yup and when i installed the slow game for the first time then what i did was  i deleted all my CC and my entire game and reinstalled from the beginning-sims2 and installed all eps and sps.and then tried playing with no cc at all, game was still slow and still crashing quite often even with no cc at all

i am wondering if anyone else is facing slow game after installing apartment life? my game is crashing when my sims try to accept a job from newspaper(havent tried with computer)

Are you shift-clicking the newspaper in debug mode?  I'm asking because this apparently has been broken for some time.

As for slower game play, I've actually read that people are experiencing the opposite.

no,i am not shift clicking.

ps: what do you mean by people are experiencing opposite? do you mean that people are having their games running faster after this ep?

i pmed Hysterical Paroxysm of modthesism2 about this and she said

"597 is not any sort of game-bogging slowness and you end up with something over 400 NPCs in Belladonna Cove - even without ever having loaded a lot, if you have all EPs. This has been discussed in previous threads - the game can easily handle over a thousand character files with no issue. The problem is with changes to the engine itself."

when i got AL,i did a complete reinstall of my entire game and deleted all CC and families so the game was completely fresh and new.
i have 5 sims i made in my game.my game is continuosly getting slower and slower and today i read here about characters and i checked
The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\E001\Characters folder and i have 597 files there...what could be the problem? is it the npc generator problem?
