Like everyone else: 2 semesters = 1 day.
I also follow someone's suggestion (sorry, can't remember whose) to send teens to Uni when they have 4 days remaining before their adult transition. It's what AllenABQ's doing, but within the Maxis-defined age phases. I like all that extra time in the teen stage for skillinating and making friends.

Yeah, way too many creators in the Sims community have taken their "artistic rights" to the extreme. And the main problem is that it's infectious. Every time a creator has insanely possessive guidelines, it continues to set the precedent that this is normal behavior. Maybe I'm siding with "the man", but I'd find it amusing if EA started shutting pay sites down... some of them are ridiculous with their subscription fees. Then again, if they can get idiots customers to pay, maybe it's not so ridiculous after all. Except MATY, of course! That $39.95/month is worth every penny!

"Ellington" makes me think of Duke Ellington and jazz. If it were my neighborhood, I'd name streets after jazz legends like Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Jelly Roll Morton, Benny Goodman, Cab Calloway, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Wynton Marsalis, etc. Dammit, now you've inspired me - I may have to use this in one of my own future neighborhoods.

In my game, it seems every time a sim drinks espresso, jitters ensue. It doesn't seem to matter whether I direct them to drink it or whether they do it autonomously. I couldn't say if it's the same with coffee, because I never buy the coffee machine. IMO it's a waste of simoleans - takes too much time to drink coffee, and there's not enough increase in energy to make it worthwhile.

TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Correcting the DNA of Strangetown premade characters

Okay - did more poking around and I think it just looks different in this version of SimPE. Instead of things labeled the way baratron described: 1 (dtString): 00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000, it's simply labeled as Hair, with 00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 over to the right.
After checking several Veronaville and Strangetown premade characters against OFB premade characters, the "SkintoneRange" lines are always filled in. The missing DNA lines are labeled as "Skintone", so my conclusion is that the Skintone lines indicate the skintone passed on.
Could someone with SimPE 0.58 please check to see if I got this right?

Hi, longtime lurker and posting virgin here, please be kind... though I should know better than to ask that on MATY. Instead, please feel free to mock, ridicule, or otherwise make fun of my non-awesomeness. I like to try things myself, so I gave baratron's tutorial a go in SimPE (v. 0.58) I found that when I opened up the Sim DNA screen that it displays two boxes: one marked dominant gene and one marked recessive gene. Each box contains 5 lines (eye, facial features, hair, skintone, skintonerange). I didn't see places to click on "add" or "delete" to fix the DNA. Any suggestions?
