101  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 March 20, 03:25:23
Izarc reported Lot 24 as corrupted and gave me the option to exit the procedure to extract the file.

That's no problem waiting until Part 2 is re-uploaded because I think it is worth the wait to get this gem.

Looking at that picture, looks like 2 or three lots were squashed together behind the Goths' house AND facing the wrong direction with the mailbox and garbage can away from the street, and I thought the Goths' house (if left intact and not moved elsewhere in PV) was sitting in the middle of a large block in PV with no streets on either side.
102  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 March 20, 01:29:45
I just downloaded all three parts from here first and used Izarc to extract them. The extraction failed on Part 2 with the corruption of Lot 24.

So, I deleted all three parts I downloaded from here and went to your site to download the other set of three parts and encountered the same problem with Lot 24. It is just that lot that's become corrupted.

I've tried several times with no success. The Part 2 file is corrupted.

I can only hazard a guess that they had no problems because they already have all three parts from before this set was uploaded in the post a few posts above and not in the OP.

Thank you and Tamha (and others involved) for doing this fantastic job with the project. Really appreciate the time, patience and effort put into this idea similar to HP's. I only hope that the Lot 24 issue can be resolved if somebody is able to. I am not sure what Lot 24 is exactly.
103  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Go to finals broken on: 2008 December 29, 17:47:34
I am also having the exact same problem with the apthack mod too, and the current version was dated the 20th of December.

When the YAs were supposed to go to their finals, one of them threw an error similar to the error log attached to the thread. If I direct them to go to their finals (2 hours before the exams), they will go to their finals. But an hour before their exams, the affected YAs popped back onto the lot. I had to send them off to their finals again. That was when the error log was generated.

I dug deeper into the mod to see what was going on and saw one node (Node 29) in the Sub - Process BHAV missing an argument (with empty operands). I assumed this was when the YAs were supposed to be sent to their finals. There were two other errors contained in the log, but I am guessing that those two errors stemmed from that particular node in that BHAV. This is just what I am guessing.

The workaround is to direct them to go to their finals until we're told what to resolve.

And my YAs were going to their classes and finals from a normal residential lot in the normal hood.
104  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Updated Monique's Cheap Computer (FreeTime) - No Longer Available on: 2008 October 01, 06:18:31
I have to say something here after I've read the comments in this thread since the last post I made recently.

Monique has been and still is MIA from the Sims 2 community, and the lack of a policy to accompany her work did not imply she has or has NOT given permission for her work to be improved upon with new features and fixes to allow players to continue enjoying the new features and fixes on her work that had been a very important contribution to the community. I waited a long while to see if she would update her work for FT and double-checked to see if she has any restrictions or policies in place to dictate how she wanted her work to be redistributed or recolored. When I started working on my own version(s) of her work(s) to add two new badges originally, I intended for this to be my own work and had no plans to release the newly updated work. I came across a snag in SimPE and posted the issue in the forums at SimPE's site, I had people ask if I intend to release the newly updated work or not. I had people tell me how sorely they miss not having these computers for FT and then AL. What do I do? I uploaded them for people to enjoy with their FT and AL EPs. With a policy to be contacted for permission to upload anywhere else beside the site I uploaded to and to be contacted about any improvements to the work I've done as well to Monique's work. The reason I have one for all of the versions I worked and improved upon is because if people download the adaptations of the work I've done from other sites, and if I get contacted about some botched job with the computer(s) based on the features and fixes I added, then who do I know to contact to relay the issues to? If Zizismommy contacted me beforehand for permission to upload her version of the work I've done in addition to the computer meshes and textures she did, THEN I would know who to contact if someone came to my threads at Insim with an issue thinking I was the one who released the computer that person downloaded to use.

The credit had been given to Monique, the explanation had been given to why the computers were updated, and the effort to reach her did not succeed. You know, I would've asked her for permission to update her computers IF she was still in the community, but she hasn't been heard from since October 2007. No one had been able to reach her for quite a bit of time. No emails, no posts, no nothing. There was no way I could contact her if no one else had been able to either.

If you want to discuss intellectual rights, you are welcome to discuss them all you want. I try not to get myself involved with these issues regarding people's mods/creations, intellectual rights, legal ownership of the digital works using the tools provided by Maxis-then-Eaxis and God Knows What Else. I don't profit from any of the work I do money-wise.

I go to your mod/creation on your thread/site to download something I can enjoy in my game and only my game, and why have I chosen your mod/creation over someone else's mod/creation is because I prefer your mod/creation to someone else's for the way I play my game. If I know you're actively involved in the community and actively updating your mods/creations and if I have issues with or ideas for your mods/creations, I try to find a way to contact you for help or questions whether they be in forums on the sites you host or frequent or in PMs to the sites I think you're on more than other sites.

