1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Buggered it up. on: 2008 November 05, 22:22:57
Sorry, ok.

My Sim did live alone. She was at the store, whilst I stocked it.

I played the other household, and teleported her in. She was pissing me off by that point, so I, um, smote her down. She wouldn't die. I stuck her in fire, she wouldn't die. I had her join the family, THEN she died, passing on her deeds to the florist to the newgirl.

Now, the problem is, the girl that I moved her in with, has now disappeared too.........she's showing at the florist, but ISN'T at the florist.
I always put a regular phone at a business lot.
What is the Magic wand, please?
I can't bulldoze - it won't let me.......keeps telling me the lot is occupied, or some such other thing.
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Food Eats You, but not children, it seems... on: 2008 November 05, 20:21:20
I may be being stupid here, but this is how I feed the kids. Before the kids are born/when they are toddlers, I make a fair few amount of group meals and just stock them in the fridge as leftovers. Kids can then help themselves. Is that any use to you?
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Buggered it up. on: 2008 November 05, 20:16:40
I was making a community lot (a florists)

All stocked, owner on board ready to start crafting the flowers.

I need to send her home to sleep. Well, phone booth wasn't clickable, and the hand phone wasn't clickable. No options for either, so I couldn't get her to leave.
I forced an error using the lot debugger, and (this part just kills me) hit delete, isntead of reset.

Now, I have an invisible sim......she is nowhere to be found. I can't delete either the business, or her home, because I've tried that, and the business is totally unusable.

I tried rebooting with no CC, as per the norm, and my flower shopped looked strange, but still no change.

Any ideas?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL Patch issued at EA website on: 2008 October 02, 14:17:10
And was the problem in a lot you created yourself?

Not for me Inge. The only one I've played with so far, is the Maxis trailer park.
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops, did I break it? on: 2008 September 25, 00:24:48
Well, I have to say, kudos to you if that's you on that page. Your English is better than many English folks!
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops, did I break it? on: 2008 September 24, 16:04:04
Faceless as forums are, I'm put at a disadvantage here, as I usually get by on looks alone IRL.

Are you ruddy gawjus, or something?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL -- Pets not installed... but wants me to adopt! on: 2008 September 15, 09:33:38
Aaaah, so that's why my parrots all die within three or four days! I haven't played one for a while, due to this, and being the naive little thing I was when pets came out, it didn't occur to me that it was a bug.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 14, 10:09:53
Well that's odd. I think you may have a hack conflict going on because when I click my kids they get the option to "walk to school". Have you tried taking your hacks out and making sure everything is updated?

Tasha, I only have the directors cut and ACR. I'll try taking out ACR and see if that helps. It's unlikely to be the DC. They are all updated - I binned my DL folder totally when I installed AL, and have only put in up to date hacks since then.

I apologise if there area any typos etc in my posts today - I have an eye infection and things are a little on the blurry side  Wink
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 13, 23:57:47
No. I tried doing that. He is only a child, and by the time he's supposed to go to school, his mum has already gone to work, and so can't take him.
I may be missing something, but if I click on the 'walk' sign, with him selected, there are no options, and by clicking on him, there is no option to walk to school.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 13, 21:42:31
Thats great Tashafaun. Thanks. It'll stop my adopted lad getting hauled back by social services until the issue with the schoolbus is fixed!
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 13, 20:43:30
Zazazu, was it you that was talking about homeschooling one of your sim kids? How do you do that please?

Or is this going to be a bunny/pancake moment  Cheesy
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 13, 14:21:56
Like:

The apartment option in itself. I'm enjoying playing with that.
The idea of the witches. They are quite fun. I love the broomsticks!
Kids playgrounds. I've been wanting something like this for a while.
Trailer building accessories included! Yay!

Dislike:

Not being able to place objects outside. I have a sim in a trailer and can't place the telescope.
The no schoolbus thing. I can't seem to make him walk to school either, as his adoptive mum is at work by that point. Social worker will no doubt be taking him back soon. I can't see him getting into private school, as they live in a trailer and mum is only a low level job. By the time you take rent out, and nanny fees (which are incidentally all day, as when tracking schedule, she doesn't take into account school hours either?), you are left with nothing much to decorate up the trailer.
I bought some clothes for the lad when he was adopted - brought them back to the trailer, which has two walk in closets in there, and it gave the message 'great, one of your sims has bought clothes, now they need a dresser to put them in?)

