I have made custom and game cloths as well as special ones at gold level with no issues to my game at all. The only thing I have ever experienced is a slow spot the first time they get to make cloths when the items are loading for choosing.  It pauses like when someone leaves the lot to go to work or school, other than that it works fine.

What is happening to others?

Do you know if that hack conflicts with Inteen or Insim?

I do not worry about whether they are compatible but rather on what they are like when they around each other, I tend to pair the most unlikely couple just to see if it will work.  I do have 2 families in the 5th gen.

I do find that while in college if you do not actively try and fail in things for a short period it can get boring unless I use the extra time to get into a frat/fraternity.  However, in college I have made a person to be "owner" and use Paladins check book to give that person the tuition and make it higher than they get in scholarships so they have to work or their parents send them money to make the payment. ( I believe it was Darcee that gave me this idea in a past post.  Each university has been renamed and has an "owner".)  I also use Monique's computer undated to FT (by Charvaik) for giving some children money for college when thier parents have it.  But this only works as children when they turn to teens the option is not available.

I also made one of my sims as a teen fall in love with Marsha Mellow (TSR Challenge) and get her knocked up as a teen so while he is in college he has to make a "child support" Payment each semester until hes out and they get married for they are engaged. I have put them on hold till APT comes out so Marsha can be in an apt while waiting on him to get back.  He has twins with her one girl and one boy.  He is also in college in the same dorm as his twin sister.  So this pair has next to no money between tuition and child support to spend on anything extra.

I do watch my sims to see what their personalities are like so I can use insim or paladin's items to fix their wants/life time/aspirations and hobby to match.  I use Inteen so the teens have to actually spend time as a teen before they can go to college and for knocking some up which happens.  That way some dreams of college may not happen.  I have even left the child with the teens parents while she was in school then resumed her duty as mom when she got back.  It was almost heartbreaking to watch them not want to leave grandma/pa Tongue

I come up with all kinds of things like this to make their lives more interesting.

For me every male that gets abducted gets pregnant.  If your sim has summon alien then it happens for me every time.  otherwise every other night if I have the sim using the telescope each night does it happen including my teens, though without Inteen your teens will not get knocked up.

I got him to live to the ripe old age of 117 before death came and got him for good.

I used to get this myself all the time, try deleting the two cache files in my documents/sims 2 folder.  Those files get corrupt a lot.  I use this when I go to load the sims and it seems to get stuck never making it to the load screen.  I found it also works when I get that error as well.  I won't promise it will help but it might since it worked for me.
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Date gifts on: 2008 July 20, 02:13:21
I tend to get more gifts on outings rather than dates, the stuff I have gotten is DJ Booths, Exp Telescope, Exp TVs, Spas and even got an Expresso Machine and food processor.  This is on both outings and dates.

Kyna, what I posted was no different than all the hacks people post here to help others work around their issues in their wish lists,
yet I do not see you posted to everyone that they missed the point.

Simply I did not miss a thing, I was trying to help JUST in case they were not aware or it, not everyone who plays the sims knows all the ways to fix the things on our wish lists.

I'd like it if not having a college subhood for a neighborhood took away the related wants/fears. There is no way my knowledge sim is going to college if one isn't installed, so they are forced to take a aspiration hit a good bit of the time. Plus, family-sim parents with a lot of teen children have their want slots filled with college-related stuff, which can't be fulfilled, meaning they are stuck with a low aspiration score until all of their children become adults.

----------------
Type in aspirationLevel #(1-9)  in the cheat menu and you can manually get it up so they do not stay low.  That might help since you do not want to do the college with them.  You can also lock the aspiration level so it doesnt go up or down by typing in the cheat menu  lockAspiration on/off.  Hope this helps you.

What I would like to see in the game:

1.  Aliens take females as well and knock them up.  Perhaps even the Alien staying and having a life with the sim should the sim be single or if married work his arse off to get said sim.

2.  Would like to see my Teens be young adults even if they do not go to college, lets face it you do not simply go to adult from Teen there is a young adult stage.

3.  The ability as an adult to go to college should they wish.  Some times we regret our choices we have made Tongue.

4. To see adults life span last longer and be more of age like the elder and do not turn old till they reach 60.  Then be more random when they die.  I do like the genie because you can do the live long life and I had a sim live to 110.

5.  Once a sim dies they remember the loved one this way my graveyards are used for more than just seeing ghosts.  I made a custom graveyard for my towns and all the dead are there once they die.  Including the Goth family and the family in the graveyard in downtown that has showed up and I do not know which expansion did that since I do not play Downtown to much and I know it was not there before pets that I remember.

6.  I would love to see EA fix it so when your sim is pregnant she can use any clothing she wishes rather than the awful maternity clothing they currently use.  I have never been able to get the hacks for this to work without conflicting with the other things like take my picture, play functions, give gift, ect being broken.

7.  Better Jobs and update of the old ones.  Also a better and updated majors in college to choice from.  I would also like to see you be able to work from home in some jobs or have the option to do it half the time rather than have to take a day off all the time.  One other thing, when you go on vacation you actually use the vacation time you have.

