1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What defines "Growing up well"? on: 2009 July 24, 17:34:40
I've only had one pregnancy where I haven't been able to choose both traits for the baby so far. The mother spent most of the pregnancy with that moodlet they get from seeing a loved one die (her boyfriend had turned to an elder since the last time she saw him, two days earlier, but I decided to continue the relationship anyway, have them spend the night together and get engaged and married over breakfast. They tried for a baby and got out of bed; he kissed her and immediately died.).

They don't get a comfort moodlet, but they do get a little cuddle time one.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does the Vegetarian Trait affect anything besides food choices? on: 2009 July 08, 03:16:14
I've never seen a cow attack anyone

They will. Cows can be very protective animals and occasionally downright mean.

Also, pigs will kill you. On one side of my family, they're all farmers and several of them have died from pig related incidents

One thing people who are baffled by meat substitutes tend to forget is that meat substitues RARELY, if ever, taste much like the meat they're supposed to be replacing.

I personally don't like hamburger. Dead cow is fine as a slab, but all ground up, not so much. Rather than have to make something entirely different when my family grills up some burgers, I have a soy burger. It tastes nothing like hamburger (nor is the texture even terribly similar), but it isn't half bad with some ketchup and onions on it.

Love you, too, Pescado. Love you, too.

TS3 HeyYeah

She's a YA, I named her Hailey Yeah, 'cause I'm original like that. She looks like this:

In CAS

And in game (and in 'jammies)

Voice is set at the high end of 3, possibly the low end of 2. Whatever it is you can mess with it if you like. People say I have the voice of a 12 year old boy so make it sound like that if you want some accuracy.

Traits:
(She should come with)
Computer Whiz
Couch Potato
Evil
Loner
Vegetarian (for the record, I'm actually not, but I am a very picky eater and this is the trait that captures the feeling the best)

(add-ons/substitutes)
Artistic
Dislikes Children
Frugal
Mooch
Natural Cook

Lifetime Wish: Emperor of Evil

Favorites:
Color - Spiceberry
Music -  Electronica
Food - Mac and Cheese or Waffles

I think that covers everything relevant.
7  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You January: Gameplay Glitches on: 2009 January 11, 05:29:37
Exiled, I think I had that exact same set of glitches some time back. I want to say it was something non-awesome conflicting with firemod, but I don't really remember.
8  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / More Awful Than You! January: Accessories on: 2009 January 02, 06:35:49

Taking some initiative here since it has been January for well over a day now...

This month's challenge is to find accessories, really bad ones. Fugly recolors, WTF inducing useless things that you wouldn't think anyone would want, the just plain bad, etc.

For example, these masterpieces, from Peggyzone:

I'm thinking they're supposed to be wings. Or feathers. Or demented snowflakes of some sort. Whatever they are, they are huge and weird. I can understand having wings for whatever reason, but these are HUGE. I actually downloaded the male accessory and a couple recolors to show how ridiculously oversized they are.

At least they are free. Find them around pages 6 - 12 if you think you can find a use for them.
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Toddler disappearance on: 2008 December 27, 05:10:54
I'm thinking the toddler is gone for good because of how the memory doesn't have a subject. A while back I lost a baby in a similar situation to yours after saving and exiting, but that hood may have been going BFBVFS before that, and I'm not sure if it was a symptom, a contributing factor, or completely unrelated. There was also some other strangeness with that family, though.
10  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You December (New) on: 2008 December 21, 21:41:17
In an inverse to Callista's child-toddler, I've got baby-toddlers that don't light well and a baby-child from a 'hood a while back (it has since went BFBVFS. Whether this incident is related or not has not been determined)

Bonus! Floaty child-teen flirting with his girlfriend with baby-toddler and baby-child in background.

11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: Freaky Furries on: 2008 December 13, 20:14:51
In a similar vein as freakish childhood-memory ruining My Little Pony sim, I present to you,

Scooby Doo, available at MTS2.

12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: A Shiny is a Fish! Bathing suit for little girls! on: 2008 November 13, 23:50:38
Is cute, but on close inspection, the fish looks like it is belly up, which is mildly disturbing. I think this'll go on my more anti-social simlets.
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sim looks pregnant... She's not. on: 2008 October 29, 20:21:19
Have you tried just forcing an error on her so she resets? I think that's what I did when I had a sim be stuck with a baby bump.
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: The game ate mah baby (and a bit of other weirdness). on: 2008 October 04, 19:23:48
No, I'm running Pets, and other babies born since have saved just fine.
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: The game ate mah baby (and a bit of other weirdness). on: 2008 October 04, 05:52:14
I sent the teen to Uni, and there appears to be no issues other than the question of how he disappeared in the first place.

The baby does seem like a VBT. I've deleted the corrupted memories and the parents have since had another baby as a replacement, so all seems to be fairly well as of right now.
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / The game ate mah baby (and a bit of other weirdness). on: 2008 October 04, 02:42:21
(I've just continued playing, hoping this isn't a sign my hood is going to become a BFBVFS, so this isn't so much a "how can I fix this?" but rather a "what caused it, and how can I prevent it happening again")

I was playing a family, the two kids had just aged up to teens and a brand new baby had just been born. I saved and went back to the neighborhood screen, played a few other families, then quit.  The next day I went to play that first family again. The baby no longer existed. It didn't show up it the relationship panel or family tree and the memory said "Had $Subject!" instead of the baby's name.

