly the publicity merited it. Huge piece of work showing the raddled corpse of a HIV sufferer who had died a few hours previously. We discussed it, as you would, it being somewhat contentious and showing similar style to Klimt, then decided that we would take in the rest of the exhibition. Except that was it.  Huh Eh?

A further look round the gallery revealed another exhibition...joy! A pile of dirt, with some brooms and a couple of shovels. Who says modern art is pretentious?
234  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: JMP and NL on: 2005 October 18, 13:08:55
With NL and for lots with vampires, tke control of a townie walking by on your lot and have them look in the vampire's coffin three times in a row.   Grin Pretty quick and no mess to clean-up - just a profit from selling the urn.  Grin

Cool. Will try that. Isn't it nice the things you can learn at MATY?
235  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I was given a birthday gift by EA on: 2005 October 18, 13:05:24
But didn't you know that the USA is THE only country in the world! All t'others merely satelites that wander across its vision as if from some wild faerie dream...  Grin
236  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Raiders of the Lost Sim on: 2005 October 18, 13:02:07
Oh yeah, Ghost Master. Had a great time with that. What happened to the sequel that was supposed to be coming out?
237  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Things We've Learned From The BBS on: 2005 October 18, 12:57:41
A someone has already said: Never go to the BBS.

When I was a naive young(er) simmer, I ventured out to the official boards without any knowledge of what awaited me, bravely (as it transpired) and ill-equipped for the depth of sewage. If I had known that you require an aqualung, flippers and drysuit, I would never dared go there! Five minutes left me breathless and starved of oxygen...any longer would have required rescusitation. Ah me... the dangers of deep bull diving.  Cheesy

Books - when I was 21 I went to Los Angeles for 10 days. When I came home I had a suitcase full of science fiction from 2nd hand shops.  Grin Oh and a pair of jeans.

Think you might have overdone it with the jeans...  Grin

240  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Raiders of the Lost Sim on: 2005 October 17, 10:18:48
I'm sure I saw Pirates offered for £15.00 in one of the supermarkets here... Will have to check that out.

And Spore looks as if it could be very fine indeed.
241  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flaming Toilet on: 2005 October 17, 10:02:19

244  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I was given a birthday gift by EA on: 2005 October 17, 09:35:17
I think "Good Grief" covers this topic quite nicely. *shakes head in bewilderment at total asininity*
245  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Raiders of the Lost Sim on: 2005 October 15, 15:38:45
It is depressing in gaming shops. As everyone has pointed out there is a real lack of games that could appeal to the female mind, and I really don't like violence, guns and so on that are generally populated by unfeasibly over-endowed girls. Perhaps it's just that we are not soo attracted to living in that virtual landscape that lads seem to find so fascinating or could it be, perhaps, that the "top-dog" competitiveness of these things is offputting?

And it is a very valid point Witch made about openendedness... a game is far more likely to intrigue me if the outcome is uncertain. So why aren't there more like this?
246  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: JMP and NL on: 2005 October 15, 15:15:26
I think I'm in favour of the alien theory.
247  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Holiday Addon pack announced on: 2005 October 15, 15:12:04
Not really into all those holiday extras either, though I know they are popular with lots of other simmers. But, a Samhein EP? Now that would be really cool...  Cheesy

I have no bookcases, so all my books are in piles all over my room Smiley The first time I went to my university library last week, I flipped out at all the books. I could quite easily live in it!

I could too. Libraries, book shops, particularly the second hand variety, are places I haunt on a regular basis. I'm very fond of Waterstones where I can grab a pile of books and spend ages sitting on the floor going through 'em. Books and shoes are the two best things in whole wide world!
248  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Holiday Addon pack announced on: 2005 October 15, 00:08:27

I buy people presents when I want to, when I can afford them and when I see something that just suits someone perfectly. 'Just because' presents. Just because I love them and not because bloody hallmark or coca cola tell me to. (Coca cola pretty much invented the modern santa though he's not as fat now as he was initially).

That'll be because of the DIET cola we are so lucky to have now, eh? And I utterly agree with your sentiment.
249  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: JMP and NL on: 2005 October 15, 00:05:31
Well I hope no-one succeeds before he's fixed Nightlife! Shocked

Yup... let's make certain the prioritis are in the right order. Maim, burn, poke with pointy things, but only after the EP is fixed goddammit!  Grin

Saggy old men parts... eeewwww! Always down to the lowest denominator. Shocking. Shocking.
250  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: JMP and NL on: 2005 October 13, 15:57:29

Of course, but not having seen many, erm, elder men au naturel, I didn't know if they tended to shrink or something.   Embarrassed
Next EP maybe we should chip in and send it to him express? Wink
Good idea, but it wouldn't work because it would require him to reveal his actual address (other than just the state of Montana).
[/quote]

Is the Hellmouth in Montana, then?

And, no, older men's bits don't shrink, rather they head south just as other saggy portions of the body might as you get older. So, I reiterate... eewww!
