True, I suppose that would work... I don't guess we have autonomous woohooing to worry about, do we? *whaps self on the head for not realizing that woohoo isn't an autonomous action*
102  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Retarded OFB question. on: 2006 May 21, 07:15:36
If you can stuff it into your inventory when you buy one on a community lot, you can haul it home with you and use it there. I routinely bogart community lot trash cans in this way, stuffing them into the inventories of my owners and managers so they can take them home with them and use them as no-empty trashcans. The street trash can has been permanently knocked over on some lots because of this, and I simply never bother to un-knock it over, instead using my handy no-empty community lot trash can for all my trashcanning needs. The community lot can even comes in a wide variety of colors to fit any room. Did I mention that it's firmly attached to a post and cannot be knocked over, nor does it ever need emptying?

If you have a community trash can on your lot, could you delete the regular trash can with moveobjects on?

If you have a maid, will she pick up a kicked over trash can?

Just two questions I didn't know the answer to.

Does a mod exist which enables non-pregnancy teen-to-teen woohoo without enabling teen-to-adult or teen-to-elder or anything else like that? If so, where can I get it?
104  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HACK RATING SYSTEM on: 2006 May 21, 06:44:45
Would it be possible to make it so that the rating system were searchable, so that one could, for example, go under Advanced search and search for all critical hacks?
105  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default Replacement Clothes for Servos? on: 2006 May 21, 06:27:34
Two questions:

1. Which method did you end up using?
2. Does he revert to default servo appearance when he visits a community lot?
106  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you make a user startup cheat file? on: 2006 May 21, 06:19:13
My list is very similar to yours, Blue, except I leave 45 degree rotation on all the time, since it doesn't seem to hurt anything. I use the mouse when I want 90 degree rotations and the keyboard when I want 45's.

I also don't leave testing cheats on all the time, but that's because I don't use 'em that much right now.

Your list did make me realize, though, that my aliases could be MUCH shorter... I currently use snapon and snapoff for boolpop snapobjectstogrid, for example...

Oh, and one tip... After you have your userStartup.cheat file, right-click on it and select 'open with' and select notepad, making sure to click the box to always use it to open files of that type. Then, you can just double-click it to edit it later.
107  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / No Pillow Fight Request on: 2006 May 21, 06:14:46
I was looking at the available hacks, and noticed the "noroadpillows" one. This got me to thinking... Could you make a hack that prevents sims from having the want to have a pillow fight when there are no beds on the lot? (or maybe add this feature to the noroadpillows hack?) I was thinking of using noroadpillows when it occurred to me that it could pose a problem when they are on downtown lots with no beds, for example.
108  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Hygiene Bug Fix on: 2006 May 21, 03:21:52
Is this still needed with OFB and/or FFS (Anyone else think Maxis named Family Fun Stuff that just to take advantage of JM's popularity, or is it just me?)
109  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project on: 2006 May 16, 20:41:50
Did you ever post the cleaned up Uni templates you mentioned, or did I just miss them?
110  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project on: 2006 May 14, 04:03:40
You might want to wait for my cleaned up template (uploading now), so you don't dump a billion sims into this neighborhood when you attach them.

Cleaned up template? What does that mean, precisely?
111  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project on: 2006 May 14, 04:01:21
IMPORTANT NOTE: I DID NOT attempt to attach another Downtown, and I strongly suggest that you DO NOT attempt to do so either.

Call me foolish, but I figured I had to try. I added an additional downtown, starting from a SC4 Terrain (I forget which one - one of the Maxis ones, I think), and everything seems to be completely fine. Nothing blew up in my face.

I did then delete it, as I don't really need a second downtown right now...
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 14, 02:16:16
I'm uploading right now to Megaupload and RapidShare. I'm also going to make it available through LimeWire (someone requested that).

BlueSoup also offered to host the file. It's 77MB, so it's not that bad at all.

You are my hero! I can hardly wait to download it! I have been wanting this since TS2 first came out! *worship*
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Give Handheld to..." interaction on: 2006 May 13, 17:37:03
I'd like to have that, too. Perhaps you could post it here?
114  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone own FFS? on: 2006 May 12, 04:26:08
I can believe people have bad taste and would wear them (townies might). I cannot believe parents would let their spawn go to the streets dressed as dragons or mermaids…

Maxis should have implemented a ‘costume' category for clothing and allow Sims to throw costume parties. I miss the trunk from TS1's House Party.

