TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The patch ruined my game

It actually doesn't matter which bodyshop you run, as the registry overrides make sure only the last version (ie NL) is loaded. You can launch NL by clicking the original sims2.exe.
That wasn't the case for me - I was tearing my hair out back when University was released because Bodyshop decided it didn't want to work properly anymore - I'd only have something like three items of clothing in each category (three everyday adult female outfits, one adult male undies, three elder male everyday etc). Custom clothes wouldn't load, although custom makeup and hair etc would, and even most of the maxis stuff was invisible. Pain in the ass, and I couldn't figure out for the life of me why it was broken. Eventually I discovered another version of Bodyshop in my University directory and used that instead - and it all worked perfectly again.

Does crammyboy's eat-your-food-and-stfu-already hack have any kind of hairiness with pescado's noeatcrap? How do they differ in the overeating aspect? Should I swap or have them both? Oooh, it's so hard to decide...
TIA
Crammyboy updated his where they will only eat spoiled food if they are some degree of sloppy or very hungry. Pescado's noeatcrap is not compatible with NL as of this time. Reports say that it removes some interactions that are only available while sitting (they have the chair icon by them while your sim is eating at a table). EDIT: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=94886Hey, cool. I'd been using pescado's noeatcrap even though it wasn't officially compatible - you know how it is when a particular behaviour drives you absolutely insane and you'll do almost anything to get rid of it. This looks like a good one. Thanks!

Ever since the outcry over the "we don't think we need to release a University patch. It's a very open game, and is difficult to test" thing a few months back, I've noticed large numbers of BBSers repeat it incessantly. Bug reports? "Don't you know teh game is reeeelly hard to test? YOU try testing it and see how hard it is, meanie". Enquiries about patches? "Teh game is very open and its too hard to test everything, stfu already about it and reinstall your game".

I just wish they could programme it so a sim on the phone for a long time would go and lounge on a chair or sofa while chatting! Isn't that what people do?
No, no. Absolutely not. All normal people spend several hours talking on the phone while wandering around - 'tis abnormal behaviour to wish to be comfortable while yakking on the blower. Obviously. Seats are for wimps!

This is very strange - the cheering is definitely still going on (although the hack took care of that, no immediately discernable problems btw). I've only tested one house, though. I'm also being plagued by the A+ spam, but I'm not sure if NL was supposed to fix that or not - and I've got a teen who should be an overachiever, having been promoted to the top and gained his first A+, but no overachiever memory appears for him or anybody else in the family. PS: The new version of the DMA COA also changes turn ons/offs for townies.

In UNi and the base game there is no option to "join", you select "call" - "sim" and when they pick up the phone a box pops up asking if you want to join the call.
wtf! I've never seen this. A sim needs to Call - Sim while another sim is on the phone, then?

What would happen is that if an adult tried to join a call started by a teen, the call would implode instead for no really good reason. Now it will ask you if you want to join, and only when you say "No" will the adult perform the "Get off the phone!" shout.
Hmm. Can only certain age groups participate in these calls? I ask this because I spent about 15 minutes clicking aimlessly on various characters while somebody was on the phone in a dorm, and could see no option for joining at all. Idiot's guide, somebody?

Has anybody mentioned the cooking skill bug yet? You know, the one where a sim with maxed cooking skill gets a chance card from work that gives them two more cooking skill points, then they go senile and forget how to cook?
This happened to me for the first time ever just a minute or two ago, and I immediately thought of this thread.

"Now possible for teen to introduce adults to callee: No longer strangely shouted at unless join is declined."
I'm intrigued. Is this to do with some function that allows multiple sims in a household to yap down the phone at a sim on the other end? A conference call sort of thing? And pre-shiny-phonehack teens were lectured if they asked an adult to join?

I've got all the same hacks you have, but none of the problems, so I'm not sure it's hack related either. The disembodied head thing is rare enough for it to not really be much of a problem. Your being unable to change appearances is unusual, I've never heard of it before. If it's lot-specific, all I can suggest is moving out the last remaining sim and bulldozing the lot. If the problem stalks your sims to their new homes, I can't help.

Then you have to remember to cancel the "pose for portrait" action or your painter will just stand around for hours until his subject finishes doing whatever she was up to.
Like being at work, for instance. Grr. It didn't even occur to me to try using the mouse wheel for fixing the top-down view. Ta muchly!

Same thing happens to me if I'm buying clothes on a residential lot, and also sometimes when I use Pescado's clothes picker. I've heard of it happening to other people as well, but never of a solution.
Are all outfits showing the same amputated model, or are some normal? And are you buying on a community lot?

There IS an alternative, which you may or may not find interesting.
You could create a lot in your normal neighbourhood, and rezone it to a dorm. Make it really awful looking. Fill it with the cheapest crap in the catalogue. Call it the Homeless Centre, or the Youth Hostel. Move him into that. Watch him struggle to pull himself from the gutter.

If you press the tab button, you can use the W, D, S and A keys to move around, and your mouse to look about. Another two keys move your view up and down, I think they're maybe Q and Z, but I'm not sure. It's a bit more flexible than the normal zoom and rotate. Press tab again to exit the first person view.
PS: I find when I use the first person view, if I don't point the camera up at the sky before exiting, I end up with the most useless almost top-down view. If your view goes funny from using the first person mode, just go back into it and look upwards before tabbing back out.

I've gone to uni classes in my pyjamas before. While you're a student, you don't need to care about boring things like getting dressed. Think of all the time you waste taking clothes off and putting them on again - surely it's better to just wear pyjamas all the time?
I'd wear them to work if they didn't insist on uniforms.

I'm sticking to the one I have!
I wish I had, as well. Too many strange errors about .net stuff not being installed when it damn well is. Only reason I installed the new version was because the one I had pulled its' "oh god! There's something terribly wrong with me and I can't open! You'll have to reinstall me again" thing that it likes to do. Off to sourceforge for an older version for me!
