I adopted a child and he had the romantic woohoo the town aspiration. I'm almost certain kid aspirations are mediocre. Too bad the little guy can't do anything about it right now. LOL

--I always have flirty children. At this point, I think it's a feature.

I started getting momentary freezes every so often and went to look it up thinking maybe it was the autosave. Apparently, it's playing the game in online mode on Origin (so you arred guys will probably not notice it)

http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/12684965#Comment_12684965

It set it to offline mode and sure enough they went away.

Theoretically there's no reason the game should be phoning home constantly unless you are browsing the gallery. There's really no built in connectivity features in the game itself outside of the gallery to browse for downloads.

It phones home every few minutes to give you hundreds of notification spam about what other people are uploading and favoriting. It does it even if you turn off notifications. So playing in Offline mode is recommended and only go online for putzing around in the gallery, then turn it off again. Those stutters are annoying.

I hate how you get a popup every time you use the camera in live mode, asking you if you want to make it a memory.

My loner doesn't get a negative moodlet from low social, but it still decays.

You can turn off the memory popup in the gameplay options.

My loner sim loves chatting with everyone. I get a tooltip saying otherwise, but if I leave her alone for a second, she's off to chat in a large group.

Turn off tutorials: (If the game is listed in Origin)

• Step 1: First you have to open the Origin Client.
• Step 2: Then Right-Click on the The Sims 4 game's box art cover.
• Step 3: Next you must select the "View Game Properties" options, followed by clicking on the "Game Properties" to open a popup box.
• Step 4: In the text box below the "Command Line Argument" you can type a code to turn off the tutorial. Copy and past the following code into that text box: --no_tutorial
• Step 5: And finally, click on the "Apply" button to save the change and turn off the tutorial right away.

I tried to live with them, but they just kept coming and were totally irrelevant to what I was actually doing. ---Game: Hey, we noticed you rotated the camera 180 degrees so here is a tutorial about checking friends in the relationship panel.

If any of you are rotational players, you might run into issues. I changed households during gameplay for the first time and ran into several problems. The first was that switching back to the house that you switched from caused both occupants to be grayed out even though they were in the house doing things on their own. The second major one being that a whole household disappeared from the neighborhood. Their house is still listed as occupied, but they are not inside and going to manage households shows a blank screen for them. --I didn't try switching from a neutral point like exiting and then playing a different family. But seeing as the game was advertised as being easily able to switch families, one would think it would actually work.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Sims 2 Vs. The Sims 3 on: 2012 February 02, 22:10:17
The crashing happens on x64 machines with lots of RAM. It's easily solved by making an exception for the game in the DEP. I play on a laptop and haven't had any problem with TS3. Though TS2 has never crashed, it does make my fan run constantly. And the differences are subjective. I don't like TS3 very much. I prefer the quirkiness of TS2, but the lack of open neighborhood sucks. I tend to switch back and forth often.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting Businesses Owned by Other Sims on: 2012 February 01, 05:23:31
Every store with craftables are affected. They still don't work if I delete the crafting stations. The problem appears to be the craftable items and not the stations. I do not know what the deal is. BFBVFS in the near future?

Also, this is to do with BYU. A sim had the unfortunate timing of having offspring in the bathroom. She had twins. One twin was visible, but BYU made her take a shower and then kicked her out. The other baby was in the panel, but it was not actually on the lot. Moving that family out and back in made the baby appear.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting Businesses Owned by Other Sims on: 2012 January 28, 03:11:26
Yes, customers are lining up, stomping feet, and dropping bags. This only happens on lots with craftable items. I have a bookstore that plays fine when visiting with other families. The sales people don't do anything, but the cashier works fine.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Visiting Businesses Owned by Other Sims on: 2012 January 27, 23:39:23
I just finished setting up my town. I wanted to have a dynamic town and force my lazy sims to leave their lots once in a while. So I created a bunch of townsfolk that I am playing in succession, but I'm having a problem with some of the stores. Lots that sell items that were made with the crafting stations don't autonomously sell things when visiting with a different household (the store works fine when I play the lot with the owners). I can visit the store, add items to my shopping bag, but I can't ring up at the register. Even using BUY controller to assign a cashier does nothing. The items are in stock and the owners has more than an abundance in their inventories. One store (toy store) had the workers performing their tasks, but the cashier never rang up any customers. She just stood there, no jump or anything and testingcheats didn't pop an error. Other stores where there are no craftable items work fine and all of the workers do their various assigned tasks. Any idea what the problem might be?

I was thinking it might be an awesome fix that is preventing me from being "cheaty" and not making my own crafts, but I've gone through my mods folder a few times and researched the business related stuff and don't see anything that prevents that.