Amen! Maybe someone here is smart enough to hack one for us?
115  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 11, 20:42:30
No word from SaraMK for a couple of days... Hope her 'puter didn't blow up when she tried testing this...
116  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 09, 17:27:05
You SO completely ROCK! I agree with the others about the minor inconsistencies... I had already notivrfthe problems with the Beaker and Curious houses when I tried to place them manually, so I'm not surprised there. I look forward to the completed project. Have you got any ideas as far as where to post it online?
117  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Possibilities of an Evil aspiration? on: 2006 May 08, 05:47:44
Speaking of evil toys, is there a list somewhere of what the evil toys all do? I haven't done much toy-making yet, and I'd like to know what I'm in for before I get started...
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 06, 04:03:12
Maybe you could add one as a downtown and one as a suburb (shopping district)? Just a thought...

But, if you can't get it to work with both, I'm not sure about others, but I know I could live with just a DNA-corrected Strangetown added to Pleasantview, if I had to.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 05, 23:25:28
I would love to have you upload a fully merged hood with fixed DNA, etc. Hell, I'd even send you a blank CD and return postage if you'd just burn it on a disc for me. This is what I have wanted from day 1.

My only concern is that I have all the expansions including FFS... Would this make a difference? I noted that you said you had everything except FFS...
120  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 02, 05:03:16
Ok, followed the tutorial and everything worked just right. Now I'm trying to get the storytelling copied over from the "real" strangetown and veronaville to my new strangetown and veronaville, but I am having no luck. I can copy the text of the stories over with no problem whatsoever, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the pictures to move over. Any of you folks have any suggestions?
121  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 01, 10:41:48
Thanks so much for the link. This won't necessarily make the process any easier, but at least it will make it work! Now I just gotta sit myself down and actually do it. After that, the only hard part will be moving the empty houses (package them in-game, then use Sims2Pack Clean Installer to strip out everything but the lot segment) and then laying everything back out. The decorating is gonna be a b*tch - Maybe I'll just say that a forest fire wiped out all the trees.  Grin
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville - Can it be done? on: 2006 May 01, 00:32:18
Ok, I had an idea for a project that I really wanted to do, but it is looking more and more like it is going to be very difficult at best or nearly impossible at worst. I have asked on two different sites about this, but no one has really been able to help me. As such, I am coming to you wise folks here, where I realize now I should have come in the first place.

My idea:
Since A given neighborhood can have more than one Downtown or Shopping District, and since Sims can live in these areas just the same as any other part of the neighborhood, wouldn't it be cool to import Strangetown and Veronaville into Pleasantville as one of these?

What I would like to do is to move the complete neighborhoods, complete with the houses, decorations, Sims, relationships, and neighborhood/family stories.

The closest I have been able to come is to create new shopping districts in my Pleasantville with the Veronaville and Strangetown terrain files and then move each of the houses and families to the lot bin and then into the new hoods, thereby destroying the relationships.

Is it possible to do what I want? Can someone tell me how? If you can't explain how, could someone do this and then provide a compressed "neighborhoods" folder that I can then drop into my Sims 2 Data folder?

I have The Sims 2 and all expansions, in case that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance, o wise ones. I await your wisdom.
123  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Alienware for OFB on: 2006 April 25, 00:08:21
I have not checked it in my game yet, but could there be a CEP-related issue perhaps?  Do you have the latest (4.1) version?

I thought I did, but I'll re-download just to make sure. I'll let you know if it helps.
124  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Flashing Blue Screen on: 2006 April 24, 20:14:08
I just noticed that, in my game at least, the screen of this computer does not show the proper images, but is instead just a blank flashing blue screen. Any ideas what might be causing this?
125  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Blue Border UI Modification - NOW IN TWO SEXY FLAVORS! on: 2006 April 24, 14:22:41
I just wanted to drop in and thank you for this mod. I have been using the triangular version so long now that I had forgotten it was a mod, much less where I got it from. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you! This is the way Maxis should have done it in the first place!
