I don't know, but Pescado's Asp Recharger has a function built in that keeps people from jumping into your love tub uninvited, thus wasting its' charge. It hasn't been updated for Nightlife, but works fine all the same (just doesn't deal with the new NL objects obviously). Haven't heard of anything similar with the normal hot tubs, though.
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightmare scenarios. on: 2005 November 26, 21:47:59
You suck, and also, you need the Fire Mod, which suppresses the urge to run back into the fire to scream at it. Plus if your sims have seen enough fires, instead of spazzing on sight, they'll automatically put it out.

And does it work with NL?

Pleasesayyespleasesayyespleasesayyes (as long as you actually mean, it obviously)
53  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 13:49:09
but the idea is if you're gonna be right back, it's generally cuz you need a bathroom break - noone leaves the computer for much of anything else.

*moans in horror*

Oh, you savage Americans. Next you'll be telling us you don't even drink tea.
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: get that dormie out of my bed! on: 2005 November 26, 11:24:13
Heh. I kinda like it. If they go to sleep in my room, I move a noisy stereo in with them until they get up, then lock my door. I've also made a little cell out of one room in the dorm that they all claim as their own, then just stuck normal, non-lockable doors on all the rooms so they can sleep there.
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: get that dormie out of my bed! on: 2005 November 26, 10:53:06
It's Pescado's No uni invulnerability hack that does it. Wink
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about collections on: 2005 November 24, 20:54:16
Pretty tedious stuff, but it's doable.

Edit: Is this actually what you're asking?
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fix Request: Peein' Klaus on: 2005 November 24, 19:59:12
OK, and the Halloween decorations, which also are not behaving themselves.

Uh, you do know those are free already, right?

And that if you thought they were lame the first time round, you've no way of getting rid of them now!
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Ultimate Sims Wedding on: 2005 November 24, 17:52:39
Somebody at MTS2 made a hack that lets you throw a party on a community lot. I've never used it, since I like to dictate when the wedding starts *and* ends, and don't have much truck with the timed scenario thingy that goes with it. I'm not sure how it handles the honeymoon limo, but it might be an interesting addition to the comm. lot stuff.
59  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Uni Invulnerability For Dormies on: 2005 November 24, 17:46:48
Heh heh heh - I left a flamingo on the lawn hoping they could use it to get their fun up, and only one dormie ever kicks it, and even then she only does something like once a semester. I put a swingset out for them as well, but forgot I also had Pescado's nobogartswings hack, so they don't use it at all. I should maybe take that out sometime.

I don't really use instruments, learned not to long before this hack came out. Might be worthwhile adding them again, since they won't use them day and goddamn night anymore.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Ultimate Sims Wedding on: 2005 November 24, 17:38:05
I add TJs static energy sculpture to the home lot to stop them all falling asleep by 3PM, firstly. Get everybody washed up and fed in the morning, phone a taxi to take them to church. Get them all changed into their formal gear (using TJs' no maxis-default wedding gear hack, of course), pack them into the taxi.

Off they go to church, make somebody give a speech with the teleprompter, have somebody else play the "organ" (piano) for a bit, send them outside to the scenic garden bit. Start off some toasts and so on. Then it's time for the Big Moment! They do their stuff at the arch, everybody sits and watches (except for the stupid townies still loitering with the toasting set and piano), then they go off to the function room, where there's eventhorizon's community buffet (MTS2) table and a wedding cake waiting for them. Nobody cares about the cake-cutting like they do IRL, but I have the bride and groom do it all the same. Obviously the nasty greedy townies fall over themselves to get to the cake once it's cut.

Now we've got the slow dance interaction with NL, there'll be a point to having a bigger function room with a dancefloor, where they can dance the whole night away (and not need to worry about passing about because of TJ's nifty running man!). Then once I've taken about a hundred different pictures, I send them off home.

