Doh! *palm to forehead* I knew there was a bugfix I had forgotten to install. Thanks for reminding me Miros.  Smiley

Would a dose of the love potion from the Gypsy cure the problem? I had a similar issue with the Tricous but it was due to the wonky resurrection problem that marks spouses as pseudo-family. A dose of the love potion enabled them to fall back in love and all romantic interactions were then available.

The reindeer from the Exchange definitely works.  Grin I killed off a few annoying townies that way.
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Own 5 top-level buisinesses question... on: 2006 December 04, 23:50:17
You're welcome Emma.  Smiley I know it's an exploit but I can barely stand most businesses. I'm into the family raising and social stuff so the micromanagement of businesses bores me to tears. I'll take whatever advantages I can get so I don't have to have more than one business per sim. My houses of "ill repute" however are quite fun. With TwoJeffs ACR I love to sit back and be entertained by my sims and their escapades.  Grin
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Own 5 top-level buisinesses question... on: 2006 December 04, 21:05:57
I've fulfilled the "own 5 top businesses" LTW by having the sim own one business and get it up to a level 10. Leave some dirty dishes around, argue with customers, etc. to drop a few loyalty stars. The level of the business will drop to level 9. Clean up the place, chat up the customers and bring the level back to 10. Lather, rinse and repeat. Each time the business gets back to level 10 the sim gets another memory. When there's 5 of these memories the LTW is fulfilled. Why the game doesn't make the distinction that there's only one business I don't know. But it makes the process a little more doable and much less annoying.
56  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: College Mathematics Class Problem on: 2006 December 03, 17:55:40
Yes there's something wrong with her. Maxis dropped the ball when it came to the Bluewater Village sims. Most of them have some mistakes in their character files that should have been quite obvious if they'd been paying attention. Melody & Tessa are both messed up with the first "pseudo-semester problem", Denise Jaquet has this fear of her DEAD husband cheating on her and if she becomes romantically involved with another sim then she gets a memory of cheating on him.  Undecided There's a female townie child who's marked in SimPE as an adult male, if you resurrect Ives Jaquet he has no asperation, no personality and is an adult in an elder's body. In SimPE Florence Delarosa's dead mother is marked as a man. The Maxoids must have been half asleep when working on these characters.

That's happened to me before exactly as you described it and a few other's too like Phyllisp. With us it only happened to the kids from Bluewater Village, namely Melody Tinker and Tessa Ramirez. Something with those sims seems broken. Once you get through the "pseudo-semester" they'll be fixed and continue on as normal students. I think Phyllisp graduated Melody with no problems. I played Melody up to the end of her Sophomore year. There's some other weirdness in the Bluewater sims that I didn't want to bite me in the end and I wanted to redo Pleasantview anyway so I reset the neighborhood. No more Maxis Bluewater Village for me, I'll use the template but I'll make my own sims for it.

I also want to add that I really - dammit! - must learn how to bin hair one of these days, and agree with that Pegggy's reds really are very, very terrible.

I finally bit the bullet so to speak; downloaded Theo's plugin and binned all of my hair this morning. My procrastinating was due to my lack of trust in my ability to do it correctly without causing my game to 'asplode. I'm rather technologically challenged.  Tongue Theo's binning tool is so fantastic and simple to use. I'm kicking myself over not doing this earlier. Now all of my hair is where it belongs and I'm so happy about it. I might go in and rebin some of the hair already binned by the creators. For some of them I'm not so thrilled with the choices for the other ages and while I like a couple of greys such as a silvery grey and a darker grey I don't really care for the pinky grey that seems to be favored for the red hairstyles.
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Adopted kids losing grades on day of adoption on: 2006 November 23, 17:16:06
When it's happened to me I've used both the "take the kids to school in the car" solution and Inge's home worktable & workbook to help keep the grades up. It's at http://www.simlogical.com/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2School.htm at the bottom of the page. I haven't adopted any kids since Pets so I don't know for sure if it is compatible but I am assuming it is.

I have the same problems as well from time to time, kind of gives a whole new meaning to the term "blue balls" doesn't it?  Tongue

I've also had no visible fish in my tanks since OFB. The video card in my current computer is a Nvidia Geforce 5500. The "useShaders true" cheat makes the fish visible for me but I haven't tested it long enough to see if it fixes this problem. Since I tend to marathon play I've gotten in the habit of setting my graphics at medium so my computer won't get snippy and restart on me or crash to the desktop while playing. I want my new computer now but it will have to wait until after the holidays, or even into next Spring.  Sad
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone have Simcribbling's skintones? on: 2006 November 01, 22:36:47
I like the Shiny Sims version of the skins too. I don't mind belly button piercings but it looks silly to me on every single sim. Looks better on specific outfits IMHO. I like Shiny Sims eyes also. They don't do that weird extra eyelid thing when the sim has the wide-eyed expression.

