Hey, J.M., splendid response!  Kiss
102  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A RUMOUR about the next expansion pack on: 2006 April 17, 11:39:21

Unless I can train the pets to bite ugly townies... that would increase the attraction of this pets thingy in the sims for me  Grin

This is a splendid idea and one worthy of plenty of attention. Why stop at townies, though? The applications are endless.

Now on to the "puritan" attitude. Yes, it's true it's been going on for a while, but once again, it's not everyone as a whole. The US is such a mix of all cultures that you can't pin this on America. Now, at the risk of beiing flogged by any of the "English" (as in England/Britain), users, if you must point a finger, the "puritans" came from there and settled here. LoL (maybe cuz they got ran out, which is what we should do too, but that's another issue...)

Hey don't look at us, we were standing at the dockside cheerfully waving them off and thinking, 'thank god for that'.

Indeed, and as soon as we could we went back to debauchery and total dismissal of anything that would stop us from doing it.  Grin

Heh... yeah.  Grin
105  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Possible to make genie NPC? on: 2006 April 11, 12:26:13
I would like to see all the idiot politicians burninated, and a egalitarian society with a green conscience put in place. Oh, and telepathy (with some controls), cos then you could "hear" what some sneaky SOB was thinking and pre-empt them. Way to get rid of arseholes.
106  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It feels so quiet in here... on: 2006 April 09, 12:16:40
Hiya all! *waves at MATY peeps* Missed you all - two days without MATY.  Cry  What a complete and utter pain in the rear this has been. Just so glad that putting two entries in the host file worked.

On the subject of the tosser/s who did this, I have some pincers I can put in the fire if some random torture would help?
107  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Squinge found something interesting... on: 2006 April 06, 18:16:27
Ain't it interesting that a so-called civilised society has this huge furore about breasts? Meh... it's all pants because, as someone else has probably pointed out, it is something that the developing nations have in perspective. The correct perspective, I hasten to add. Why, in some parts of the world a woman will suckle other animals (pigs noteably) because they have worth within that society! Not so certain you'd see that happening either here or in the USA. I think (ducks for cover and possibility of rocks) that our attitudes are rooted in religion and the sentiment that any sort of nudity is sinful.
108  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A RUMOUR about the next expansion pack on: 2006 April 06, 12:35:51
It's not just the Welsh or New Zealanders who're fond of sheeps, but East Side Scots... (Don't think I'll be visiting Edinburgh anytime soon  Grin).

I hated Vacation. It was dull. I liked Making Magic and that would be cool as the next EP. Why would we need to have pets except as an option? Surely Maxis could amalgamate... oh, silly me but we're talking money. Course they won't.
109  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge where are thou? on: 2006 April 06, 12:27:02
Gutted... Talented lady and damn funny too.
110  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I love you, you love me, we're one big happy family on: 2006 April 05, 09:14:13
You want *ME* to make *LESS* fighting? I DO NOT THINK SO!

I'm with you. The fighting makes me laugh.

Seriously, though, my grouchy sims are even more tetchy than they are usually. I tend to play mean buggers as they are more interesting than the somewhat insipid nice sims, and it is a bit disconcerting to have to turn the sound down (more, as I loathe the lift music TS2 comes with) because all they're doing is moaning and whining. What is funny is if you have a ticket machine installed on a home business and they come over to see a friend/lover because they will refuse to stay and just stamp off in a big huff.  Cheesy
111  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Squinge found something interesting... on: 2006 April 05, 09:04:16
I don't see a controversy either. Stop trying to make one. End of story.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program:
This is definitely interesting, but has the minor drawback that Squinge has overridden the global pie menu. Kind of a no-no. Maybe I should make a more awesome version.

J.M., get yer skates on and do this!

Breast v bottle? No contest as breast is best, and screw mammary fixation as they have a SECONDARY sexual function. Visual stimuli for all those blokes out there to remind them human females are in season ALL the goddamn time. Get over it...  Wink
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would you download a hack from a modder who says stuff like this? on: 2006 April 04, 10:14:39
The only thing I look at is the modder's track record with putting out things that work (for me).  Some of the best are not people persons  Wink

