who knows what they will do... paid subscriptions for content-making licenses, tools that force exchange use, full control of CC...
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 19, 11:48:48
Did they actually claim to release a securom-free game? As far as I am aware, they only claimed that the measures enabled were not as harsh as the Splotchoid ones (such as online activation).
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Magic Wand question on: 2009 April 30, 19:18:47
I notice that, if you are building a lot, and you toggle night-time, you have to wave the wand to get all the lights to turn on in build mode.  This is one reason to wave the thing around, rather than just set it down and pick it up again.
There is actually no difference that occurs with extended waving vs. quick brandishing. The effects occur the moment you drag the wand over a worldtile, it doesn't matter how much you wave it about. However, the lights have a delayed fade-on effect, so it takes them time to go from their off state to fully illuminating the room, because it takes time for the dark to leave the room. It has to do with the speed of dark.
Are the "particles" carrying the dark called antiphotons, maurons or some other name?

For male users, this issue is even worse, as a giant heat source in your lap is not a good idea when the reproductive system is located externally for cooling.
I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like you're actually gooing to be using it anytime soon.
"Gooing"... was that an intentional pun?
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: These two rigs are on the horizon... on: 2009 April 09, 08:05:38
Those are some seriously excessive stats for a lappy. Don't blame me when it ends up on FIRE when you try to use it.

31  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: No Titles for Witches on: 2009 March 07, 19:22:03
Really simple, I just removed the text from the witches/warlocks so it doesn't show as Blah Bluh the Incredibly Annoying Warlock anymore. The file has to be titled Live.package or this won't work.
Now I'm inspired to actually make that as a title.
And you think this is an eccelent excelent excellent idea and you are glad you thought of it?
EDIT: Stupid Spanish class screwing with my consonantitude! TWICE!
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Merging of sims bodies. Is this sign of corruption? on: 2009 March 02, 19:19:53
That is just a clipping bug. It happens simply because the collision detection in the Sims is not really that well modelled, and is harmless.
there is collision detection? I thought that was just some great feature a sequel should have.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Baby Roaster Excluded From Ballot! ROCK THE VOTE! on: 2009 March 02, 19:17:16
Well, at least it was acknowledged in the winnar thread.
34  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Kitchen & Bath Stuff on: 2009 February 13, 22:16:22
As far as I know, K&B Stuff Pack isn't available for Mac.

Oops.  I forgot how hard things are for Mac users.  My condolences.
Condolences? It was probably that user's own stupidity that led it to getting a mac.
edited for gender neutrality

Is apologizing for being offensive really the MATY way?
Anyway, you have to make a distinction between "nudism-loving" and "naked-people-loving". I am sure there are people interested in this stuff who do not care about nude recreation/lifestyle but rather just want to see naked pixel-bodies.

absolutely disgusting thread title
38  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Spore De-Authorization Tool on: 2008 December 23, 15:02:55
Sounds like a thoroughly useless tool, if you can't actually deactivate computers for the reason anyone WOULD: Because the other computer DIED.
That, and it still has DRM, which is known to be hated. If it were not for crackers, what would happen when EA will finally end support for this game?
39  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: Freaky Furries on: 2008 December 09, 12:16:38
Thing is, a lot of those Genesim skins are really well made. I thought we were supposed to be looking for awful stuff?
awful and/or disturbing. Since furries are disturbing by nature, and since some of those skins are really WTF in nature, they qualify without lacking quality.
40  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: Freaky Furries on: 2008 December 04, 18:51:23
I believe when it comes to furries, Genensims is the most prominent example

I keep some in my game for when I want to create alien races, together with stuff like the uber-shiny Bink13y-reflectoskins and the weirder kinds of Pixieware

41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: M&G setQuarterTilePlacement on/off new decorating "cheat" on: 2008 November 29, 21:16:52
This "cheat" breaks up the grid into 4 sections letting you move objects closer together/centering them without having to do the boolprop snapobjectstogrid true/false command all the time.

Four sections ? I count sixteen !
Or, I really should wear glasses.
that depends on whether you consider the grid to be the squares formed by it or the distance between the lines.

in other places I would just say "+1", but here I use the more formal "I agree with you here, this is a great idea".
43  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: No M&G folder on: 2008 November 25, 11:09:51
The thing is, Lerf, there are three types of responses you could get when you ask for help with a problem that looks like basic computer illiteracy.  There are the very nice patient "we were all there once" type.  There are the reponses that are helpful and informative in that they do tell you how to solve your problem, but come laced with an overtone of impatience.  Then there are the non-responses from people who simply roll their eyes at the mess and move on to another more aware and interesting thread.   Don't snip at the people who actually bothered helping you, quietly despise those who couldn't be bothered, just as they are quietly rolling their eyes at you.
This is MATY. Failure is seen as a result of stupidity and merits pointing and laughing. If that offends you, maybe this is not the right place for you.
44  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Mansion and Garden stuff pack uninstalled Freetime? on: 2008 November 22, 20:38:06
I've just loaded up the newly installed Mansion and Garden stuff pack and got a message along the lines of 'You have uninstalled Freetime and any hobby lots will be removed', and a choice to continue or quit. I've quit and am wondering if the fix is as simple as reinstalling Freetime, or if everything is now FUBAR'd?

The game, including Freetime, worked fine at last load this morning before I installed M & G. Has this happened for anyone else? I'm wondering if it's because I left the cracked exe for Apartment Life in.

ETA: Freetime installed over the top, nothing asploded, no hobby enthusiasm appears to have been lost and I'm currently delighted with the quarter tile placement cheat and sunflowers.
a registry tweak should fix such issues

46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Look out!!! M&G runs from its own disk, not latest EP. on: 2008 November 21, 23:28:19

After downloading the files, I am getting a request to "Enter password for the encrypted file:  TS.2.MG.Stuff-RELOADED"
when I try to extract the files.  Do we need a password to extract the files?  I normally download the files via utorrent so I have not encountered this issue before.
look on the download page, then you will see the password.

Just being over cautious here (also reading here fills time while I update my backup on my external drive) if I now install my arrquired version and use the very shiny no-dvd crack will M&G do anything silly like uninstall AL
even if it does (it did not for me), fixing this should be a simple reghack

No-CD only, and the bloatation has been since the introduction of SecuRom.
