You're not extracting the whole rar/zip, you're just viewing the contents of that rar/zip file.

When you double-click the SimPe file within ZipGenius, the executable is extracted alone into a temporary folder. Attempting to execute that file results in a crash, due to the lack of the remaining files.

Thanks to Inge, you don't have to worry about this anymore. Wink

I did extract everything in the zip, to C:\Program Files, etc.  When I then opened Program Files, it wasn't there; Windoze didn't see it.  I had to use another program to see where it was, but I couldn't actually access the folder (which got named "SimPe_0_72_00-with" by ZipGenius.)  Bizarre, eh?

I realize it doesn't apply to SimPE anymore, but I hope I described my problem better this time -- for future reference, anyway.  Grin

Thanks to Inge and Numenor for getting an auto-installer up!  Smiley

Cat, you install it just by un7zing it.  It will make its own folder.  Go into the folder and double-click SimPE.exe.  That will load SimPE.

I'm having a problem with this and will do my best to describe it.  When I extract it using ZipGenius, it is only visible to ZipGenius; it's invisible to Windows and I cannot access it.  Make any sense?  Undecided

Edited 'cause I can't type (lol).

I can't download it.  When I try, I'm taken to Version 0.68.

I did try TorrentReactor, etc., etc., but didn't know I could choose which file to download in the complete ones (although their weren't a lot of useful comments in those either).  Really, thanks for the tips everyone -- I'll keep them in mind if I decide to restart my pirate career.  Grin

My patience is minimal (too much going on in RL), so I finally caved and bought it.  Roll Eyes

The only ones I can find on Pirate Bay with any *useful* comments make it clear they have worms/viruses.  I thank you for restraining yourselves from poking me with pointy sticks, though my next question will probably earn those.  Is anyone here willing to share? *ducks

In the meantime, I'll take your advice and search Demonoid, though I must say I'm getting mighty discouraged from the fruitless Google searches.  I'm on the verge of giving up my would-be pirating career already, and I've been at it less than five hours.  Grin

Edit:  If anyone cares (and I'm guessing no), I found nothing on Demonoid.  I've given up my budding pirate career for now as well (except for the Booty, naturally).  Life's too bloody short.  Grin

My Google-fu and search-fu are weak.  Grin  So at the risk of getting poked with pointy sticks -- where can I find a safe arrr'ed copy of H&M?  I read in this thread to search the Pirate Bay, and to look for versions by Reloaded, Vitality, etc., but could not find any by them. Undecided

Er...I suppose if I use any of these hacks (specifically LotFullOfSims) my game will be a BFBVFS?  Undecided

Also, I learned Squinge's PregnancyWearAnyOutfit borks the new closets (thanks to some other posters).

Update:  I tried removing all unsupported and/or non-awesome hacks and still cannot see ceilings in live mode.  Roll Eyes
I believe you have to be in cameraman mode to see ceilings. Or, at the very least, have your camera set so that it's below the ceiling line. I haven't tested that second theory, though.

Or maybe you didn't toggle the ceiling button? I missed it at first, too.

I toggled the ceiling button right away.  As for having the camera set below the ceiling line (if you mean what I think you do), that doesn't work either, Katuchan.  But thanks for the responses!  Smiley

I'll probably be poked with pointy sticks, as I haven't removed all unsupported hacks (if you want me to be moar specific, I'll be happy to tell you); but I wondered about my ceilings.  I can only see them using the 45-degree angle button.  I don't have ACR, Inteen, etc.; I *have* updated all awesome hacks.  Could it be because I have integrated graphics, or could it be a bug?

Also (possibly unrelated to AL) I can only put a couple beards on my males in Body Shop.

Any insight would be muchly appreciated.  Grin

I probably should have stayed in perpetual lurkdom, but I wondered why the Deco build items and curtains won't show up in my game (when the other items do show).  I downloaded the fixed Deco items from the first page.

More importantly, though, I wanted to thank everyone for sharing. Grin
