76  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: UserStartup.cheat won't alias cheats... on: 2006 April 26, 12:35:22
I'm certainly not an expert on this sort of thing, but mine works and the most obvious difference is quotation marks around the "real command"

Instead of:
alias m             moveObjects on                                  "Enables the ability to move normally unmovable objects" ""

Try:
alias m             "moveObjects on"                                  "Enables the ability to move normally unmovable objects" ""

the only other difference I can see is that you have multiple spaces (keeping your columns purty) while I don't, but I doubt that makes a difference, heh heh

good luck   Smiley

77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skin issues on: 2006 April 19, 23:47:28
Revoye's are pretty nice, (but shiny...) Enayla's first skin sets were barbie doll too weren't they? Anything you can find at TSR should be as well.

I liked the skins from StarSims (bottom row of the skin section) and they are barbie doll.
Not sure how the newer skins are...
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ATI video card tweaks on: 2006 April 19, 23:38:54
I still use a... Radeon 9200?

I know it's old and outdated (after all, I did purchase this computer just to play Sims2 and wasn't that about 600 years ago?) but I have to say I have no complaints with it's performance.

Naturally, I will expect to be blown away when I do finally upgrade, but till then, if it's not broke... I'm scared to mess with it... heh heh

will bookmark for when that changes, thanks Wink
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone have Townies they are willing to upload on: 2006 April 19, 17:14:11
You could also do it in SimPE, but Inge's shrub is the fastest and easiest.
80  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Template Replacements (Work in Progress - Pictures) on: 2006 April 18, 17:24:26
I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone pop up with those ears unless I've deliberately put them in the hood...
I kind of like the elf face, though of course I have a replacement for it so it isn't so uh, Spock-like.. pointy and harsh looking.
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone have Townies they are willing to upload on: 2006 April 18, 06:45:03
depends on if you want to add the personalities yourself... heh heh

I'm wondering how bad of an idea it would be to put a bunch of them (30-40 because I have that mod) on a lot and you could use Inge's shrub to set them as townies or adoptees (because it would save you from assigning personality points, outfits, names, aspirations and all the other tedium of adding so many sims at once) They could also have jobs and a skill or two to keep it if you wanted them that way. Don't think either hack would need to be included... once the lot is packed with sims, all hacks and mods   could be removed from the game before packaging.

Of course, they would have to be lots from a completely new and empty neighbourhood with no other Sims in them (to prevent fiery balls)

ducks and covers in anticipation of the crap flinging from such a suggestion

whatever you think will work
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone have Townies they are willing to upload on: 2006 April 18, 05:42:39
How fun Cheesy

I have at least 150 Sims either cloned from PE, or custom created.
They're mostly child to adult though there are a few elders...toddlers too if you need a few for an adoption pool.. heh heh
I think most were born in game, but 'special' enough that I felt a need to clone them. They're all named, so it would be easy enough to send you specifics (teens, adults, children or whatever you need to fill in gaps)

Could pop them into Bodyshop and do a custom content check (try to send you some without including 3G of CC)

pm me if you're interested

(what a cool idea)

piping in again just to tell you that you are doing a fantastic job and I am still watching this thread closely...

I can't wait to have these in my game!

but no pressure Wink

take your time, these look better everytime I see them
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge where are thou? on: 2006 April 05, 21:22:34
NOOOoooo....

*weeps inconsolably with Ashleigh...
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Squinge found something interesting... on: 2006 April 04, 23:44:17
Couldn't you disable that, limiting it only to babies (toddlers) ?
Seems to me something like that should only show up if you click on a young 'un. Well, that's how I'd want it to work anyway.

Not that I know how to do anything like that, but I'm sure a lot of people here could figure it out easily...
86  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Template Replacements (Work in Progress - Pictures) on: 2006 April 03, 19:50:07
Very cool,
I really like them, it's the first set I've seen where the faces are 1.Not completely hideous, yet still 2. Not identical. I am pretty thrilled with what I see so far and will anxiously await their completion.

Only 1 suggestion, which you can note or disregard as you see fit...

When you upload them, can you do them separately?
I have an elf replacement that is not too bad and I think it would be wonderful to have the option of mixing and matching. (perfectly happy to download them all, but some default replacement packages come in one big file that are not easily separated by the likes of me) It would be nice to be able to switch them around when generating new townies to get a variety.

87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Everyone in my 'hood will be wearing the hat! on: 2006 April 03, 19:24:48
...wouldn't a basket of eggs have been more appropriate? Or even egg-hats for our egghead sims.

Only if the Sims could use the eggs to throw at people instead of waterballoons. Now that would be a worthwhile prank for a grouchy Sim... heh heh
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Handy object for toddlers on: 2006 April 03, 17:59:44
you can always use a custom potty for those sims you want to see make it... besides, neat sims will empty them anyway Wink
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Handy object for toddlers on: 2006 April 02, 14:50:26
I do have no baby harrassment, but almost had to kill the parents to stop them from pulling him off of the blanket.
I think it's ok once he's asleep, just that tired time that they're drawn to him...

I love it though
90  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The Hostel Challenge: Not My idea on: 2006 March 27, 08:12:45
I used downloaded celebrity Sims
Can't remember how many of what I had on my lot... probably about 8 or 9 fridges, a couple stoves, a bunch of microwaves, trash compactors and dishwashers... I had a few pianos (pre-uni) and easels, a big tv that I had my Sim turn on to the cooking channel in her 'free hour', 2 chess boards, a few computers...a telescope (BritneySpears was abducted) a pool no one used, hottubs and stereos they all used....

