1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2012 November 30, 02:56:21
I'm having a pretty big problem with the in-game clock.  Basically, the game will "freeze" in that the game clock, sims, and cars stop moving and the game stops responding to mouse input. However, other animations continue as normal such as Z's over a sleeping sim, rain, or the plumbob rotating over a sim's head, as well as ambient sounds and music.  The clock, sims, etc will then suddenly progress again and any mouse input will get a response after a few seconds.  It'll then run for 5-10 sim minutes, and then the same thing happens again and again in a cycle.

I saved while the game was acting this way and when I remove awesome mod and reboot, the problem disappears.  However, when I put the mod back in, the problem reappears.  Also, the game experiences these freezes at exactly the same sim time on each reload.

I have a few other mods installed but the same thing happened whether the other mods were present or not.  Also, if I load an older autosave, the game seems to be acting normally (I didn't play to the point in time where the problem starts occurring though).  I have all XPs and SPs installed except Showtime and KP, so I have the patch that came with seasons, and I'm using the 11/19/12 4:10 version of Awesomemod.

Here's a save file where you can observe this:

This is a great mod, I've always had this very same idea because the way community lots are supposed to work is annoying.  I have one suggestion though; a lot of the time I forget about the sim who left and I don't notice when they get home.  Would it be possible to add a dialogue or something that says "<sim> has arrived home" to notify you when they get home?

yea, my sims have also gotten colder while in a hot tub outside in the winter.  I think it depends on the outside temperature, because another time I had them use the hot tub outside during the winter and they did get hot.  Both of these examples happened before installing this mod.

I'm happy to report that the synctimer is working just fine with Pets.  I didn't bother deleting it from my downloads before installing, and the settings were exactly where I expected them to be when I loaded the game with CC enabled.

Nope, I'm having the uninstalling problem too, but I have to reinstall it every time I play :\

I'm having an annoying jump bug too;  it happens when my pets try to sit/relax on an object or a dog tries to sit on the floor :\ I tried disabling all of my hacks, but that didn't solve anything Huh  I haven't tried disabling custom objects, but I never thought nonhacks could cause this problem.  I'm going to try playing again with my downloads folder on the desktop.

Do I need to delete the "harderjobs-fixes" package, or should they both be in my downloads folder?

I havent seen any problems with graphics, lagginess, etc.  I have an ATI radeon x1300 256mb video, 4x AGP and 512mb ram, in case anyone is interested..

I agree, this stuff pack sucks ass.  There's barely anything new in this pack.  Mostly just decorative items and those really bad dining and bedroom sets.  The new walls and floors are okay.  Simply put, just browse a few download sites for an hour and you'll find way more stuff and of better quality.  I suggest waiting until its in the bargain bin or buying it used.  Personally, I dont think stuff packs are worth more than $5 or $10.  I bought this game with 3 friends, so we paid $5 each since we knew this pack wouldnt be worth $20 >.>

I'm using a nocd crack and havent had any problems like build mode being disabled thus far.

I've always played with one family at a time.  This means I'd have to start playing multiple families at once before I see limited space in higher positions, correct?  Is there any kind of special notification when a sim can't advance due to limited space?  And exactly how many positions are available for each level?
