51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Look out!!! M&G runs from its own disk, not latest EP. on: 2008 November 21, 18:25:25
and what exactly does it mean seeded?
seeded means that there are sources to download from, other users who already have the file and let you download from their computer.
and please do not spread the link too fast, I still need to register a collector's account. Without one, only 10 downloads will be possible, which shall go to the community of awesome. Once I have found out how to get a collector's account and it is registered, feel free to share.

on my fateful try to install MGS, I had the same problem. It seems that somehow, a few files from AL can encounter modification, which has the patch fail. restoring from the AL disc helps.

H&M and Ikea were good. K&B was a waste of bytes. I don't have the others, they never appealed to me.
are you kidding, K&B is probably the only half-decent one.

anyway, I am stuck with SuckURom now and the game failed to run properly.

To all owners of legit copies of the game
an Arr'd version of the stuff pack has been detected. To confirm its validity, we request your help. We need the folloing information:
  • is it really named Sims2EP9 in the executable and the disc label?
  • what are the MD5 hashes, or at least the file sizes, of the game executable and the executables in the root of the disc?
Thank you for your help

Isn't H&M or something EP9? I remember one of them being EP13, so it would make sense that SPs count as EPs internally. It's been awhile and I haven't installed the game at all on my now-on-life-support system as I can never play it on this thing again.

Some people were also reporting that they need to use the AL disc to play the game. Hm...
there is a difference between game versions, which counts EPs, SPs and the base game with one single number, and EP/SP versions. Basically, it goes as following:
EP1: Uni
EP2: NL
EP3: OfB
SP1: FFS
SP2: GLS
EP4: Pets
EP5: Sns
SP4: CS
SP5: H&M
EP6: BV
SP6: TSS
EP7: FT
SP7: K&B
SP8: Ikea
EP8: AL
EP(?)9: MGS

actually, the CEP mostly only modifies the scenegraph, so it can only be blamed for visual problems like missing recolors, blue-flashing textures and invisible parts.

65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Streamlining load times - is this possible? on: 2008 October 10, 18:52:33
You know how simPE lets us boot TS2 from within the simPE app.
Would it be possible for a program to somehow let us choose a neighbourhood, then a residential lot from before the game has even been launched, therefore bypassing the need to go through all three loading screens and choosing after each one?

Some of us have some extreme loading times (mine is about 11 minutes from desktop to lot) and if this could be managed then we would see less waiting around.

Possible?
This is anything but extreme... Back in the day, I used to play it with loading times of half an hour - to the main menu.

Oh, cool, a latin grammar nazi!
Go, breyerii!

Ceterum autem censeo, Carthaginem esse delendam.
I used that as frequent non sequitur somewhere some time ago. I once thought about a script to add that with the press of a button so I could attach it to a monologue, and I might have even decided to use it as a signature somewhere. After all, it was originally used non sequens.

And Pescado, I know dog latin is enough for you, with all the pseudo-latin double-i genitives you use.

o Sims with Body Skills from 1 to 4 are now susceptible to death by Murphy Bed
Do they serioulsy mean 1 to 4 and not 0 to 4 (or 0-3)?

Quote
o Correct Sim names will now be displayed for all Networking Messages
This is the only one I've noticed and been annoyed by.
0 should have been working all the time, but 1-4 are new. The minimum body skill to be save appears to have been foolishly set to 0.05 (or was it 0.005) instead of 5.
73  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: window fix on: 2008 September 28, 17:17:05
with the CEP updated, this fix is no longer necessary for CEP users.

75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Extracted Xbox files. on: 2008 September 12, 20:46:26
I guess it depends on the individual game. Some are ported between console and PC, whereas others, like for example all sim games, are rewritten with an entirely different backend, and most likely not using the familiar format from TS2, which makes conversion impractical.
