Check your CC.  Custom bay windows could be the culprit.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apocalypse! How many are left? on: 2009 July 07, 23:14:24
Been playing The Sims since 1999.  Not impressed at all with Sims3.  I have already deleted the game from my computer.
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Weird flickering when building. on: 2009 January 09, 01:14:39
I have the ATI HD 4800, and I'm also having this problem.  Thanx for the help.  It's annoying as hell.
4  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Speed up, Speed up, SPEED UP FFS!!!!11!ONE! on: 2008 September 22, 08:17:40
Apartments.  Reported the problem.  According to Squinge, it's not the hack that's causing the lag.
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Speed up, Speed up, SPEED UP FFS!!!!11!ONE! on: 2008 September 22, 07:34:07
I'm having the same trouble with the updated PregnantSimsWearAnyOutfitEP8.  Took the hack out, game works fine.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Graphics Card opinions on: 2008 August 13, 01:18:33
Just out of curiosity, I've got a 2 GHz ( dual core)  and 2 GB of ram .  I'm finding a lot a lag since Freetime.  Should I invest in a larger processor or boost up my ram.... or do both?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Party Invitations on: 2008 April 18, 14:25:56
I have a small dilemna.  Prior to and including BV, my little Sims could invite 8 people to a party.  Since the installation of FT, they are down to six, and with Kitchen & Baths, they are now down to 5 people.  But, they are allowed to bring 8 people on vacation with them. Huh  I'm a tad confused.  Why would it vary?  Should it not be completely uniformed accross the board?
My specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon 64*2 dual core processor
Memory 2046 MB
Page File: 338MB used, 3600 Available
AtI Radeon X1600/X1650 Series
Windows XP
Thanking anybody, and everybody in advance for their imput
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: System 32 Configuration? on: 2007 November 01, 04:07:16
OK! Must remember not to press R. Thankyou.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: System 32 Configuration? on: 2007 November 01, 03:01:30
Thanks for responding.  Periodically my whole system shuts down, after playing BV.  Either the game freezes or the computer restarts.
    1.  Upon restarting, the computer informs me that it has a boot failure and to reboot with the cd.
    2.  I put in the cd, to restart windows.  A. sometimes windows will start on its own.
                                                            B. most of the time it tells me that the system 32 configuration is corrupted, and to press R for repair.
                                                            C. If I shut it down for about half an hour, then restart it , it works fine. ( for a while)
My computer started to act up when I accidently put an old dowloaded lot on a beach lot.  I'm bad.  Deleted the lot.
I have uninstalled BV, and reinstalled twice.  Should I uninstall everything including the registry files.?
However, I'm a retired forensic accountant, and I know little if anything about computers.   Appreciate your imput.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / System 32 Configuration? on: 2007 October 31, 21:10:53
You know, this is the only place that I can find decent and direct answers to any type of computer ( hardware or software) problems.  Unfortunatley, I'm back again, with another ( probably stupid) question.
What is exactly a system 32 configuration?
Can it be corrupted by playing custom content with Sims 2?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV: Anybody Updating These Abandoned Mods? on: 2007 September 14, 22:48:06
I've tried different variables on Squinge's hacks.  Adult shoppers works well.  The only one that I seem to have difficulty with is the children sleepover package. The wants to take a picture are there, but the query isn't , neither is the pose.
Edit:  Alwayswearcasualtowork package also works well.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Video Card Controller???? on: 2007 August 02, 01:25:50
Thank you so much!!  I'll speak to him tomorrow.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Video Card Controller???? on: 2007 August 02, 00:54:50
That's crossed my mind

Not a bad idea!

