Try that. It's the full 1.24 patch, you might have missed something in between. If reinstalling becomes necessary, you'll have it on hand instead of having to wait for the launcher to download everything again.

And basically, I think it's too late anyway, I think we're fucked, the human race is on the way out. Global warming, the rising oceans and the lack of oil is going to be what does us in. I don't understand why everyone isn't in a panic about this.
I'm curious as to why no one brought this up, I think about this from time to time. Do you ever wonder what on earth humans can do to dig themselves out of this huge hole? The people that could, don't want to; the people who want to, can't. I certainly don't blame China and India for not wanting to stop developing, and anything the US, UK, and Australia do is pointless in the face of that, unless the things done is stop acting like they can control the weather and start acting like they are intelligent and innovative and start innovating already. The US sits on obscene amounts of natural gas, and if we had the cojones to get to it and use it, it wouldn't be nearly as expensive to switch to it as it would to switch to developing and therefore expensive technologies. We'll see what happens if the sun enters another Grand Minimum as some suspect.

It doesn't look to me as if the tree house slide has water attached.
Where I'm from, a lawn that lush would not be considered 'eco-friendly', but I know that's not true of everywhere or most Sim worlds. If someone has a dryer Sim world, xeriscaping that lot wouldn't be hard.

Weirdly, this same child keeps rolling the "learn to drive" wish even though he already can drive...
I see that a lot on my game. Every Generations Interactions, such as "learn to drive" always come back after the wish is granted. They forget that they have already moved in with their spouses and roll wishes to do it again. Not surprised they'd want to learn to drive all over again. I haven't run into any idiotic wishes that are impossible to fulfill with just the patch this time around, thankfully. Before I installed LN, they frequently wished for hot tubs.

If F10 doesn't turn the green FPS numbers on or off while the game is loading or a save is loading, then you are doing something wrong. It does work just fine with Medieval, so long as you have both files from this thread in the right folder. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out where they need to be to run The Sims Medieval. If it is, perhaps a charred video card is for the best.

The tense shift witch presented needs correcting: You'll would say UFO (unknown unidentified flying object), and we would say OVNI (objet volant non identifié = object flying not identified).
Indeed, even English speakers don't always agree. Yes , that's not very helpful but at least things aren't too boring that way! Most native English writers agree about the exclamation point, regardless of their native land. The comma, maybe not so much. ETA: And I would need to correct my code.

The menu to buy or consign didn't even show up. With Twallan's ErrorTrap installed, it reset my Sim and sent him back home. Without it, nothing at all came up and it looked a little like a jump bug.
I removed the XML that referred to consignment and after that, the consignment register worked as normal.

I also got my YA Female Sims in trouble with the law (PedoBear) when she ask a Teen Female her sign and relationship status under that Special Dialogue.
Try For Baby is also under Family-Oriented. I don't think the fact that an interaction is considered Family-Oriented precludes it from being romantic. Anach, the All_Buyable_1.22 was busting the consignment store this time. I took out everything related to consignment and it looks like it works so far (didn't try a vacation to see for absolute certain). Nice having it all rolled into one, including death flowers.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is it just me or autonomous "Dig through" on junk pile produces nothing?

Just checked--sent a Sim to the junkyard, sped through the interaction when he started digging autonomously, got a notification he had 15 scrap. I looked in his inventory and he did have 15 scrap. I watched his inventory as he did this a second time, and scrap was added until he had 31 and the pop-up declared he had collected an additional 16. This wasn't a brand new game, but I had pulled my mods out to test some things, so no mods affected it.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Sims 2 lag
|
on: 2011 February 17, 21:06:12
|
I have recently upgraded my video card from a Radeon X1300 with 512MB to a Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB in an effort to collectively get my games to run better. Most of them do, and beautifully, but Sims 2 is not doing as well as I had hoped. Better, but it still lags. As I do have an AMD 64 X2 dual core (2.60 GHz) and XP, many moons ago I had tried steps similar to those in this topic http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,7748.0.html with some success. The issue is that frequently the game will slow to a crawl, moving at 2 or 3 FPS for several minutes, and then for no particular reason begin working reasonably again. Sometimes the slowdown appears to have a cause--snowfall. I don't notice rainfall slowing the game overmuch. Occasionally it happens when many Sims are sleeping at the same time and the timer automatically shifts to 3x speed. I shut my extra processes down when I play so the game has as much of my computer's resources as I can give it. It has 2.5 GB RAM and a 4 GB pagefile. I don't have great gobs of custom content, mostly mods and hacks, though I've got some skins, hairs, etc. No issue with it loading anyhow, it only takes a minute or so. I have all EPs except M&G plus a few SPs. Question is, what else might I be able to do to speed it up? What might cause those slowdowns?

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: MIA Unsavory Charlatans
|

Can't say it looks related to what's happening with my game, rufio. I do have one file that ends with .1.package--it's for a stray pet, and it isn't unlinked. It's not duplicated either as far as I can tell. It does pre-date FT.
I figure my game will make new charlatans when they are needed, though I certainly would like to know what nuked them in the first place. I looked around a bit more, and saw a thread about charlatans specifically that apparently the game sometimes burninates some of them on its own...suppose that could have happened. Would it be a good idea to use the lot debugger/Deleted 2 to delete them, or rather just leave them as they are?

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / MIA Unsavory Charlatans
|
on: 2011 January 06, 09:37:51
|
I've got a pretty good idea what I'm going to need to do about this, but I am curious to find out if there might be a cause.
I had noticed for a while that there were no unsavory charlatans hanging around the vacation 'hoods. They were there when I'd first started playing BV, and as I recall, I'd installed the Director's Cut before that and then updated it for BV, so I did have Awesomeware. A good bit of non-Awesome as well. Anyhow, point is, I believe I had nounlinkondelete at the time I saw charlatans in my game.
I just looked through SimPE and found out that all three of my charlatans are both unlinked and have no character data. I understand this is Bad. I'd never done anything unbecoming with them AFAIK, just normal game interactions. No idea when they went MIA either, just that they hadn't shown up for a few vacations. I very recently installed FT and had some issues for a few hours, though I believe now things are in order.
Might this be a clear sign of the coming apocalypse? Could other, older missing character data have caused it? These three Sims are the first that anything like this has happened to--I know where the other unlinked Sims came from.
ETA: Some further investigation indicates whatever happened to them happened very recently, as my pre-FT backup contains them intact. I've got more options now, though I am very curious about whether or not this might be something fundamental to my 'hood. Hardly any point in going back to it if they, or some other Sims, are going to disappear on me no matter what I do.
