That shouldn't work with AM updated though.

Question: Can you connect/snap two bridges together?

I would like to know that too, if I could even find them. I found ones from WA, but I can't find the one I think ingelli used in a screenshot from this thread, was that a bridge from Riverview?
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 22, 16:15:28
The problem with the intersection is the corners are not cut out. The sidewalk corner texture just covers the base street texture. Provided, the nice texture and map for dirt corners that was included does not work. You can see in this picture. It was made to look faded but if a dirt street texture was used for the base, the corner would stay a solid square. If I try to change the .tga map to be transparent (no overlay) the corner becomes dark. It's beyond my control for now. I need to do more experimenting with the .tga mapping.

How do I fix this?

Did you hit the flat lot button? If you edit the land terrain in CAW after placing the lot and then adjust the edge of a lot in-game with the level tool, some graphical glitches occur. So work on terrain first, then place lots. Turn the grid on it's very helpful to make flat land. After placing a lot use conform edges on it (double-click). If it looks bad to you after editing in-game, delete the lot and edit the terrain again. Also, It's possible to save lots when using in-game mode to the lot bin. They can be replaced on any lot that's the same dimensions or larger, but the terrain levels will still apply. So only really useful for flat lots.
31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How to disable/ enable EA launcher (Macintosh) on: 2009 December 21, 19:17:17
In which way is it disabled? It won't go online, or it won't open the application? Allow access in the firewall if it won't go online. Did you do this by chance: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,16483.0.html or http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15029.0.html

or one of my other mods.

Take your mods out and test it yourself, preferably with a new hood. None of us can see exactly how your game configuration is, so how would we know what other mods you have? This should be standard when testing AM, and insuring everything works after a new patch is installed.
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 20, 22:41:06
Just saw that when I went to edit in game, I think it's because of volume maps are wrong size. I will try to fix it.

Edit: No, I think it's picky about format. Trying RGBA8 now, the default for gimp wasn't it. Also, I realized why it did not work on intersection corners -because they rely on .tga maps. I thought I could make an all in one, but the different street elements rely on different texture formats for rendering at a distance. They didn't really plan custom roads to be easy.

2nd Edit: Fixed street/sidewalk transparent texture. Attached. Please let me know how it goes for you, I zoomed far out and close a lot. Cheesy
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 20, 21:56:31
Anyone else having trouble placing game objects that no longer select/move after placed in painted blue non-route areas? My hood keeps having trees become stuck in these areas and delete key doesn't work, the only way I can delete them is using right click on them in the layer menu. Anything stuck also renames to Game_Object#, making it even harder to find. I tried unclustering/clustering trees with no results.
I can see you have the same problem: edited textures do no look as nice. They have a "shimmering" effect, instead of more natural matte look that Maxis textures do.

The image I used was the base dirt, not the dirt street by accident, oops! It was a 1024x1024 high detail image when I opened it. I applied a new layer in photoshop for the faded overlay and flattened it. I think if you make a smaller image like 512x512 it could be less shimmery. I'll try editing the street texture to see if it has difference in size, etc.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 20, 17:00:09
Well in my test so far, the crosswalk texture (Sidewalk border) does not have an opacity map nor does the center of the intersection. The square center just takes the base texture set for the street. The crosswalk texture will repeat 4 times across, when a road is conjoined to the intersection. I modified a dirt texture to appear faded as the road, but you can see because of the repeating I couldn't get the desired effect.

36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Has anyone else broken their game as badly as this? on: 2009 December 20, 00:32:57
The DCBackup folder is junk. You can delete it.

What has been stated in the patch thread that worked for me quite smoothly was: Move the riverview.world file from "/InstalledWorlds/" to "/Program files/Electronic arts/The Sims 3/GameData/Shared/NonPackaged/Worlds/". This fixes Riverview and any Riverview save files will show up again at Main Menu. Don't forget to change the resource.cfg to allow your DCCache Files, add "PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.dbc" in a text editor. Plop all .dbc into Mods. No long lists of numbers will show up and objects will be restored. But Gwill, your saves might be permanently broken because usually once you see blue lots error you can't go back - even if you didn't hit save. So, hopefully you have backup save files somewhere to restore them.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 19, 22:51:10
If you don't want sidewalks, like mentioned by KawaiiMiyo, you can either use dirt_intersection_crosswalk.dds for the sidewalk opacity map to eliminate the gap, or use grass_medium_base.dds for the Sidewalk Textures - Base Texture to make it disappear.
How can we keep sims from using the sidewalk though? The road I placed on the edge of a cliff is very narrow, I don't want them to use it except by car.

Edit:
I made for the invisible sidewalk, because I could still see a darker overlay with the grass. Also one for street lines. >Check post below fixed zoom black lines, and made only one file.

