1  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted - Realistic Sickness on: 2008 September 14, 18:36:42
I scanned it yesterday, and hackdiff reported it as clean. But I haven't played any ill Sims since installing AL, so I can't confirm it's working correctly.

Have you enabled custom content?

Yeah there probably is some level of corruption but if it's not affecting my game play, I can ignore it.

Invisigoth's post showed up as I was tying my reply, but I want to second what she said. In my experience, TS2 bugs often don't affect gameplay immediately. For example, problems I had in the past included one Sim having a corrupted memory, which spread through the neighborhood as gossip, and I did not realize it was a problem until numerous Sims were "infected" with the bad memory. If you are concerned that there is corruption in your neighborhood, you are better off taking the time to fix it NOW when your neighborhood is smaller rather than later when it is larger. If your neighborhood is relatively small, it might not be a bad idea to take the time to clone the Sims you are attached to and start a new neighborhood. You can use SimPE to re-establish the family ties of the Sims you cloned. I believe there are tutorials in Peasantry on how to do this.

My advice is to look at the hacks available on this site and install all the critical and (very) important fixes. If you have not done so already, do take the time to delete the extra tour guides. You can also use the lot debugger to perform periodic game maintenance, such as deleting neighborhood gossip and clearing memories from dead Sims.

I never would have thought moving an occupied lot would damage things. Seems very irresponsible of EA to not warn you about that while you're doing it.

Yes, that is quite an understatement. I would go a step farther and say that it is moronic of EA to include a feature that is so obviously broken.

Squinge was a prolific modder at insimenator.net, but he's since retired from modding.

His section at sims2graveyard.com is here. I think the file you're looking for is "autoclearcrush&loveep4v1.01.rar ".

Edit: As the file name implies, the link above is for the Pets version of the mod. I have no idea if there was a pre-Pets version. I don't think the mod had to be updated for Seasons. I checked the file with hackdiff utility for BV compatibility (using the Seasons->BV diff), and it showed up as clean. (So it is probably BV compatible, but I haven't installed BV yet, so I can't say for sure.)

How is hack EP compatibility checked?  I'd like to run all of the ones I have installed through.

Download the hackdiff utility posted in The Bowels of Trogdor. The actual diffs are also posted in TBoT; you can browse the threads to find the particular diff(s) you need. twojeffs posted the Seasons Patch 2 -> BV diff here.

I experienced the same thing as magicmoon: a sim was dancing to the piano, and the popup stated that he gained creativity. I didn't think to check his stats before he started dancing (I didn't realize he was dancing...). However, afterward, he had 3 creativity points and 1 body point. The dancing sim was a child, and I'm pretty sure he hadn't been doing much, if any, other body skilling (making it likely he really did gain a body point). For certain, he hadn't been swimming, although I just realized he could've danced to the stereo in the past. *shrug* I'll try to keep an eye on the dancin' foolssims.

There's also a section for Christianlov's stuff at The Sims2 Graveyard.

Will this cause any conflicts with twojeffs' "No Pet Obsession"?

Paladin's hack conflict detector over at SimWardrobe.com reports a conflict. (CT - Generic Test - Pet Is Eligible?)

update/edit: twojeffs discusses it here.

Re: Gardening & fun:
Additionally, sims who have a greater interest in the environment will gain fun (>= 500).  I was possibly thinking of adding Fortune Aspiration sims too... since they tend to get obsessed with buying up a whole bunch of plants and garden related crap, if you happen to trigger that want tree.  I'm open to other suggestions as well.  I wasn't sure what other characteristics of a sim could be used to determine whether they have fun gardening or not.

What about having active sims (e.g. 6 or 7/10) gain fun, or perhaps having lazy sims (<= 3)  loose fun at a particularly rapid pace?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can the horrible werewolf walk be fixed? on: 2007 April 30, 01:30:15
Just to stay on topic, I think that somewhere, someone, a long time ago made a fix for the Uni-walk that a lot of people hated.  It might have been on MTS2, but I'm not sure because it did not interest me.  It might be worth it to check.

Do you mean the Young Adult Walk & Lazy Animations Fixes? It's TwoJeffs'.

noassignmentlitter appears to be part of the Director's Cut, in the 'moreawesomethanyou.zip' files under the
Seasons dir, the Pets dir, etc.
