This is wild speculation, but if your game isn't running the procedure due to an inability to bring up the confirmation dialogue (for whatever reason), you could try using AwesomeMod on expert mode. It bypasses "are you sure" dialogues.

I've also found that it's easier to attach myself to my sims in HORROR. They haven't helped much in that you can choose all positive traits, but I've found that choosing a couple negative traits, plus not giving them perfect appearances (Screw up faces, make fatties, etc.) can give them some actual differentiation. It's amusing, especially when they're left to their own devices while you control other sims.

Are you saying that since I have some gay Sims in my game now the entire neighborhood is bisexual?  Or are you saying once the entire gay population grows to 10% then everyone becomes bisexual?

I think it means that once you do six player-driven same-sex lovin' actions, your entire hood becomes bisexual.  Since there's no attraction or sexual preference stat, it'll just be first-love, first-serve, I'd guess.

This makes a LITTLE bit of superficial sense, if you think about it in a backward EA fashion. Some sheeple might be "offended" by the presence of the ZOMGHEYS in their neighbourhood, so only enable homosexual interaction if the player forces it. Of course, they completely neglected to deal with what happens afterwards. Which is as much as we could expect from them, really.

In any case, this means we'll have hoods full of Bisexual sims. Awesome.

Try checking your background tasks, and possibly going fullscreen/low resolution. My computer doesn't have too many problems with running the game for extended periods of time, despite being a humble 3-year-old laptop with only 1 Gig of ram and a 1.66 Ghz processor. I have the graphics on Crap™, but the game's running rather well.

In any case, you've finally found a way to reliably kill off the puddings. Congratulations.

Stackable foundations in 3 different heights, connectable by stairs and passable thru normal doors. Spiral stairs are good to save space but very few use them. Instead it is useful to make indoor stairs that can change direction...

There were ways to do this in TS2 before OFB introduced the stage. If I'm not mistaken, the constrainfloorelevation cheat exists in TS3 as well, without the "boolprop", to put it in layman's terms.

Can be translated as follows and still be correct because "NO" doesn't have an English counterpart. It's merely a possessive marker.

"Cat of love"

"Cat's love"

No, try "love of cat(s)".  That is exactly what it means.  Those first two translations you gave are, in fact, wrong.

And, as I said before, the fact that you cannot translate literally word-for-word is the case with every single language.

ETA:  For anyone who was actually interested in the Cantonese questions (yeah, right), this is apparently what is going on.

The headpeen has managed to start being inconsistent within the space of a single post. That must be some sort of new record.

How many topics did we manage to go through over the course of this thread?

I suspect Pescado will fiddle with this and auto-rename all Asterisk Tsunami Babbyz "Trogdor Burninator" (boys) and "Delishus Caek" (girls).
Oh, that's it - my first Rock Star *will* be naming her/his firstborn "Asterisk Tsunami".
Secondborn shall be Rabbithole Mausoleum.

Horror movie for the Sims' TVs?

As a non-impartial observer ...

I don't think this phrase means what you think it means.

Insofar as I couldn't truthfully say I was impartial.

Some of the things you listed Zolabee would not work very well, we build cinemas in TS1 and TS2 with the end result was ... a mess.

Similar what would be the point of entering the hospital to just watch the baby delivery? there would be not much of player control over it.

Yes, and since there's not much difference between home delivery and hospital delivery, it makes you wonder why they went to so much trouble to add in the extra option. Why add it if I can't see it anyway? Same with the diner and the bistro. They are the same only for the bistro the sims change into formal wear and can eat outside. They are nice neighbourhood decorations but if my sims need to eat while in town they can munch on the things they have in their backpack, or they can grill, or have a picnic.

The diners can be useful if you want to throw some Sims away for a while to focus on others. Also, it can be a good option for poor Sims if you can Dine For Free™.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So are there any plans on an updated awesomespec for houses for Sims 3? on: 2009 July 05, 04:14:38
In addition, if you grab the dining for free lifetime benefit, you won't need a kitchen, either.

...

Wait, what DOES one need other then a bed, toilet and shower? Wish-fulfilment, sure, but everything else seems rabbit-hole-able.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 05, 04:05:10

No one's hurt, I'm just annoyed that no one here can ask a question without the Grand Council pouncing on it like a cat does nip and then shredding it without actually being helpful in any way.