Is this something that everyone is experiencing, and if so is there a way to get the plumbob icon to appear?
No, I've been converting store stuff to packages since a while back. The icons disappear when you do this for some reason.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Time slowed to near complete stop. on: 2009 December 19, 03:44:54
It's the same iMac I've been using for TS2 on for a few years now. It could do with another stick of RAM (Only has 1gb), but it's odd to me because I don't recall this problem ever.   I will try closing background apps. I was playing in windowed mode maybe that's why. These are small lots also, with no CC at all and only 2 to 3 sims. There's no visible lag but I guess the simulator could be lagging. There's no possibility of a corrupt lot synch timer or anything that would cause a lot to lose track of the time? Never could play with reflections on, they produce very jagged lines on mirrors. Pretty sure the graphics settings are low enough.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Time slowed to near complete stop. on: 2009 December 19, 03:19:31
Running TS2/BV with the entirety of moreawesomethanyou.zip for BV. My problem is on one lot time has stopped, or rather slowed down to the point of being stopped. I had placed the synch timer water cooler on my lot, not knowing what it was and started it up. After that the time stopped. Pressing #3 to go into full speed results in sims being simulated, but the clock only ticks off a minute at the slow pace of five real life minutes. It's impossible to speed through a day and continue the work week. Is it safe to remove the synch timer or can I disable it in game first? The only options on it now are to add Day + 0 or the Time Warp, which gives an incredibly scary message for a millisecond (Had to click it twice to read it). Or would the synch timer not even be the cause of this? My other family is running time just fine, but again I didn't stick that green water cooler on their lawn.
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 17, 15:18:24
@Lion: You probably have to use GIMP or photoshop to save your .png file.

@Zazazu: Were you able to successfully use your hood with sims yet?
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 Released - CAW Out on: 2009 December 16, 22:47:59
Okay, so I found out what happened to all the .Sims3packs. The EA launcher, and the game itself, no longer correctly reads them. Anyone, most noteably TSR, who relies on them, is now fucked. A workaround exists, but it involves DARK SORCERY and ELDRITCH ABOMINATIONS, so that's right out for TSR. But I fixed it.

That means another patch is probably going to have to be released immediately. When in doubt wait and then doubt more.
44  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims ignore all custom/non-EA lots/houses. on: 2009 December 16, 18:25:51
For my new hood destroyed all humans and made my famblys sacred. I placed my custom house that was under 18k and had about 6 single beds and one double bed. The entire population of single co-workers moved into that one house after one day. So it's not that it's custom, they just will move into the house that's better for their needs. If you place a 16k house with a double bed and a crib a married couple will probably move into that one instead of the 100k house even if they have 100k because the 100k home didn't have a crib. After their spawn levels up if there is not an extra single bed for it to sleep in they will move again. Try removing all unwanted houses so they have less of a choice.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Getting a new computer - advice needed! on: 2009 December 14, 23:26:07
Do you want this computer to last more than a year and not pay over 1000 dollars for it? Find the best motherboard at your price range that has all the extra slots and processor compatibility for the next 5 upgrades you'll probably get for it. Everyone is getting a terrible deal with these Dell Compaq, HP etc scams, they're made to not be upgradeable by default! - That's why they won't tell you what motherboard it is.

46  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Caches For AwesomeMod on: 2009 December 14, 13:16:32
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cache

Cache files keep temporary data, for example thumbnails images, so they do not have to be loaded everytime. By clearing your cache once, this allows a clean palate for AM to work with. You don't have to clear them everytime but I have found clearing them after placing any new modifications to TS3  (i.e, custom skins or texture replacements will need you to clear the cache once or twice to take effect) fixes potential problems. Loading menus might be a bit slower after clearing cache because it has to recreate them. After that all should be well.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Funny named stuff in WA on: 2009 December 13, 23:20:40
For me it was a rogue mod that had not been removed. Did you try re-torrenting the .iso? If the.exe gives an error installing you probably had some error when downloading or used a bad torrent. W7? Windows 7? I have no experience with it, using XP.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Funny named stuff in WA on: 2009 December 13, 16:10:46
If you don't have any mods, reinstall. If you do have mods take them out. See 3rd Response in this post here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17330.msg502593.html#msg502593
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Variable Crashes on: 2009 December 09, 12:23:10
XP can't use more than 3GB anyway, so anything above that is a waste.

XP will recognize up 3.75GB of ram so it will be faster than having just 3. It's only kind of a waste if you went out of your way to buy more. But since sticks can be bought cheaper in a dual pack, most pre-assembles came with 4gb for XP.
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 90% of Sunset Valley lots gone after returning from vacation. on: 2009 December 09, 12:04:36
What i did notice however is when you turn off or restart the computer the blue lots would come back.

That's because what you're suggesting is pure voodoo in connection to the blue lots. MSCONFIG is for diagnostic startup and while turning off services/startup not in use can help your game performance, turning off certain services your computer needs will cause some computers to not function correctly. It's not the permanent way to turn off services/startup so that's why when you restart they open again. But this experiment kind of tells me it's correct what Inge said about blue lots being connected to bad loading process. You probably have too many services running to have enough CPU/RAM to load your game properly - resulting in lot corruption.

It's better to adjust your startup services through services.msc. I don't think peasants should try this if they don't understand what it means. (Probably would end up disabling your printer, audio, who knows what else and not know how to fix it) http://theeldergeek.com has a nice service search to tell you what most common services do though and if it's safe or not to disable.