Some pictures of the wedding of Lucy Burb and Meadow Thayer (I always seem to end up with lesbian couples, I've no idea why  Huh )

Anyway, John Burb mincing about Lucy's lovely dress: johndress.jpg

Hooray for Lucy! Isn't she smashing? Nobody raised a single toast to Meadow, and I don't know why: hurrah.jpg

At a completely different wedding, Dustin Broke pee'd himself. Should have remembered to add a loo when I built the venue, oops: /dustinpee.jpg
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: general weirdness - ideas? on: 2005 November 24, 12:55:51
Since installing NL, I've had sims visit that won't leave at all. I haven't had any parties, so I don't know if it's connected, but sims that are brought home from work will just hang around for days on end, sleeping in my sims' beds, playing with their stuff, wandering around in their pants...

Very disturbing. Could be related.
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Holiday X-mas Pack - Is it worth it? Please report all bugs and "issues" her on: 2005 November 24, 11:50:18
I'm remembering something really vague from CS Lewis's Narnia stuff.

What was the one with the giants? And Puddleglum the marshwiggle? There was a giant sleeping underground or something in that one, IIRC, and maybe called old father time or something. Oh, I dunno. It's been a long time since I read the Narnia books.

Rrrright. How extremely odd. Is this an american (or other foreign) thing that we poor Brits don't get, then?

Will somebody please explain this Father Time thing, because I've only seen it referred to a handful of times and I don't really understand. Nice, small words with colour pictures, please. New Year Toddler?

Help!

ps: gotta agree about the dancing snowman, he's too funny.
65  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Uni Invulnerability For Dormies on: 2005 November 24, 09:44:42
I pulled the hack out of my d/l folder, as I said before.  Without the hack the dormies have stopped the endless cycle of "get book out - sit & research - instantly stop - put book on floor - get book out - repeat - repeat - repeat, etc".  So the behaviour was caused either by the hack itself or the hack is conflicting with another hack I have.

I don't think it's a conflict as such - just general dormie ineptness. Under normal circumstances they'd just take out a book and never get up off the sofa again (I've had dormies that spent their whole time in college doing this before). Now they try to research, but find it isn't fun enough, so want to stop right away, and then decide they want to research, "oh, but it's no fun", etc.

Perhaps an update to make researching non-autonomous for the little beggars? If it's possible.

What triggers him to come? The cookies? Don't bake 'em.

But how can he leave you coal if he comes and there's no cookies? Do you make them and then snarfle them all before he gets there?
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's begun... on: 2005 November 23, 12:05:18
factor in the three strings of lights as being a recolor of the same string

This is intolerably annoying. They've got those frosty window panes as well, and instead of just making the frosty glass a recolour of the windows that are there, they've just stuck in new meshes with the frosty crap on them. So my catalogue is now clogged with even more crap. I don't want to have to scroll through shitloads of thumbnails to find something I want, so I delete anything that's custom-made that does that crap - but I can't delete it when Maxis do it.

Gah.
68  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Uni Invulnerability For Dormies on: 2005 November 23, 11:57:42
The dormies used to do that to me even before this hack, because they're filthy slobs.

I solved this problem by spawning the Sim Modder and changing all their neat points to max. It's not very student-like, but it does mean you're able to move around. It doesn't stop them with the OCD research, but they do put their book back on the shelf instead of leaving it lying at their ass.
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dr Boris sighted! on: 2005 November 22, 22:59:18

Dr. Boris in NZ, you say? I was certain he had turned up tonight at work, when a stranger in a Russian hat poked his head through the kitchen window and demanded we give him the exact time.  Huh

Did he threaten to have you shot, though?
70  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Uni Invulnerability For Dormies on: 2005 November 22, 19:57:30
At least I finally stuck in some tweaks of my own so that the dormies aren't Always gallavanting around in their freakin bathing suits. You set one hot tub on the roof, and Every sim and their mother has to sit in it and relax. And they never put on their regular clothes back! I know it's college, and you can pretty much wear whatever you want, but jeez, have some sense of decency. Roll Eyes At least now I don't have dormies constantly going to class in their bikinis or swim trunks and bare feet. Roll Eyes