As a non-impartial observer, I would like to point out that you asked the question in a rather presumptuous manner. Also, the first response to that was actually humourous sarcasm, not being torn to shreds. In addition, your response to that wasn't exactly opening up for pleasant discourse.

Of course, all this is irrelevant when you realize... well, what did you expect? Ask a tardly question, get a sporkly answer. Lurk more and lern2MATY.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Socializing: more realistic/violent? on: 2009 July 05, 03:51:23
I've noticed that the Loner trait can also make relationships take longer to build. Of course, I doubt the designers had that much insight, so this is most likely just selective memory or bad gameplay on my part. In any case, try stacking a bunch of antisocial characteristics and see what happens. The evil suggested earlier, in addition to loner and mean-spirited, started making trouble in my neighbourhood.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: A special breed on: 2009 June 29, 00:43:29
Hopefully this post isn't too necro, but this part worries me. A lot.

I also noticed, if you edit town at any point and go back into the household, a different Grim shows up, and therefore my sim has two Grims in her relationship panel.

Spawning new grims every time you edit the neighbourhood? This seems like a VBT. BV-esque VBT.

I have plenty of screenshots that are just perfect for this month!

Cognitive Dissonance is why I no longer use secondary aspirations.

The Free Time week-end updates seem to not take IMPORTANT EVENTS into account.

The Nanny fails at scheduling. Please note both the mother's schedule alongside the fact that the father is currently AT WORK.

I'd given up on attributing this to sheer randomness a long time ago. This is just bad coding.

And of course, my personal favourite:

The reading area that everyone decided to use was past some carpet dividers. Despite eventually having to wander past them back into the area with the bookcase in it to drop them on the floor, they did anyway. Smrt prgrmng EAxis.
41  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! January: Accessories on: 2009 January 22, 01:10:53
...invariably longer than a minute...

While I agree with your general statement, I think that you should get some more RAM and possibly delete/compress some files if it's taking longer than a minute to get your Sim to a mirror, change accessories, click the check mark and wait for it to return to live mode. Most people I know don't have that problem even if their computer doesn't have beefy arms.
42  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You December (New) on: 2009 January 02, 23:13:30
I wondered if the new Asian themed furniture from EA Store were good.

Judge by yourself. And yes, this happens always, and with this bed ONLY.

I was going to say that this probably wouldn't qualify as an anatomical bork when I first glanced upon the pillows. Then I saw the people sleeping. They are going to need an incredible amount of surgery to get out of that one.
43  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! January: Accessories on: 2009 January 02, 23:07:34

EAUGH. Why would you even...? That seems unsanitary, at best, not to mention the fact that the piercing is, apparently, hovering below the ear lobe of the victim Sim. Also, the model's mouth is crazy. Like, Assmitten crazy, only it doesn't actually look good.
44  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2009 January 02, 21:52:50
My suggestion is that the pathway must remain a pathway. It may be enclosed, perhaps with greenhouse walls only, but it cannot be a "room". It also may not be obstructed.
45  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You December (New) on: 2008 December 30, 15:27:49
Why is the demon baby's head eating SimFaafy's arm? O:

Because no one likes Adult Faafies, and because it is angry that it somehow ended up with blonde eyebrows. Or perhaps it simply wants to escape from Quasimodocat.

Also, it are not demon. It is a Drow. GETONE
46  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You December (New) on: 2008 December 29, 05:33:36
* Faafy renames cat

Also, you might notice that it is both hunch-backed and floating. It did this for quite a while. It kinda floated around the house - I wish I'd taken a movie. Seriously, you'd never sleep again. Especially upon watching how its head contorted groundward when it went to eat.

I can also confirm that those screenshots are from the crappy console version. I would also like to submit that the graphics are far, far worse than anything on the PC Version that didn't come from FeeEssen. Seriously, what the heck is that amorphous silver pod?
49  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 26, 18:57:45
Wow, that's a really original idea! One question, though, what kind of lot zoning is that on? I'm guessing owned community lot + sleep on commlot hack, in order to allow the commoners to mill about and purchase things, but I might be wrong.
50  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Faizah Flats on: 2008 December 23, 16:11:51
What I was suggesting was to use the Pets fence to turn the place where the car was parked into a second backyard, essentially. I was under the impression that they would still be usable.