I did everything I could to ensure I gave Takasim2005 (for his laptop after I had his permission via private email), Monique and happygolucky (recolors) the proper credit for their works, the links to their original threads, the statements about their works and the support I try to provide not only for her work but mine as well. I tried to at least check her threads to see if she returned or not. The day she returns will be the day I ask her for permission to continue hosting the updated computers for future generations of players to enjoy if they choose not to play Sims 3. If she preferred not for me to continue hosting them, then I will take them off the site where I am hosting them at.

I would have been what you would describe as a new generation of Sims 2 players if I did NOT give Takasim2005, Monique and happygolucky credit for their works, claimed the work as wholly my own work and uploaded my work to a pay site so I could make a bit of money myself.

But I am not that Sims 2 player.

Bastdawn, are you Monique's representative? Do you know when she'll be back or not? Do you know some special way to get in touch with her? If you answer no to all of the questions, then don't tell me to get over this crap. Don't tell me how I should conduct myself. I don't jump all over you with sophomoric comments like what you've said in your post. How I want to do the updates and new features on Monique's original works and how I want to be acknowledged/contacted/credited for what I've done is is my own business, not yours.
105  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Updated Monique's Cheap Computer (FreeTime) - New Fixed/Final Version Available on: 2008 September 30, 02:20:29
I had not been contacted by the person who ran that thread about uploading the FT version of MQ's computer there. I suggest having the link removed because I do have a policy about both FT and AL versions of MQ's Computer/Laptop Variety being uploaded elsewhere.

BTW, the newly updated AL and FT versions are located at Insimenator. I moved my threads to Squinge's Mods where they will be updated by me and handled on a daily basis.

The old computer is no longer available or needed in this thread.
106  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Updated Monique's Cheap Computer (FreeTime) - New Fixed/Final Version Available on: 2008 September 01, 16:43:01
This computer was originally a beta version for FreeTime. The complete version for FT is at Insiminator. I plan to upload the complete version of Monique's Cheap Computer in a little bit. I forgot about replacing the computer until someone reminded me.  Grin
107  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: AL Compatibility - Hackdiff FTp3 -> ALp0 on: 2008 August 29, 14:51:16
All right. Just that I don't recall using Numenor's SEP after I started using your mods for more spots on the furniture. This was strange. Thanks for the help to figure out what caused the object to float in the air.
108  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: AL Compatibility - Hackdiff FTp3 -> ALp0 on: 2008 August 29, 07:36:52
Hi, I figured I should post here about an issue with one of the mods because I did not see the counter-based mod listed here as clean or not. Netmicro's mod showed as clean when I ran Hackdiff with the AL diff file provided from this site. I also provided a screenshot to show what I am talking about.

Scenario:

I had one of my two Playable Sims visit the other Playable Sim. He went in to visit with her and this is what I saw ingame. BUT when I went back into that lot to see if the countertop was causing the problem or not. The countertop was where it should be. No invisibility issues.

I chuckled at that coffee maker floating in the air. There's plenty of magic in the air! Levitation rules.

I appreciate help figuring out which mod was doing this so I can remove it until there's an update for it.
109  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Gunmod's Radiance Light System 2.3 beta 1.5 on: 2008 August 23, 20:09:42
I played a little this morning after I installed the mod and changed the lines in my userstartup file. I liked how the lighting appeared and worked ingame.

There is one thing I am primarily concerned with. The sealed rooms (without windows, glass doors or archways) are still too dark to see the objects contained within during the daytime. I was aware that the lighting was adjusted to make those rooms a little brighter, but these rooms are not bright enough to distinguish the objects easily.

The other thing is the colors used for the dawn/dusk periods. I was surprised to see a nice golden hue added to the lighting for the fall. A really nice look to make that season feel more like Fall. But Winter didn't feel like Winter with the golden hue added to the lighting during the dawn/dusk periods. I think a light bluish-pink hue (with less or almost no golden hue) would make Winter look slightly bleak and more cold in the morning and in the evening.

Great updates once again. I look forward to the next update if this will be made again for AL.
110  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Gunmod's Radiance Light System 2.3 beta 1.5 on: 2008 August 23, 15:04:59
Great update! I will check out the new changes later ingame and see how they looked.

That is absolutely fantastic! I never thought about using aquariums for that sort of room. Hmm sharks..... Would be useful to recreate a beach with sharks to micmic JAWS!  Grin

I think I will do a commerical lot later.
112  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: August on: 2008 August 14, 05:37:43
@ Witch:  Cheesy I want to see your house when you're done! These types of houses are my favorite and they reminded me of the times I lived in California and Florida. There were alot of stucco houses with varying themes, but there are always a handful of houses with Southwestern themes peppering the neighborhoods here and there. Unfortunately, Maxis didn't offer more varying themes to really satisfy us who liked to create Tex-Mex, Oriental, Morrocan, African and general-themed homes and businesses to add ethnic flavor to our neighborhoods. There aren't very many good stucco colors to use ingame, nor were there more complete sets of furniture to at least give our homes an unique look!