14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Video Card Controller???? on: 2007 August 01, 23:56:34
Appreciate the empathy!  My system was built by a friend, who's a tech.  Well known in the city.  He can't believe what's happening neither.  He replaced my hard drive and put in a new video card ( no charge).  I've had drivers literally disappear as well.  I've had 11 full clean re-installs since last June.  He's built others, and I know nobody else has had the problems that I've had.  I'm at my wit's end.  I'm going to ask something stupid, please bear with me..... Could custom content cause any kind of problems with the computer, let alone Sims 2?  I have a ton of downloads.  Thankyou in advance for responding.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Video Card Controller???? on: 2007 August 01, 21:41:56
Thank you both for replying so quickly.  My computer is fairly new.  It's less than a year old, but I must be jinxed or something, because I've had nothing but trouble with it.  First, my hard drive caved in and today, I found out that my video card went.  It's problems, after problems, after problems......Can a video card go bad ( if you will) within a year? I'm so lost.  I have:
AMD Athlon (tm) 64*2
Duel core processor
3800 +2.01 GHZ
2 GB Ram
and ATI Radeon Graphics Card X1600 Series
XP Home
Many thanks for your time and help
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Video Card Controller???? on: 2007 July 31, 21:49:58
Is there an animal called a video card control center?  Or a video card controller?  And, if there is, what does it do? Better yet, what is it???  Appreciate any response....condescending or otherwise.
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Computer Hell!! on: 2007 February 04, 01:45:36
My computer was home-grown if you will. My tech made it on the side. Mind you, everytime it crashed, I brought it to where he works and he checked it there.  I don't think I'll update any drivers for a while, and see what happens.  Witch, when you mentioned your laptop, a little light came on! Before my computer initially crashed, I tried to update my Logitech mouse and keyboard.  Hopefully, the computer will behave until I can get thoroughly checked elsewhere.Again, thanks for helping me out.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Computer Hell!! on: 2007 February 04, 01:08:46
Thanks Vren.  Just out curiosity, would updating drivers, let say for the keyboard and mouse cause these type of crashes?
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Computer Hell!! on: 2007 February 04, 00:39:01
I don't know what the hell I'm going to do.  He says its working fine.  I just can't afford to bring it to another tech right now, haven't any more money to spare.  Needless to say, the Sims is secondary.  Unfortunately, playing the Sims is generally the only time I really relax.  Silly, I know.  Could the mods or downloads cause Window's to crash?  Many thanks, anyway.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Computer Hell!! on: 2007 February 03, 21:14:28
My tech has been working on it.  He's checked the hardware extensively, and everything is working fine, at least till I bring it home.  The computer seems O.K. for approx. 4-5 days, then starts acting up.
All I've installed is Sims2 & all ep's and the two stuff packs, the patches, the Sims2 Pack Clean Installer, and AVG.  Appreciate your imput.
It crashes before I can imput my work programs.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Computer Hell!! on: 2007 February 03, 19:34:41
Thanks for responding.  No, I'm not running a RAID array.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Computer Hell!! on: 2007 February 03, 17:25:46
A. I hope that I'm posting in the right area.
B. I've had so much trouble with my new computer these past 2 months.  I've had 5 (yes...5) clean reinstalls, because some software is screwing around with windows.  Somehow some of my drivers get corrupted, then I lose registry files and windows disapear completely.  That's it in a nutshell.  I'm desperate!! ( and close to tears)
C. My system is:  AMD Athlon 64x2Dual
                        Core Processor 3800+
                         2.01 GHZ 2.00GB Ram
                         Physical Address Extension
I also have 224 GB of free space.
D. I realize that I'm grasping, but could my Pets be corrupted? (even though it says that it's been successfully installed)
(aren't they all stamped, so to speak, from one master disc?
E. Another stupid question. Could global hacks, or any kind of download cause any kind of problems with registry files.  I know that I'm a moron, but I'm at my wit's end.

Thanx in advance!

Thanks, Jordi.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Residential lot to Community lot? on: 2006 December 05, 19:27:04
Stupid question, I'm sure, try not to laugh.  Anyway, I recently downloaded a residential lot and thought it would be a great community outlet.  How ( in game) do you change a residential lot into a community based lot? Appreciate any imput.  Thanx in advance.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Refrigerator restocking bug on: 2006 November 23, 18:14:00
You're right, it first appeared with OFB.  I did a thorough search on Maty, a long time ago, regarding this particular little problem, but to no avail.  As far as I know, EA never even addressed it properly.  I could be wrong in both counts, though.  Not much help, but I do empathize.