Who did the hack that stopped non-playables from wasting all your Love Tub charge? I think it's bundled with Pescado's asp recharger mod. I only ever use the love tub because then *I* can decide when people are allowed to sit in *my* hot tub, instead of everybody just deciding to plonk themselves in it when I want a free space for a controllable sim. I don't know anybody with a hot tub IRL, but if I did, I wouldn't just go and stick my fat ass in it as soon as I walked in their door for god's sake. Especially if I'd only just met them.

My dormies stand around uselessly a lot more, too. Not sure why - it's maybe because sans-hack they go and research or play the drums for three semesters at a time, and with the hack they have to use the toilet and eat and stuff instead. And sometimes don't really need to do anything, so just stand around vacuously.
71  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Uni Invulnerability For Dormies on: 2005 November 22, 19:29:41
All I have to say is make sure your dorm room is locked if you install this.  I've caught quite a few dormies sleeping in my bed.   Angry

On the other hand I'm seeing all sorts of desperation icons popping up over their heads now.  One had a bladder desperation.  But saddly he didn't pee himself.   Sad

Yeah, I noticed the bed-hogging as well. Even the cow mascot comes and sleeps in my bed when nobody even invited the evil sod into my house, nevermind my bed. I'm going to make a special dormie pen, where all the dormie's doors lead to the same tiny room where they can go and disappear whenever they want - then I'll put beds for them in normal rooms and lock my door.

I'd never had a dormie death accidentally before I installed this, btw - I just noticed when I zoomed out that somebody was curled up at the very edge of my lot. And they pee themselves ALL the time now, which is nice, but it means the maid goes into their rooms to clean up their puddles then gets locked in for days.

Some amusing college pictures below (the third dormie is being punished in a cell for her constant fighting):

Ah well. It's worth $5, so I figure I bought three of them...and I can only use one.

It means you're a kind soul who bought a copy each for BlueSoup and myself along with yours. You're so sweet! :pinchescheeks:
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Food Menus on: 2005 November 19, 23:04:08
I just want my fridges to work on Comm lots again. I only want a bag of cookies, dammit, not an a' la carte restaurant with 3 npcs and swanky serving plates. Add a juice bar and I've usually got twice as many NPCs as townies plus playable characters. Been meaning to ask if anybody had found out how to enable them to work again.

And I'm really disappointed that Maltesh's hack-free restaurant idea stopped working with NL as well. And that you can't put wedding cakes on lots that have a restaurant because the stupid waiter puts them in the bin.  Roll Eyes
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 19, 11:05:31
...and noticed there were three GIANT elf hats with silly ears attached to them. Pretty funny, didn't know the game came with those.

I've looked all over for those and can't find them! Didn't know about the ears...ew. Two are shown on the "packaging" the CD came in, but they don't appear to have made it into my game. Santa's hair/hat are there, as is the female (Mrs. Claus, I guess) version, so it's not a thumbnail problem.

 Huh

They came up as an option for Angela Pleasant when I wanted her to wear a Santa hat.

I'm not liking this age and sexual discrimination, you know. Why shouldn't a teenaged girl be able to wear a santa hat? Why shouldn't a toddler? Wtf?
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a way to change townie's clothes in nightlife? on: 2005 November 19, 00:29:54
Thanks Vector!  Will give it a shot.  Ummmmmm.........when you say "bin' the NPC's, I guess you mean chuck 'em, right?  Tongue Sorry, I'm not the brightest lantern on the patio.  I need a little hand-holdin' sometimes.

Yep, you can chuck every file in the starter pack if you only want the outfit changer.

Btw, the COA doesn't work on NPCs - that takes more mucking about.
