1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: A serious error has occurred while loading "savegame.sims3" on: 2010 August 26, 19:00:08
At least TS3 isn't too bad to reinstall at the moment as there aren't too many EPs and SPs to re-install.
No, but there are fifty million patches. As of right now, I have 23 separate patches backed up on my D: drive.

If you're patching after reinstalling, you can download one mega patch that will bring you reinstalled up to date.  You can go here for the direct links to the patches.

Would *THEY* understand? Hell, *I* don't even understand. It utterly eludes me why you would want to force a relationship that is clearly not functioning. This strikes me as being like that "Tard Logic" picture showing a square peg being bashed into a round hole by repeated, inaccurate hammering. Someone find me that image? Because that's what "Couples Counseling" sounds like to me. Frankly, it seems useless and I only included it on the Skillinator for completeness.

Lorelei, do you still have the sim ferret?  I searched and searched but I could never find it. Sad
May take a while, as I'm knee-deep in commission work and school projects, but if you can't find it, I'll do it.

There's no rush.  Do it when you have a bit of time.  Thanks! Smiley

And I found more info on the gorilla thing..
Surprise cake dancers:
Buy two cake dancing cakes. Then, hire a male cake dancer. Then, try to hire another male dancer with the other cake. The message "You've already hired that cake dancer!" will appear. Ignore this, and click "OK". Keep trying to hire another male cake dancer, and sooner or later you will either get the Tragic Clown or Elvis. The same can be done with hiring two females, but you will get someone in a pink gorilla suit.

Well, I dusted off my Sims 1 game; and using a female sim I could only order a female and male performer from the cakes.  No gorilla. Sad  I didn't have her start a party so I'll have to try that to see if it makes a difference.

Lorelei, do you still have the sim ferret?  I searched and searched but I could never find it. Sad
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Play Style: The Nitty Gritty on: 2007 July 18, 01:52:02
- I create sims the most.  Sims 2 is just a more complex version of a paper doll to me.

- lots: If I'm in it for game play then the houses are pretty sparse and walls are almost always partially down meaning if I'm close up they're down but farther away they're not. If I am trying to recreate a story I decorate fully. Smiley

- genetics:  I prefer being able to play the spawn game in CAS where I can decide if that's really how I want the youngings to look but I don't mind it when I'm playing a challenge.  Sometimes a characteristic I wouldn't of allowed can become a feature for that sim and I can play it up/down with makeup/hair/clothing.

- I'm pretty bad at building and tend to get irritated by the inability to move walls instead of having to tear them down and build them back up.  I prefer downloading other's work and making it my own.  I play in bursts so I have never hung onto a neighborhood that long except for when the first came out and I was tickled to pieces by my sim-real family.  When the next expansion comes I usually start over.

- relationships and interactions:  With the creation of macros, dizy's improved free will mod, and ACR I am pretty hands off unless I have a goal in mind for the sim.  I like them to build the initial relationship on their own so I know where the relationship should lead.

- comm versus home:  With Seasons I'm staying more at home.  However, I had a sim who stayed on community lots the entirety of his life and he had a blast.  I would like to do that again sometime soon.

- city/country/suburban? Suburban, but I'll do city when I eventually download all those fantastic sets of lots people have been doing.

- do you do themes? (aliens, medieval, Victorian) nope

- do you play with pets?  Nearly every family has to have a pet unless I feel it doesn't go well with how the family is.

- do you do the vamp/werewolf/alien/zombie thing, or are you more a 'real person' player?:  I've been told my play style is boring on more than one occasion.  I have had a least one of each mentioned but really to try it out and I dump them pretty quickly.

- hacks:  I used to swear by insimenator but I haven't used it since Pets came out.  It's really a mixture of both harder and easier.. harder to make it semi more realistic but easier in the tediousness part of the game.  Clicking, "go to bed," on a sim is much easier than having to stop everything and find the floor the bed is on, click it and hope the sim doesn't cancel it out or wanders off.  The added feature of them automatically queueing to go to the bathroom after waking up is a total win.

