26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Red World on: 2010 September 15, 21:08:44
I knew what the vole was referring too,  I was tired of guessing games.   I have uninstalled Fast Lane and am still getting red neighborhood.  I was certainly hoping to not have to reinstall everything, but it is looking like I might have to do that.  Both my HELS and FL are arrr'd.  Could they have gotten corrupted somehow by the patches?  To be honest, when it first showed up, I had used the EA launcher to check updates.  My paranoia set in and I thought about the red dye packs they use to foil bank robbers.  LOL!  Damn EA!!
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Red World on: 2010 September 15, 20:32:09
I have been running the game and expansion packs okay.  This happened after I had been playing Fast Lane for a day.   I  have uninstalled FL and it did not help.  I will update my directX.  I am still running on XP and my understanding is I do not need LAA unless I have more than 3 gigs of ram.
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Red World on: 2010 September 15, 19:42:01
Updating my video drivers was the first thing I did. I too recall seeing a picture like this before, but I have not been able to find a solution.  I also tried  replacing Shaders_Win32.precomp file in the game bin.

I'm guessing video card failure.
I am not looking for guesswork.  Either you have seen it before and know something about it or you haven't.  Trying to up you post count?

ETA: spelling

Has anyone else seen anything like this? I have installed Fastlane and all the required patches.  This is without any CC or Mods except Awesomemod.  My saved game is playable but the lighting and colors appear borked, flat, greenish, and odd reflections. When I open a new game, this is what I get.  I have tried deleting game cache files and updating my drivers.  No luck
31  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 September 15, 00:42:35
A few minutes ago I downloaded the Awesomemod.  When I unzipped and  right-clicked on it to check if it was an update, the properites showed me that it was created  sept 7, 7:01 a.m. It appears to be the same one I have been downloading since the patch and updates from EA.  Is this the most recent awesomemod?  I noticed the FOJ posted an update report Sept 10
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 September 02, 19:45:16
IIRC there was some discussion about the possibility of an alcohol mod with related moodlets in the Awesomemod Requests thread. I can't remember how far back it was, or if it ever went further than just throwing around ideas though.

I'm amazed at how a lot of people don't know how to effectively search.

Too many people type a single word or a complicated sentence (spelling is important) into the first search box they see, and then give up when it doesn't magically give them what they want.  You have to ask the right question if you want the right answers.

Search tips - use two or three keywords at a time.  If your first keywords don't pull up what you need, try RELATED words.  Try different search combinations until you hit on the right ones.  What you call something might not be what the post you're looking for calls it.  Use the Advanced search.  Above all, be prepared to spend more than 45 seconds searching and READING posts until you get what you need.

In this case, even without taking the time to test my theory here - which I'm not going to do, I found this information ages ago - the KEY words here are most likely "Store" and "install".

I'm going to go back to lurking now, because this was way too nice of a reply to be condoned.
Wow!  If the tard does not know how to use the search function, it really is in the wrong place.

I was surprised when one of my sim children from the Lobos family rolled the LTW to become a Renaissance Sim, she was one day away from aging up to a teen, but I was not aware that children could get a LTW.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 REFUSES to uninstall. WHY??? on: 2009 August 03, 23:35:43
I cannot tell you why this happened, but it also happened to me.  I ended up downloading a freeware uninstall program to force uninstalll my game.  It worked, I reinstalled the game and installed both EA patches the lastest mostawesome mod with indiestone, I did not lose any of my savegame data.  I do not usually recommend stuff to anyone, but it took me 4 tries before I found a free software that did not just want to use the games own uninstaller..I used one called Advanced Uninstaller Pro and found it at download.com

I sent off a sim to bury his mother when she died, and I did not have the option to manage the dead any longer.  I had only used it once early on in the game, so I do not know exactly when it disappeared.

43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 July 24, 20:42:26
The whole sentence can't be a misplaced modifier, surely?  The only thing in that sentence which I would have thought could be a misplaced modifier would be "in the first place" but as has been discussed ad infinitum, I'm no grammatical expert.  It strikes me that unless you know your stuff, you'd best leave this kind of thing to those who do.
I do not know my stuff,  that is why I was asking.  I will go and see if I can find the answer on the internet.

" This being the reason for asking in the first place"

This being the reason for asking in the first place.  It's never too late to learn.

isn't this a mispaced modifier?

Probably because no one has bought it and donated it. PMBD works on donations not on when things are released.
I knew that.. I just was unsure if it was updated to Apartment Life  on the PSMBD yet..
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PSA: Abandonated Mods Borked by AL on: 2008 November 09, 19:04:19
is the one at PMBD current for AL ?? I looked at it and thought it was still the older version

I had been using the Sims2living teen woohoo and it was causing my Sims to lose the gestures option in thier interactions.. I went to the sims2living site to update and saw that it is now for donation only Cry
