1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / 1.15 AM for Mac? on: 2010 September 09, 14:17:52
So sorry if this is retarded.
I can't find a normal download link for the 1.15 AM test version.
I can't use the updater because I'm on a Mac.
Yes, I searched, no, I did not find anything, yes it's possible I'm an idiot and missed it.
Please help. :]
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims finding new routes for walking stand still for hours. on: 2009 July 14, 16:23:37
My god, I forgot all about the toddlers.  My toddlers enjoy crawling all the way around the house and into the back bedroom in order to be picked up... even to go to the potty, when the mother/father has to bring the damned brat all the way back again.  RAEG.   Angry

I had a sim get frozen twice ... staring contest.

Oh my god, I just sat here and almost peed myself laughing, as this post just struck me so hilarious!

Agreed.  I can't get this terrible image of a red-headed, skinny mother-sim clutching her flailing child with a maniacal, crazed look in her eyes... muttering "Stare into my eyes, little one, enter the light..." or something of the sort.  -coughs-  Anyway.

I've had a few stuck sims who I choose to ignore and haven't experimented with in the least.  The best was a larva who left a clone of herself when she was left on the floor in front of the only bathroom.  Good times, good times.  Roll Eyes
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Sims finding new routes for walking stand still for hours. on: 2009 July 13, 19:03:13
I have been running a vanilla TS3 game from opening day until this morning, and I have a continued problem with sims finding routes to walk.  They get stuck.  Yes, I know they are often slow and stupid, but my game seems particularly bad at this.  I have AwesomeMod now, but it doesn't document any changes in this nor have I noticed any in the ~5 hours of gameplay I had with it in.  My issue is: when two sims are anywhere within 15 grid tiles of each other, walking towards each other, they stop walking if the area they wish to pass each other in is 6 tiles wide or less.  Now, if one went and then the other that would be fine with me.  But they have been known to "stick", for hours on end, tapping their feet and making false starts every hour or so in which they both decide they can't walk.  Further actions queue but do not work, even if they direct the sim to turn around and go back the way they came.  I end up just having to wait it out, since I am a bit phobic of resetting sims.  And it sucks.

Does this happen to anyone else?  And if it does, is there any way to fix this?  It seems like "your turn, my turn" would be pretty easy to code, but this is EAxis, I guess.  :/  Can any modders help?

[I apologize in advance, I know this post doesn't flow well, but I haven't gotten any sleep and I'm afraid my brain just isn't up to the task of smoothing this out.  I've read it over a few times and it does, at least, seem intelligible.]
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sim advances four levels in career because he is lucky? on: 2009 July 13, 12:59:04
I have had a lot of sims in the Culinary career track, and they have had bosses.  Next to their Job Performance bar, it had a little "Boss" with a face depending on how well I knew the boss.  (So normal functionality...).  Without a boss existent, the little "Boss" indicator is also missing, which indicates either a tie between the Boss relationship and the Boss meter, or a deeper problem removing Bosses entirely.

The wife in the first family I played developed a stuck "Cozy Fire" moodlet after her fireplace caught on fire.  Unfortunately she produced too much spawn and annoyed me, so I never found out how long it would stick, but she developed it while pregnant and the maggot was halfway through the Child stage on Long lifespans when I quit the house.

I just installed the Awesomemod this morning, and I did in fact notice that my founder sim in my Legacy did not have a boss in her Culinary career track.  She is friends with several co-workers who are as high as level 5 in that job... shouldn't one of them be her boss?  She is a schmoozer and can't Suck Up to Boss while at work because her boss doesn't exist.  This has never happened to me before with my previously-vanilla game, and I miss the big job performance boost and fast raises/promotions.  :/

Thank you!  I was so worried about having to seem like the stupid n00b I am, requesting help figuring out where in God's name those files went... big thumbs up for creating Mac support! :]

Cheesy:D:D

Its installing!  Fixed the internet myself, I did.  This better be worth it.

Mhmmm.  I killed my computer.  SIlly Internet tech guy is coming to fix it tomorrow or the day after. D:

Stupid Nemesis.

Also, how do you make sure the key you are using has not been used 3 times already?

If you're talking about that 3-times-max installation thing that's supposed to be used with the latest version of Securom in upcoming games, that doesn't exist in Free Time (and I'm pretty sure not in K&B or Ikea either). And well, since we're talking about ARRing here, no worries about Securom anyway. Wink

Well, thats good to know.

Er, google searches say keygen = good?  I don't intend on fully registering the game at the EAxis site or anything, I just want it to work. ^^

I am about to embark on a massive battle with my modem and internet company.  I'm paying for 840 kb/s, and getting around 10 kb/s.  Have been since November, when it decided a "Network cable is unplugged."  No it damn well isn't!  Usually I don't worry to much about it, but downloading this... I let it run overnight and its still only at 32%. Dxx  Been in voicejail for a while now...
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Some help with torrents? on: 2008 June 29, 00:03:01
Thanks, both of you!  That helps a lot.  Stupid Nemesis may manage this yet. xD
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Some help with torrents? on: 2008 June 28, 23:24:43
OK, I used search first.  But I didn't seem to be able to find a tutorial, or anything that described the process well enough that I did not fear breaking my computer out of my ineptitude.  So, if such a thing exists, please point me towards it and laugh at me.  Grin

Basically, I know this.  Find realiable torrent site.  Read comments to make sure torrent does not equal TROJAN/FAKE.  Find a key and use it to install.

As the file appears to be something called a .torrent, I know I am missing a step here.  Surely there must be some kind of program necessary to open such a thing?

Also, how do you make sure the key you are using has not been used 3 times already?

If anyone is interested, this si the torrent I want to download:  http://www.mininova.org/com/1201206.  If someone had a link to a better, SecuROM free Freetime torrent, please do hand it over. xD

I'm sorry for my neediness, by the by.  I'm just terrified of Massive Computer Death.  Or, y'know, downloading a 930 MB file only to find it useless to me.  Either one.

And again, I am also sorry if there is a tutorial/guide somewhere on the site.  My search skills are not optimal at this point, need moar upgradez.

Gnome it is.  Stupid EAxis.  Thanks for the quick reply! Cheesy

Nemesis = too lazy to read all of this, so I apologize if this question has been asked already.

When using "Kick Stuff" on a college dorm with a pink flamingo, the pink flamingo will occasionally become stuck with a pie menu option of "Stand Up" while it is standing up.  If you direct a sim to do so, said sim will throw a fit about not being able to walk over to the flamingo, even while standing next to it.  I tried enabling boolProp testingcheatsenabled true, and forcing and error - and there were no options on the flamingo at all.

So I keep rebuying new flamingos and selling the old ones.  But.. is there any way to fix this without resorting to that?

I have inSiminator (NOT Teen).  But other than that I have only Awesome hacks.
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Medieval Townies & Base Game NPC's for all. on: 2008 June 25, 14:53:37
OK, thanks anyways.  I might do that if I get annoyed enough at the NPCs (and if your site is back up again when I do.) xD
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Medieval Townies & Base Game NPC's for all. on: 2008 June 24, 01:01:33
^^  Lovely work!

Would it be possible to get a version with only the NPCs?  I love making my own townies, and I don't like having any other ones running about.  I'm simply incapable of creating my own NPCs, as it seems, however.  Roll Eyes