-cc:  I used to download a lot of everything but since the latest expansion packs have been such a load on my computer I mainly choose things to dress up the sim and some objects where the game is really lacking.

-my cc:  I make clothing.

Heck, they turned the original keg they made into a pineapple because before it looked too much like a real keg!  EA will never do real parties..

I like the original better.  I wonder if it's lurking in the game files somewhere..

Could that of been packaged up in a lot?

I know a lot of people think Dr. Phil is a hack but I believe he has said a few gems of wisdom.  If you feel like you cannot flirt with someone else in front of your partner then you shouldn't be doing it.

* Li'l Brudder clap.
Most general freakin' statement of the year.  You must be proud.

I was general because those packages get fucked up whether by user stupidity or not and we don't know who/what was the cause.  What was important was the link on how to fix it.  Get over yourself.
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: default pajamas furbed on: 2007 May 16, 02:44:12
Heh, looks like you deleted the meshes or they disappeared or something.

Instructions on how to fix it.

I use these by Knightskykyte Non-shiny and better colour than Maxis. My only gripe is the elders have smooth-skinned faces, but I usually put wrinkles on them to combat this.

After reading the very annoying rant from the creator of those, I'm going to put nipples and hair on them just to spite him!   Cheesy
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Snapshot Size Adjustment on: 2007 May 07, 23:59:47
I've been looking for a way for years.. since the base game came out. x_x  The best I could do is install an external screen capture program to get the screens in the size I want.

I use http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/

Numenor made a hack that removes the visual effect of the sprinkler so it doesn't slow down your game but it still waters the plants.  This helped me considerably.

15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Kitty Condo on: 2007 April 27, 18:57:01
My three year old cat likes to sleep practically anywhere.. piles of clothes, in clothes baskets, dining room table, all the beds, any floor, any chair/couch.. right now he is behind me sleeping on the window air conditioner unit outside.  Oh, he loves sleeping in boxes too!

My eleven year old cat only sleeps outside (he has a place in the backyard he always sits in), the air conditioner unit, the floor, and chairs.  He likes to claim chairs as soon as we get up!
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack for sinks to actually work on kids. on: 2007 April 27, 18:49:55
There's a cool new hand wash stuff for kids that "dyes" the hands until they're washed long enough.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Kitty Condo on: 2007 April 26, 04:50:50
Someone needs to fix it so the cats actually use it!!  Or at least point me in the right direction to up the advertising on it.  I know my RL cats will sleep *anywhere* but my simmies' kittehs should use the condo!
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't sell my food in my bakery, Please help! on: 2007 April 08, 01:55:31
Have you tried using move_objects on to place them?
What food related mods do you have?
Have you tried moving your downloads out and reloading the game to see if you could place the food?
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't sell my food in my bakery, Please help! on: 2007 April 08, 00:45:38
Yeah that made sense but I had no walls touching the refrigerated shelves. Sad
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't sell my food in my bakery, Please help! on: 2007 April 08, 00:11:59
The new celebration cakes (both wedding and birthday) refuse to go on the shelves without move_objects on.  Sad  Stupid EA Maxis. >.<
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2007 April 07, 17:54:55
First, let me thank you for doing this for the community.  I've been looking at this thread for a while and decided to finally take the plunge to eliminate the EA Maxis scourge!  Now all the 'hoods and sub 'hoods in my game are properly expunged except for the new 'hood, RiverBlossom Hills.  Are you planning to do that 'hood as well?
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Ottomas family in Seasons - normal brokenness and more brokenness on: 2007 March 11, 16:12:52
I aged the sim up to elder to abort the pregnancy then back down to adult.

All of that stuff in the mini pack should be on their site for *free*!

Uh, why?

They used to give out free items all the time with the first game.  $10 for 20 items?  Come on!

I thought you couldn't open a business on a University campus.  Is there a hack for this?   Huh

I've begged Pescado for it but he wasn't keen on the idea. :/