Thank for the tip. It must be my ATI card because I already tried running the game with awesomemod installed and I got nothing. I will give it a shot tomorrow and update.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Help Getting This Game to Run On Ubuntu on: 2011 September 27, 16:21:55
I'm new to Ubuntu in general, but have never even attempted to install a game on it before. I have followed the instructions and whatnot, but the game will not run. I have attempted to install several no cd cracks, but none of them produce anything, but an error log. If you can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Error Log Included
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2011 June 08, 17:28:11
I have a quick question. I know people have made a few items that can be placed using the in-game world editor, a few of which are the rabbitholes that came with Ambitions. Does anyone have any idea or know if anyone ever made the rest of the rabbitholes available in the world editor? They can be used without having to be on a lot and I am so, so lazy that I'd just like to place them strategically around town.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Neighborhood, No Mail on: 2010 December 29, 13:32:51
As far as I know, the mailman doesn't show up to deliver any packages, they just appear in the box. I also only get the initial "you just moved in" bills and then none after that forever. Everything/character in the game is new and they definitely do not have any lifetime rewards in their pockets. I really hate not having the darn bills.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / New Neighborhood, No Mail on: 2010 December 28, 17:05:32
I'm having a small issue as of late. I just reinstalled my game earlier this month and have started playing 2 custom hoods. What I notice with each is that the mail person shows up the first time, but never again. He doesn't come to pick up the bills and the sims never have any options on the mailbox again. If I don't pay the bills, I have the option that says there are bills that are overdue, pay now. Also, if things like packages or books get delivered I will have access to get it out of the mailbox. That's about it. Any ideas about what is going on? My game is strictly awesome and a tiny amount of store CC and build mode items.
15  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Random Crash to Desktop on: 2010 December 15, 16:07:25
After patching, this shit is happening to me again...I even reinstalled the whole damn game and I'm still getting the random crashes. I'm so fed up with this f-ing game.
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: House Hoppers on: 2010 June 24, 12:24:16
Tell me what to do to fix this rubbish happening in game. I have had several families created and moved into the hood over the past sim week. I know AM is working and turned on. Are there any settings in the Game options that I should be wary of? I turned off Story Mode, turned it on...it doesn't change anything other than the sims stand around like zombies.

I posted a copy of my AM config file. Maybe you can check and see if I should set something or turn something else off.
17  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: House Hoppers on: 2010 June 24, 01:23:13
I just had a new sim created for breeding even though there are more than enough singles in the hood. She was hideous, too!
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: House Hoppers on: 2010 June 23, 17:22:36
I am playing a custom hood, as well. There are approximately 35 houses and at least half have more than 1 crib and several single beds. Every house that had someone living inside had enough beds and cribs to begin with.

---Anyway. Here is what I found to possibly be the issue. While I had the dialogs coming up to tell me what is going on, I noticed an abundance of Romantic happenings going on. It appears that everyone, even those in relationships/married are intersexing all over the place. I haven't had any babies out of it, only 1 actual marriage and 1 pollination. From what I see, when 2 sims that are married trigger something romantic with someone else, they will be the ones to move out of the house. The only problem is, they don't move out to be with their new love, but just relocate the whole family.

I would also like to note that I have no other game changing mods in my game. The only other mods I have are the easel that can be placed in an inventory and a book that acts like a bookcase, both from MTS.
19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: House Hoppers on: 2010 June 23, 14:13:33
Awesome Story is definitely enabled. I only noticed this happening because I had just followed the grown up daughter sim out of the house. She moved in right across the street and at night, about 3 sim days later, her family moved out of their expensive house into a tiny house. Then as I began watching, someone was moving out every single night. In my game it is not happening in 2's, just random. I don't have inform on story change enabled so there are no dialogs, but there are no new marriages or babies around the neighborhood because I checked every single lot to see who lives where. The only other thing I noticed is that a few new families have moved into the town.

The only reason I know this is an AM issue is because I was playing a vanilla game while I was waiting for AM to get out of testing. I didn't have this problem until I installed AM. Tell me what to do to help troubleshoot and I got it covered.

Edit: I just enabled the inform on story changes setting. I will report back with my findings.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / House Hoppers on: 2010 June 22, 14:43:29
I just installed the Ambitions AM and this is something that is happening in my game that is pretty annoying. Everyone in the neighborhood moves into a new house at night. They are playing musical houses and I can't find where they go unless I look at each house. I had this problem with a previous/pre-ambitions AM, but it was not happening with the vanilla game I had been playing before AM was updated. Now, it is back. Is there any way to get the sims to stop moving around so much? I checked the config and I don't see any setting that has to do with them moving out of their assigned houses. Is it a requirement that I mark them as sacred? I never really took too much of an interest in that because I like for them to move on with their lives without me, just not constantly move out of their house. There are more than enough beds in the houses that they are moving out of and occasionally, they move into houses without enough beds.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sim AI inconsistent on: 2010 June 21, 12:15:51
But at least the nannies were funny to watch. They cooked, but never ate it and peed at least once during their shift. Plus they cleaned the damn house.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 04, 12:58:04
Naples, there is really no need to be a smartass. You just make yourself look dumb.

Here are my findings on the Design profession:

-You have to continually skill at painting and use the drafting table to research architectural design. If you aren't advancing in that stuff, chances are, you ran out of jobs for that level.
-If you can't turn in a job because they're yelling at you, it is probably because there aren't enough beds and dining chairs in the house. I had that happen to me a dozen times and then I finally realized that there were more sims living in the house than there were beds. So be mindful of how many sims live there. After I started adding beds, I started getting great reviews.
-Also, don't save during this process or you lose the entire job. That might also be why you can't tell them you're done.

23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 03, 20:46:46
LOL...my TS2 start time was around an hour and a half at one point. I used to start up the game before we sat down for dinner, clear the table, select my hood, put my daughter to bed, and after all that wait just a few more minutes for it to load. Ha! I can deal with 2 minutes.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 03, 14:56:33
Yes, I'm a dumbass. I forgot to put "on" after "buydebug". AM's config file has me spoiled.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 03, 13:31:52
It takes longer to load the game. It used to take y whole game 20 seconds to start, now it takes around 2 minutes with my cc in the EA sanctioned mods folder.

I'm here to ask whether "buydebug" was part of AM or the regular game? I can't remember, but I recall people with unmodded games talking about it.