How on earth could you have possibly arrived at this conclusion?
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would you download a hack from a modder who says stuff like this? on: 2006 April 03, 11:24:04
She was really sniffy about the comment, wasn't she? Someone I shan't be looking for when I visit MTS2, and as always I will stay away from the non-awesome stuff.
114  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Makeup?? Where do you get yours?? on: 2006 March 30, 11:13:31
You know, that's a really interesting observation about people using the same sim to display their stuff because I have never noticed. To be honest, it's not something I'm even interested in. What is important, for me anyway, is whether the clothes, slap or whatever looks good. I don't like it, I don't get it. But I'm often caught out as I've DL'd stuff which looks bloody awful in game, but ok on the site... meh.  Roll Eyes

As to whether a lass should cover her face in paint that is truly individual. Personally, I think that a youngster who is a walking advert for Maybelline or whoever is just putting on a mask. And all that crap on your face day in and out is no good for your skin. I don't think it makes them tarty, just a little lost in their own lack of self-esteem.

115  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Makeup?? Where do you get yours?? on: 2006 March 29, 16:27:58
www.rosesims2.net/  has some very nice makeup and pretty lipgloss. I don't like my girlies to look like a two-bit 'ho so have had to look around a lot for things that are subtle. I also think www.pronupsims.net/ is good for soft and subtle.
116  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Any demand/desire of sc4.terrains? on: 2006 March 27, 17:52:01

118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How is the new OFB patch working for everyone? on: 2006 March 24, 11:28:28

Patching software isn't just a matter of going "oh, that broke?  here's the fix!" and being done with it.  The speed with which this patch came out means that it was in progress when the game shipped.  When a game goes gold, QA doesn't stop.  All it means is that the people in charge of the project felt that it was "complete enough" to ship out and that there should only be minor glitches remaining, if any.  When the patch we just received was going through QA, they were probably already looking for other things to fix and writing those fixes.  Personally, I think most games that are released need about three patches to get "right".  It's not a matter of them not listening or being incompetent, it's a matter of having finite resources to test things with.  The playerbase will always find things that are missed.

That said, there is very clear evidence that EA needs to rethink their regression testing practices, because they routinely muck that portion of it up.

Oh my. I consider myself well and truly chastised. However, as the plebs do manage to sustain a pretty healthy business do you not think that more attention could be payed to the little details that make the game more enjoyable? If they did then we wouldn't be here on MATY overcoming the issues that are raised. Just a thought.

As for the phone hack... you know, sometimes I am completely overwhelmed by my stupidity. Course it allows you to choose who goes out with you! *slaps face several times*
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How is the new OFB patch working for everyone? on: 2006 March 23, 17:51:02
Righto, now I know I ain't gonna install it. Stupid Maxis!  Angry

Heh, spotted that, hon.  Grin
121  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Do You Fast Forward? on: 2006 March 23, 17:22:32
I fast forward all the time but I play with aging on.  I hate pregnancies, babies, and toddlers and I am more than sick of most sims by the time they reach elder.  Ironically, the only ones I don't fast forward are the sims I don't like that I am letting do their own thing.  I like to see just how stupid they can be and cheer when they set themselves on fire or realize they are starving and too tired to eat.

I do slow down time if there is something going on that I need to micromanage like making a parent help with homework or getting someone platinum before work for a promotion though.

Heh, me too. All that boring crap neds to be rushed through as fast as possible and skilling is such a pain, so are meals, bathing, and on and on and on... Remind me, what am I doing?
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Newer Shinier Comm Skilling hack at MTS2 on: 2006 March 23, 17:19:17

And as for you Pescado  Tongue

Nice link, Motoki. Cheers. But, are you sure this isn't a sentiment that should have remained closely hidden? Nice knowing you, mate!  Wink
123  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How is the new OFB patch working for everyone? on: 2006 March 23, 17:11:32
There are a lot posting at the BBS saying they have had problems with their games since installing the patch.  Quite frankly I havent encountered any dramas (and I was trying to get the stuck at community lot bug) so I agree with Ziggy if it aint broke dont bother.  Apparently maxis is working on a second patch to fix the things they didnt get with the first.

Why can't they just get it right the first time? Is it because they a) don't listen, b) don't care cos they know we're gonna fork out lots of gelt anyways or, c) both? And knowing this why do we still suck it up? Sheesh, talk about suckers being born every day.  Roll Eyes
124  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: newest Maxis chat transcript on: 2006 March 23, 17:06:33
Cool... maybe this shows there's some hope for Maxis after all.
125  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB Patch Link on: 2006 March 22, 12:27:56
My sentiments lie with shezoe. I have palpitations over this damn thing. Does anybody know if all the hacks are ok with it?