8.  Better and or more hobbies and even see cars break down and you be able to fix them via tinkering.

Now I saw in the start of this post where someone was talking about aging babies, you can do this in debug mode by spawning the tombstone of L & D to a sim in his/her home.  One of the options on the tombstone allows you to speed up any age.  It also allows you to get your sim pregnant and even speed up that to.

Gypsy showed up and rang the bell at the Crypt o Night Club  in downtown for me.  Thought it was weird and she wouldn't leave even after I told her to.

After installing free time I noticed new stores, places to go and a graveyard in the down town area.

I haven't run a business away from the sims home yet, only did Home Business which work well if you build the business and stock it before you call and make it a home business.  That way you are not losing money from the start.  I had to also make sure my home was the way I want it because after you make a home a business as well everything you purchase is an expense from the business and will make your profit go down.

I moved all the people out of pleasentville and moved them to the one that came with seasons and moved some of the people in strangetown to the one that came with Freetime.  I play only those two hoods now, I set each one up with all three colleges, and BV spots along with Downtown and Bluewater.  Then I took the time out to redo all the hoods the way I wanted.  Rich section with big expensive houses a shopping area low income ect.  It looks like a real town now and also renamed all houses for the streets they are on.  I did this with college, basic hood, Downtown and Blue water so no matter where they go it looks more real like.  I even made a custom cemetery and moved all the goths and the other graves from Downtown to it.  So when my sims die I send them there.  If sims want to see a ghost at night I go there or if they want to mourn their loved ones.  I saved all the commuinty stuff I did so I could pop it in each hood as needed without having to redo it time and time again. The sims live in the hood or Bluewater and Downtown depending on the sim and where I think they would like to live.

Goth Family is working on 4th generation, the longest family so far is 6th generation.  I do sent most kids to college even make some flunk out  Grin because not everyone is good at everything!  The biggest challenge for me is running a house with 8 people  ususally two adults and the rest kids without using Max motives.   Mind you I do not use Motherlode and only use kaching for each family to have 2k to purchase clothing only on start up because people have more than one outfit!.   I also play the challenges from TSR though I have not finsished many of them of late.  I do agree that some of them are not worth the time.

I use Monique's computer for my sims to be able to "get a loan" when they need money rather than use the cheats. This way they have to pay it back and that can get out of hand if they borrow to much.  I also use the bank for making sure those that can afford it give thier children a "college fund" and use it to sent them to Private school where it actually takes money out of the funds for them to go.  I also use it for emailing of friends.  So each house hold has one of Monique's and the rest are normal from the game so I do not lose the Freetime functions.  Also if your sims have amassed way to much money you can use it to give it away to charity as well.  I really like the funcition to purchase things online so I don't have to keep leaving the lot just to get a dress or a pair of pants!  Of course if you have maxed out your sewing to gold badge you can sew clothing so that does tend to help as well, but that is a long process!  A last thought about this item, if you run a business it helps if you use it to study stocking, cash registar, and sales before you open up the business.

I will have to try a business away from home and do the life time "own 5 top business" next to see if I can actually pull it off!

One question how do you set your college costs to a higher amount? And do the other things you talk about Darcee? While I am not new to the game, I am new to editing and creating things for it.

Yep I deleted the Cache files and it open up and let me play, Thank you guys so much because that is annoying big time!  It was bad enough when I played Sims 1 and couldn't get the expansions to run because of the cant read disk errors.  In fact the last 3 expansions on sims1 I have and never got to play.
42  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Game will not load on: 2008 June 13, 19:34:40
before I reinstall I do clean up of the system including the registery.  I will try the other way vs the launcher and see if that works. One question where do I find that exe file?
43  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Game will not load on: 2008 June 13, 18:26:10
Not sure where to put this, here is the issue once again after about 2 weeks the game just will not load up so I can play it.  Two weeks ago I had to uninstall and reinstall it just have it work again.  The launcher loads up I click play then nothing, no error no loading of game nothing.  The drive and computer are working lights blinking, the loading screen never comes up.

Its not the custom content, does this with or without it.  Its not the Ram to which I have 2 gigs.  It's not my system because I have a Gamer Computer with a high end graphics card 256 ram on it.  I have no lag in the game at all when it plays.  Once and while it will freeze for a sec when going to work or school and comming home.  Yes I turned off AVG before doing this just in case that was the issue.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so how did you fix it?  If there is other info you need let me know for I really do not want to have to uninstall yet again!
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FT and super fertility on: 2008 June 13, 17:47:09
I have found if you have FT and Family maxed to give more of a chance at twins you actually get them.  One family in FT the women got pregent then her husband got pregant by the alien both had a set of twins to go along with the daughter they already had.  Talk about a huge family and grandpa lived to be 110!

Mos to of the familys that have both parents with xtra change of twins get it or at least with my game.

As for the Nanny I used a hack from http://www.simwardrobe.com/ that keep the social worker from comming when children get hot/cold and found it keeps her off the lot permently.  I found that out when both parents went to work and the daughter got home from school and was alone, no message no social worker has ever showed up!  I even tested this by killing off both adults in another house where there were two toddlers.  No social worker ever.  I used the FT version.
