1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 11, 03:02:46
After re-downloading AwesomeMod today, I don't have the option to Ctrl-click the neighbors' houses to switch active families.  Was that feature removed?
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hex values for favorite colors on: 2009 August 11, 02:46:42
I'm inclined to believe that the Seafoam is supposed to be the greenish color, if only because I remember using Crayola crayons called "seafoam green" that were a light, bluish green.  I think EA just screwed up the hex value for the favorite color swatch.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 09, 01:10:47
It would seem to me that having to switch to each individual household and manually place a crib just to give the family a chance of having kids defeats the whole purpose of a story driver.  If I'm going to be messing with each and every house, I might as well just have them Try for Baby while I'm there and be done with it.  I need a story driver that will keep the non-played families going without my input, which is why I'm still using the Indie Stone driver.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Perfect aquarium...or not? on: 2009 August 08, 19:22:43
The lamest part about the whole thing is that all the fish are the same size when put in fishbowls.  Only about 3 of them could realistically fit in a fishbowl, and none of them would live very long in that kind of environment.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Perfect aquarium...or not? on: 2009 August 05, 03:13:52
I think you're "supposed" to put them in bowls as soon as they are caught and keep them alive until you have all 13.  That's what I did, and the wish fulfilled as soon as I stocked the 13th bowl.  I guess they didn't realize that people would try to avoid having to feed them by keeping them in their inventory until they had all 13.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Story Mode on: 2009 July 27, 02:03:32
Yes, you can turn that feature off.  I did so immediately because I didn't really see any point to it.
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Supreme Commander on: 2009 July 25, 16:34:54
Stay away from the Targus ones you see everywhere.  I replaced the cable twice in 6 months.  They really are as bad as the reviews say.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Slacker Babysitters on: 2009 July 25, 03:58:07
The only one I've had was named Wayne.  He had long hair, a biker jacket, and pajama pants, but he actually did a great job looking after the two babies and two toddlers.  He just went from crib to crib doing exactly what each kid needed him to do, then went around and tidied up the house until the parents got home.  I thought EA had actually managed to make functional nannies, but I guess it was a fluke.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why does slutty slacker grandma get to bring the baby to the cake? on: 2009 July 24, 00:17:17
It would seem that the oldest female relative, or possibly even the oldest female in the household, is the one in charge of the baby caking.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: is there a way to turn off opporunities or allow the sim to decide themselves? on: 2009 July 15, 23:49:57
tides, I don't think video gaming is for you.  Try television.  The characters make all their own decisions, and all the channels keep broadcasting whether you're watching them or not.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What did you do with the Wolff family? on: 2009 July 12, 01:58:53
I almost trashed them just to make use of their nicely-placed lot, but I decided to keep them around to see if they would spawn any kids.  They did have one boy named Dequan, but Story Progression also moved in an enormous white woman and a teenage boy.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Captain Swoopties 50/50 Gender mod on: 2009 June 27, 16:23:16
I've had six girls in a row since installing this hack.  Is it a coincidence?
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: IMPORTANT DESIGN POLL on: 2009 June 18, 00:08:33
Hm, I have one, but I've never even thought to use it while playing a Sims game.  Shouldn't be a problem, though.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Genetics questions on: 2009 June 14, 19:03:14
Ok, thank you...

I was just thinking that maybe someone had tested changing the parents' hair colour during pregnancy.

The aforementioned asspull makes this kind of testing completely pointless.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Good, the Bad, and the Randomly @Toaded on: 2009 June 08, 04:00:01
My roofs have been @Toaded  Angry
I can't see the roofs on houses I'm either playing or building. I can see the NEIGHBORS' roofs, though, both in live mode and build mode. After I play or enter a house to build, the roof "disappears" forever. I took a house from the lot bin and placed it on an empty lot. I never entered the house, but the thumbnail in the lot description is missing a roof  Undecided  Before I placed the house, it definitely had a roof.
A few people have posted about this on the BBS, but not many.
Has anyone else here seen this?

I'm having the same problem.  I can see roofs on premade houses in the map view and on lots far away, but when I get close they disappear.  Houses that I build have invisible roofs even in the map view.

What kind of graphics card are you using, Elvie?  I'm running the game on Intel integrated graphics for now, so that may be what's causing it.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 02, 03:56:27
So am I the only one getting shockingly bright neon green grass, or does it just look more normal in screenshots?
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NEWS: WE CAN HAZ LEGAL THREATS? on: 2008 December 14, 21:32:08
My favorite parts of this letter:

1. It is addressed to "More Awesome Than You".

2. "...your website www.moreawesomethanyou.com ('the Site')..."  WTF?  Do people refer to MATY as "the Site" now?

3.  It's signed "Very truly yours".  How inappropriately personal of them.

Edit: Doh!  My ignorance, let me show you it.  I still say "very truly yours" is silly, though.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What hacks/fixes are absolutely necessary on: 2008 December 07, 19:51:48
The hacks are already categorized and color coded by level of importance.  What more do you want?

I use all of the bug fixes and most of the annoyance fixes, but I don't think I use any of the feature hacks.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second AL patch is out. on: 2008 November 02, 19:59:47
You only need the latest versions of everything.  You should also install all of the other EA patches.  Pescado doesn't bother fixing every little bug that has already been addressed in an official patch.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fix AL Physiology Bork Without Commskilling on: 2008 October 24, 01:56:14
I believe the "no20k" confusion is because the wrong RTFM is posted in the commskilling thread.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Small glitches with simss, possibly caused by apartment life? on: 2008 October 18, 22:59:56
I've had the occasional ghost wandering around in broad daylight for quite some time.  It's definitely not an AL-specific bork.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Norton and CD problems on: 2008 October 18, 20:03:27
So you knew about teh evilz of SecuROM and decided to let it infest your system anyway?  Well, surprise!  It does exactly what everyone has been saying it does.

Get rid of both SecuROM and Norton and never let either of them near your computer again.  I use the free version of AVG, and have had no problems running it alongside The Sims 2.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 October 13, 23:55:57
Nope.  Just do it the old fashioned way if you want to control everyone at once.  Make an apartment building, but leave it as a regular residential lot.
24  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Apartment fixes on: 2008 October 12, 01:43:31
Pescado is in your mind.  Auto-detecting your thoughts.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: About bloody patch on: 2008 October 11, 17:54:30
I use both.  Pescado said they shouldn't conflict.