Ok thanks, Fatkitty. Looks like the 50/50 dance with my custom content (again  Roll Eyes )
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 10, 21:36:34
A new issue (I think, since search turned nothing up on here)

Has anyone managed to successfully adopt whilst living in an apartment?

It said your new addition will arrive at 10am in the morning. Great. Gave me the choice of what age child to have, great, then, nothing happened? No car arrived. Zilch. Nada.

Seriously unlikely to be tight pants - I only have Pes's hacks. I do have the scriptorium if that would make a difference? I'm non-awesome, so I don't know if that would affect anything?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Werewolf glitch? on: 2008 September 09, 13:05:15
I was going to suggest what TashaFaun said, but also, is it past (I think it's 7 or 8pm?) I dont' think they change before nightfall, do they?

It's a while since I played with a werewolf, but maybe worth mentioning  Smiley
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you organize your CC? on: 2008 September 04, 09:21:23
I used to just have a downloads folder and that was it. I had a seperate folder for hacks within there, but I used to download all sorts of stuff and just mass extract them to the downloads folder.
I have a bad memory, and so hacks were finding their way into the downloads folder with everything else, and I had conflicts going on - plus because they weren't in the hacks folder, I forgot they were there at all, and didn't get the updates as required.
I've now got AL, and I binned my downloads folder completely.
I had so much stuff in there that I didn't want, from downloaded lots, and sims, etc.
I am not downloading either of these from now on, and when I have downloaded something (since finding PMDB and here, I've become a bit of a downloads snob) I immediately place it in a subfolder, in it's own folder with a picture for ease of deletion, should it not be up to par.
Before I joined the community, I would use the facility in game for deleting stuff, which I didn't realise could mess your game up.

So now, I have downloads, and within that Bodyshop with subfolders of male/female hair. Within those, further subfolders depending on where they came from, and within that, a subfolder containing that particular type of hair and a picture.
Further subfolders within the bodyshop one are, Make up - eyes/blush/lipstick/eyeliner etc.
I have a similar set up for clothing, and when I put objects back in, will do the same there, too.

I also have a seperate folder for default replacements (due to me downloading and installing other defaults  Roll Eyes )

It pays to be organised. It really does.

Simbliss, if you've recently updated to AL, it might be worth you doing as I've just done. Mine was a mess and caused all sorts of borkage. It's virtually impossible to put them all into folders when it's such a tangled mess, and a big job. Far better to just start from scratch again.

At the risk of looking like a geek, they pinched tabula rasa off a Buffy episode, in which Willow removes all of her friends memories. Spork me now. I'm a Buffy fan. Say, does this make it offensive to Wiccans? Willow was a wiccan, right?
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Anyone else STILL can't catch Socialus Butterfly? on: 2008 August 18, 17:16:29
Do you actually get a reward for completing the collection?

I got sick of being chased by bees, and gave up.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: *stomps on Brandi Broke's uterus* on: 2008 August 16, 21:16:33
Zazazu, my quads is set at 3%. Yet still, they come  Cheesy

I use ACR these days because I used to micro manage my sims. I got bored, and wanted something to give it all a little more oomph, and it gives them something else to do besides make lobster thermidor. I let them do as they please these days, resulting in many lulz.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: *stomps on Brandi Broke's uterus* on: 2008 August 16, 17:11:06
I feel your pain.

I have a sim in my hood that married general Buzz.

They have 10 children, of varying ages. I have a hack in place (I think it's part of ACR) that lets you change the odds for multiples, up to quadruplets.
Well, they went and had quads, didn't they.

Not ONE of these children were tried for by my direction. Not one. Randy buggers. Oh, and General buzz had an alien child, too.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: You could meet Pescado in a dark alley with a suitcase full of cash, or... on: 2008 August 07, 17:32:17
I think the fees on that are positively murderous when transferring small sums.

Hmmm. The fees on Paypal aren't much better.

I'm thinking you guys are mainly in the US. This could cause a problem for UK contributors.
How about a PO box for US, and Paypal for overseas?
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Slap Dance: I Are Fail on: 2008 August 04, 14:30:31
I will take that advice, thanks Mirelly. I have a few hours spare tonight, so my downloads folder shall have an overhaul. It's awfully messy in there  Wink

That is VERY handy to know (as I usually have big families)

Thank you  Grin

Love it!

Quick question - does using the crib dividers stop one screaming brat from waking the other up? I usually put them in seperate rooms for this reason, but much better if this works instead!