Is there a limit to how many houses/businesses we can enter for this?

Edit:

I didn't know about that issue with hot tubs and roofs. I placed the hot tub (like the one featured on the patio with the stucco house) on the roof of one dorm, and my Sims had no problems using it, nor did they think there was no roof. BUT if the issue does happen with the hot tub on the patio, just replace it with a standalone hot tub.

Those are beautiful lots I've seen so far! Great jobs!

@Emma: My goodness, that's a lot of bathrooms packed into a tiny lot! Still, a very beautiful house.  Smiley

@Jim: That would be a great home business for my Sim to run and meet "potential" customers.  Grin

@Mamainred: Beautiful house for sure! Just one detail I saw with this house. The original exterior walls in the front looked like they were deleted. (The walls that formed the T and the two small front rooms - former kitchen and bathroom). Other than that detail, the house looked great.
114  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: August on: 2008 August 13, 12:47:28
This is my 2nd makeover of the house for August. I used the flattened lot from this thread for my 2nd house. This lot has a "Southwestern" theme with palm trees, terracotta tiles throughout most of the house and light stucco colors inside and out.

I'm tempted to come up with my own version of this house after I saw all these gorgeous houses! Great job, everyone!

Will try my hand later tonight.

Thank you for the reply. I will put Marhis' alarm clock mod back into my game.
118  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: More Decorative Slots for Maxis Furniture (Updated 2008/07/28) on: 2008 August 01, 19:25:56
Great stuff here! More spots for me to stuff things on.

I'm wondering if this mod will conflict with marhis's mod to place alarm clocks on coffee tables? If you're curious where I got it from, marhis posted this one at MTS2 awhile back, and it's called marhis-alarmclocks. It worked fine with FT, but I wanted more options to place objects on surfaces of the furniture ingame, but marhis' mod is the only one besides Numenor's Slot Enabler mod I use to place alarm clocks on low coffee tables. So, I am wondering if your mod will enable me to place them on coffee tables?
119  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Slower Aspiration Benefits in Freetime. on: 2008 July 17, 23:41:44
No problem! The LTA milestones are big achievements in the lives of these Sims. When they achieve something important like a First Kiss, First Woohoo and whatnot, they earn points from those milestones and spend them in their LTA window to gain benefits to improve themselves.
120  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Slower Aspiration Benefits in Freetime. on: 2008 July 17, 12:26:25
I came back to let you know that there is a problem with the mod. At first the aspiration meter is progressing just fine but when my Sim does earn an LTA point to spend, he doesn't get that point at all. For example, my Sim had a baby for the first time, but he didn't get the point although his LTA meter progressed. I looked at the LTA window and saw that he had no point from having the baby for the first time. I checked his points and LTA milestones with Pescado's Lot Debugger, and the "Get Child" option is greyed out.

This is an issue that needs to be looked at to be sure that the Sims are actually earning their points and slowing their LTA meters down considerably so they don't earn those points too quickly. The meter progressed slowly just fine but the Sims are missing their points they earned.
121  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Riverbay Lodge on: 2008 July 17, 06:40:08
This is absolutely beautiful! *Downloads*

I really liked the "outdoorsy" feel to the lot with trees, ponds and gardens. I'm looking forward to your next idea for your poor sim family. By the way, that cat must be very loaded with simoleans!
122  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Slower Aspiration Benefits in Freetime. on: 2008 July 16, 08:16:55
I am still checking the mod on a normal lot to see how fast the LTA meter progress and how fast the Sims are gaining points to spend. So far the meter progressed normally but I haven't played a family long enough to see more results from this mod yet. I will get back when I can.
123  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: [Work in progress] Polygamy or marriage of convenience on: 2008 July 16, 08:14:26
The question about moving in would hopefully only come up if it was relevent.

As in related sims already living on different lots. Okay, I'll look into it when you have it up and ready for that part of testing.
124  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: [Work in progress] Polygamy or marriage of convenience on: 2008 July 16, 04:17:37
Won't the options counteract against Pescado's Marriage-Traditional mod? This mod allows the same-sex couples to retain their last names as well as new wives taking on their husbands' last names regardless of who initiated the marriage proposal.

Okay, I see that the "no move-in" option would be added. How does this work? I'm not sure if this is useful because then the siblings would already be living on the same lot when one of them initiates the marriage proposal.
125  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: [Work in progress] Polygamy or marriage of convenience on: 2008 July 15, 19:01:32
Heh! Instant lust would be alot of fun though!

Okay, that was a bit odd. The beds that came with Ikea Stuff Pack weren't working right then. The Try For Baby option did show up when I sent them to one of the nice looking beds from Ikea, and when I clicked on that option, the cue just disappeared from the queue.

All righty! The mod works fine as intended. Is there anything else you want us to break test for you?