Also, one of the boys had disappeared from the lot and wasn't selectable. The retrieve missing sim option was not available on the lot debugger, and I couldn't find him in any family using Inge's teleporter cat. He was still in the relationship pannel, and family tree, and when I went to the neighborhood screen, he was among the kids available to send to Uni.

Anyone else had anything like that happen to them?
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you organize your CC? on: 2008 September 04, 23:55:46
Once upon a time, I had dial-up and it took forever and a day (by which I mean a quarter of an hour plus) to download pretty much anything except hacks, so the only bodyshop stuff I had was crap I made or what came with selfsims, so it all ended up unorganized in the Saved Sims folder. Quite frankly, it still is because I haven't really downloaded anything new since. I did rename things so I knew what they were. I might organize it better if I ever download more.

As for hacks, the all go in the folder "Hacks" and subfolders according to the creator after I have played the game with them in the NewShitQuarantine folder once and confirmed the apparent workingness.
18  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Lest we forget: SPORE on: 2008 September 02, 00:09:54
I'm kinda interested in Spore. Once the SecuROM thing and the inevitable bugs get straightened out, it may be the first thing I torrent now that I have non-dial-up internet.
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 02:42:21
Much thanks to BastDawn for removing the purpleness.

Skata, as others have stated, you are not a speshul snowflake. You are, however, most likely a twelve who took the bait of being able to change text color. Also, you're going kinda heavy on the smilies. That's bad. Read the FAQ, and LURK MOAR.

I am so glad that I'm holding off on getting this EP. I second Lorelei's call for hilarious pics of glitches. Share your anguish for teh lulz!
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gameplay: How do YOU keep track of sim lifes? on: 2008 August 25, 18:13:36
I also use the remembering system. My hood isn't that big and I have no pressing need to write down every detail of a sim's life. I do take a snapshot when a sim ages up, so when I look at a newly aged up toddler and go, "Damn. That kid has some serious FCS," I can look at the toddler pics of its parents or older siblings and see if the poor thing will grow into its face or not.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I eat paste. on: 2008 August 20, 06:30:17
Toddlers love to eat the pet food. I have to keep the toddlers on a separate floor so they can't get to it. I don't recall if it has to do if they are hungry or not. I seem to recall a well cared for toddler that always wanted to head straight for the pet food dish.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How often do you 'reboot'? on: 2008 August 18, 16:11:09
I think the longest I've kept playing a hood is until a second generation started to go to college. I have no attention span whatsoever.  Undecided
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ridiculous 'follow' obsession on: 2008 July 30, 22:19:43
My toddlers only follow when their motives are too low to continue to skilling but the baby controller hasn't directed anyone to do anything about it.

What I AM sick of is adults carrying the toddler upstairs to Bathe Toddler when the Toddler is not dirty!  Hygiene 85-95% full, and still they have to carry them upstairs to the bathtub.  Cancel the action, and the kiddo is trapped up there.

I fixed that by just not having any bathtubs until I need one, then selling it after it was used. Then I got nobabyharassment and the problem stopped.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game Play Questions, How do YOU play? on: 2008 July 29, 23:48:41
The second generation of my hood is just starting to turn to teens, and I'm having the problem of none of them being particularly attracted to each other  Undecided. With generation 1 (and most other hoods I've played) they choose their mates with very little direction, so this is new for me. On the bright side, maybe a lack of bolts will mean that they'll be able to keep their hands off each other and won't end up with so many children. I've got a bit of a population problem (Two families are regular clown cars and only one family has less than two children), so I'm going to have to do a Trial By Fire to determine who makes it out of Uni alive because I'm not playing all those lots.

Popularity teens with one or no nice points. They want desperately to make friends but are incredibly socially inept.

I haven't had any mean Pop Sims (only 3 Pop Sims total, and they've all had 6 or more Nice points), but I HAVE had 2 Romance Sims with 1 and 2 nice points, and they were fun.  "Flirt with me!" *rejection* *flamey thought balloon* *angryface* *noogie*  "Kiss?"

My hood's one romance sim that bothered to show up on any community lots never did anything half amusing. He and my selfsim met and proceeded to roll wants involving each other nonstop.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game Play Questions, How do YOU play? on: 2008 July 26, 20:36:56
I also base aspirations on interests, friends, family, and stuff like that. A sim spends his entire toddlerhood glued to the logic building toy? He'll be a knowledge sim, unless he's really outgoing, then he'll be fortune. Youngest in a family of seven kids who hate each other? Probably not going to be a family sim.
I also determine what jobs they'll have (and what LTW I'll force them to have, messing with aspirations, interest levels and personality points until I roll it, then fixing everything) according to past experiences and what jobs family members have had. Burglar broke in while the kid was playing with his toddler toys? He'll grow up to be Captain Hero. Both parents are visionaries and they own an art gallery? The kid is probably going to want to do something different with his life..