I left mine on for a day and a half, they were all alive, 4 in Platinum (knowledge, family and romance) 2 gold... Paris Hilton was my fortune Sim -ooo, poor Paris was always in the red Sad heh heh

I didn't take any hacks out though, so they paid their bills and served meals (no Lovebed at that time though)
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Fun pack at *GRASPS* $20.00! on: 2006 March 27, 07:57:26
I can't believe anyone who downloads cc would even consider buying the Family Pack. What I've seen of it so far is so crappy that if I'd downloaded it, it would have ended up in the recycle bin instantly.

Perhaps if Maxis included a way for us to delete their items (even if it only the textures so they don't clog up the options) I would be more tempted to try their stupid boosters, but for now, I already have way too much ugly Maxis stuff in my game and I'm only at University...

My Sim kids spend a lot of time skilling too and while I occasionally use the 'chain training' to cheat them along, even those without talented parents get a day or two off to just be stupid. I can't imaging being bothered to dress them in costumes or crap just so they can play with a *gasp* newly shaped toybox... blech,

I was really hoping to see some new animations and options for toddlers and kids, but I guess I will continue to rely on CCcreators for that...
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Should Brynne Live or Die? on: 2006 March 15, 13:14:12
I'm with Rainbow...

Though I completely understand and respect your decision to let townies die, Brynne is not just any townie... She's Brynne, and how could anyone let her go in such a unflashy unglorious way? It would just be wrong (heh heh -TaWanda) Obviously the fact that you're consulting us demonstrates you feel the same..(and therefore NOT a horrible woman)

Guess that's why I can't play the Maty Sims... I wouldn't be able to separate the person from the Sim Wink
93  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Load package in sim surgery. on: 2006 March 15, 02:19:33
ooh, I'll try it and edit to let you know how it goes...
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Social Worker brainwashed the kids and fed them elixar! on: 2006 March 14, 12:21:30
Sounds like Zyrcona would prefer to kill the kid though...
Though they're few and far between, I would let my unwanted (annoying) kids go off to the adoption pool or make them townies (via shrub) but I've also put them there using SimPE.
I prefer to sit them in a room studying though... then make then little slaves, they do all the cooking and cleaning and amuse toddlers to up social...when they hit teen, they are also responsible for all household maintenance and care of younger siblings.
It seems harsh at times, but I have a lot of friends who grew up that way... I can tell you, they don't usually grow up to be family Sims Wink

95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help With Changing Genetics on: 2006 March 14, 10:51:51
but didn't someone say that to change expressed eye colour, you need to change Age Data?

I like SimPE, but have to say that the ease of SimEnhancer is really appealing...(had it for TS1, but don't now)
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Social Worker brainwashed the kids and fed them elixar! on: 2006 March 14, 10:49:42
I think their age is reset because (for me anyway) it would bite to adopt a toddler and have it age to child that very day... also, Maxis was probably thinking that if you adopt a child, it's ties to the former family should be severed (after all, there's a possibility that a child could be adopted by a great-great-niece or nephew)
I've used Inge's shrub (to assign custody to the other parent or grandparents) and it's very good in that memories, ties and wants are still intact. The kids will never 'want' interactions with grandparents as they would with parents, they just spin general wants that anyone can fill.
Have also used it for 'foster parents' and the same goes...though parental visitation will cause those 'parent wants' to spin for the child.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Two weird things, for the price of one game on: 2006 March 13, 06:06:15
hmm, so you can use them as surrogates... well, sort of..
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: *Squeal like a little girl* - new toddler mirror on: 2006 February 28, 23:14:00
Awesome, thanks for mentioning it!
I have tons of Sim toddlers so I'm always on the lookout for new toddler things...

Have you guys tried Shaklin's bobby car? http://shaklin.ath.cx/xoops/modules/PDdownloads/viewcat.php?cid=1 though their expressions don't change, it's pretty hilarious.

edit to investigate messed up post..(thanks for the head's up nectere) It looked ok to me before, but who can tell what it looks like on other browsers!?
Hope it's better...
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Burning DVDs for Dummies? on: 2006 February 24, 19:21:15
heh heh, I have nothing to contribute except... You get to play Sims at work? Shocked
100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: When Bad Things Happen to Good Sims on: 2006 February 24, 19:19:07
I only exit without saving if there's a glitch so I've had all kinds of terrible things happen and it really does add some interest to the game as I'm too nice to inflict disasters myself.

My 5th generation Legacy heir was about an hour from popping out generation 6 and just sitting down to her first bite when when Pao the mailman (founder's hubby) decided to pop out of her TV dinner and say 'boo'. The only Sim near enough was her uncle who barely gave her the time of day, but he was able to plead her back. Though it would have sucked to end it there, I was prepared to get her (very gay) uncle to bite the bullet and stray on his loving husband to continue if necessary.

What really bothers me is repairmen. I only use them for electronic repairs and wait until I have a couple before calling one, so it really gets my goat to get those who set the house on fire then leave with my Simoleans though they haven't repaired a thing. It's easier to just throw broken things to the curb and replace them.
