It's so annoyingly popular among sims that refuse to buy it. I think the only one in my game is at Oresha Family Dining. When there's an outing there, I usually distract most of the sims away from it with an orgy in the photo booth. But there's still usually one sim standing there saying "Doesn't anyone want to play Myshuno?" (Or playing with themself.)

I just want plastic fish, that never die!
I'll second that. No feed, no restock, no clean, re-clean, make puddle, mop up, clean again, make new puddle... etc.  Just a decoratation the sims can watch if really bored.

Short answer: yes.

Hmmmm...

It's been reported that some Maxoid said, we'll get a pets expansion when pigs fly. We have flying pig balloon neighborhood decorations which have been reported to be linked to the presence of trained "pet bricks.'

Maybe OFB IS the pets expansion! That should make everyone happy. The pet lovers get pets (maybe not with all the options they'd like) and the rest of us don't have to mess with them.  Grin

(Okay, too much wishful thinking.)

Strangely, I found the elevator bell to be somewhat subdued. Given the way Maxis usually does such things I was really cringing the first time I took a sim to a lot with an elevator. I figured the sound of the bell would be enough to force me to delete the elevator, but I found it quite unobtrusive.

(I must be a bit of a masocist. I just take for granted that many things about The Sims 2 will just be annoying.)

More choices would be nice, but given the way Sims 2 works it would most likely just be more bad choices. Now (sheer fantasy time, here) if we could advertise for the position we needed to fill. Cashier, show me sims with register badges; Cook, show me sims with high cooking skill, etc. That would be nice. (Probably not possible, but I like to dream.)

I got the same thing Nec and Gali did. I PMed Squinge at MTS2 to let him know.

Update: Squinge just added another coat of polish, so we can try beta-testing this again.

What happens if you have the owner stop charging before he leaves the lot? Can your other sims then visit for free? I haven't experimented with this.
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Well so much for the elevators! on: 2006 March 17, 19:00:53
The elevators have worked quite well for me so far. I haven't used them much, but they don't seem entirely useless.

I put one in Cold Issue Clothing to access the pointless balcony. I put a dresser up there (with a community enabled dresser hack) so my sims could change into their new outfits without having to go home. It's not really a popular part of the store, so there haven't been any traffic jams and sims seem to get there as quickly as they would with stairs, if not a little quicker.

The other is a community lot I built some time back being silly. I put a floating room on what would be the fourth level with four flights of  smoke and glass stairs leading up to it supported by nothing. I put that damn bubble blower sims seem ridiculously attracted to up there just to watch them trudge up and down all those stairs. (and they did) I decided to see how an elevator worked there, so I took out the stairs and put an elevator in. It works fine and cut out the trudging. (but that was getting old, anyway)

It seems elevators have their place, but they aren't necessarily a good replacement for stairs in most cases.

How hard would it be to change the "Employee" schedule if the "Employee" is a teen to 3 PM to 8 PM (and they only get paid for 5 hours instead of Cool? I'm sure it's pretty difficult as a hack at this point, but it seems it wouldn't be all that complicated for Maxis. That would make "Employee" a very viable teen job.