63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does anyone have this dress? on: 2006 October 25, 23:44:13
Thank you everyone. I'm writing down notes and will be trying this out later. I have done some stuff with SimPE, namely making changes with the plastic surgery machine genetic. I haven't tried anything with clothes yet and I really appreciate your instructions.  Smiley
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does anyone have this dress? on: 2006 October 25, 20:53:54
Don't those sleeves drive you insane? I ended up deleting anything I had with sleeves like that because they were constantly all messed up looking. I can put up with a bit for collars and the like, but for some reason those bothered me more and I was going nutsier than normal. They look very pretty when they're just standing there though.

Try Parsimonious, on this page:  http://www.parsimonious.org/fashion2/themes/theme_1131639693.shtml
Scroll down and you'll find dresses in the same general shape, only with far more sensible sleeves.  You can then rip out the textures on the LOTR dresses with Body Shop or SimPE and apply them to the Parsimonious mesh -- they work pretty well.  I wound up doing that with a lot of dresses when I got sick of the stiff "shovel sleeve" look.

I wish I knew how to do that. I can't stand the paddle sleeves either and would love to change the dresses to the Parsimonious mesh. Is there any good tutorials out there for the technology impaired people like me?
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets and Cars on: 2006 October 25, 20:32:40
So far the carpool arrives in my game for both human and pet sim.  Undecided There isn't a game freeze when the pet comes home either.
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet motives and training on: 2006 October 25, 01:12:57
I like when they just stand around and get all meoww, meowww, MEOOOOOWWWWW111111 heh. So realistic.

Mine like to do that when they can't find one of us. I'll yell, "I'm in here!" and the kitty who's yowling will come running over to me. Usually because she wants her lap to nap on.

Your cats are so cute Rohina.  Smiley
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet motives and training on: 2006 October 24, 20:45:06
I enjoy the kitty crazies too. If you have more than one you can call it the Kitty Indy500. In a two story house it's a great source of fun and entertainment.  Grin

My apologies all, I wasn't aware that things at SexySims2 had fubared. Thanks for pointing it out to me. Looks like a nasty mess. Hopefully they'll get it worked out soon.

Dopearmy & Slimseattleguy, follow Liegenshonheit's link right above your post. The link is in the "Behold! The cocks of Crammyboy!" And for future reference remember that necromancy is never a good thing. Sometimes it's best to let the dead stay buried and start a new thread Tongue
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maternity wear... argh! on: 2006 October 13, 14:38:47
Judie of All About Style has some lovely maternity clothes. I have found much to my happy surprise that many of her regular clothes work as maternity clothes also. http://www.all-about-style.com/index.html

Also forgot to mention- Morague unlocked the Maxis maternity clothes so that they can be seen and worn as everyday clothes. Problem is Variousimmers appears to be still broken.  Undecided Does anyone know if Morague's stuff is or will be hosted anywhere else? Besides the maternity clothes she also unlocked some other nice things, such as Beau's hair and two types of glasses (black & tortiseshell wire rimmed).

Dylan's stuff should be considered just as trustworthy as MATY hacks. http://laverwinklesims.com/index.php?topic=17.0 Take a look, his default alien replacement is a vast improvement over no nose, bulging eyes and sharp chins. Treynutz2's Junior Pollination replacement is also equally trustworthy. You can find his hack over at the Simposieum- http://www.simposieum.net/content/view/52/2/ .

Fixed the link so it will hopefully work.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Grilled cheese? on: 2006 September 28, 14:23:55
Also a Grilled Cheese sim will have the life time want (LTW) to eat 200 grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm working hard at clogging Kevin Beare's arteries with fulfilling that LTW.  I want that thombstone. Grin
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Resurrection in a Graveyard on: 2006 September 27, 16:15:15
Perhaps it is easier to just ban them than fix the character files. Though it's too bad Maxis seems to have this ongoing behavior of not being able to see the forest for the trees. If they went in and fixed stuff like this proactively without seeming to need their arms twisted by fans it would strengthen and even increase customer loyalty. Oh well. I guess I'm preaching to the choir so to speak.  Undecided
