26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this look right? Scoring attraction on: 2006 August 16, 22:11:16
I have a Family/Libra who comes up as a potential match for practically -everyone- in my neighborhood that I -ever- check using TwoJeffs gypsy matchmaker crystal ball thingamabob.
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: lot sync & college question on: 2006 August 04, 03:56:15
Thanks, Ancient Sim. I think I might actually try it your way.  It seems to be well thought out and have math behind it. *laughs* How can I go wrong?
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: lot sync & college question on: 2006 August 02, 17:10:57
I've generally accepted that one sim day equates to about a year. So, I was thinking the 2:1 sounded about right but wanted to ask and find out. Thanks.
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / lot sync & college question on: 2006 August 02, 06:23:54
I recently purged my neighborhoods and started over. This time I decided to try something I've never done before and *gasp* play -all- the families *gasps again* at the same time. I know, I know, radical isn't it. Anyway, so I downloaded the nifty lot sync thingamabob and so far so good. I was just about to send my first batch of teens off to college when I realized I don't know how long to play their parents and siblings back home to account for the "years" at college. What is the generally accepted amount of sim days you guys use? Thanks.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: a bank loan mod? on: 2006 July 30, 03:11:48
Ah. No. I just moved out hte family, successfully Smiley but the new Monique computer I bought for them (I didn't throw the older one into their inventory) did not remember the loan. At all.

Big bummer, as this is a no cheat family :/

I might just be stating the obvious here but if the husband took out the loan it won't show up as an option if you send the wife to the computer and vice versa. I've definitely moved house and had the loan follow me, so maybe there's hope for your no cheat family.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: hack request on: 2006 July 26, 22:53:49
It would be really cool if the sleep blanket properties could be incorporated into a toddler bed mesh.
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 13, 18:10:29
Hello my name is Meska and I am a micromanger.

Seriously. *laughs* My toddlers are constantly in front of a learning toy. My children get off the bus do their homework and then skill until bedtime with time taken somewhere along the line for parents to encourage the personality traits I find them lacking. No lazy or sloppy sims allowed! Upon reaching teen they are always given the Knowledge aspiration and nine times out of ten it rolls up the 'max out 7 skills' LTW. Which means they are perma-plat within a few days of turning teen and can then concentrate on achieving all the college scholorships. College is essentially friend-making camp since the sims already have all their skills. Changing aspiration to Popularity halfway through often rolls up another LTW based on number of friends which is so easily accomplished. Graduating with honors and about 25 bestfriends and sometimes a love-interest is standard. Etc etc etc. Even using the expensiveNPC and no20khandouts and harderjobs hacks and ignoring the use of aspiration rewards except for smartmilk there isn't much challenge left. There's been some interesting suggestions though in this thread maybe you won't be the only one to "get help" with their "problem" *laughs*
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Great Minds Needed! Help me name my new hood on: 2006 July 11, 21:17:24
I like the name -StormHaven- because it sounds so soap opera-ish.
I've used -Route66- or -Lost Highway- on a flat terrain with long straight roads.
-Missing Mile- is the name of a small town in some of my favorite books.

you should update rule #8 to reflect the no resurrection rule.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ponderings on free will on/off on: 2006 June 27, 23:41:05
There is a hack over at MTS2 made by user name Obtainchi that offers Individual Freewill.

36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Burninator Mod Request on: 2006 June 18, 22:15:11
wheee look at me resurrecting a thread that's nearly a year old. But see I was thinking about a smoking mod/hack last night and thought "hey why don't I search for a thread to see if its been discussed, before I just willynilly go posting one of my own". Yeh anywho... since it was nearly a year ago and JM already said the request would be ignored I don't have much hope of actually seeing this. Ah well. I still think it would be cool if something like this could be made and incorporate some kind of something that shortens the smoking sims lifespan... or if they spend too much time smoking they get 'sick' and use the hacking cough animations. *laughs* that would amuse me. In all reality I have trouble killing off sims by fire or drowning or whatnot so was thinking of more natural ways to get rid of the old boring top of their career all maxed skills stick them out in the back yard to mediate the rest of their life away sims quicker.

ha. silly me not looking for a thread like that and going to the specific hack I was interested in.

any idea if this is second patch compatible or not? I have to admit to being lazy with this question. I didn't do much more than have a teen currently enrolled in private school check to see if I had the option to call the school and quit. I didn't seem to have that choice but I may have just missed it.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Servo Death on: 2006 June 16, 02:25:25
I've stopped using Servos because I get bored with my sims but don't typically like to kill them off. Thus death by old age is a great and wonderful thing to me. In the past I had a Servo repair a broken sink without problem so I wouldn't think just mopping up puddles would be life threatening. It would be interesting to know what actually did in yours.

And as for Bella Goth... she does walk-bys like a typical townie in my game. I don't know how it happened. I had gone through and deleted all the townies that did not know any of the playable characters and then made my own townies using the transporter bush. I didn't think I touched her file in any way so was pretty surprised when I saw her go by the first time.

I know its been said over and over but I'm really looking forward to these. Every time you post new previews I just drool that much more.

Oh?! I've not been back to the SS Lot a second time. I'll have to check mine as well to see if that happens to me.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fully Outgoing Sim Moves In With Total Strangers on: 2006 June 08, 01:19:10
Wow! *laughs* that's funny. I have had fully outgoing sims come over and get naked in a complete stranger's hot tub and then walk naked into the kitchen to make themself a bowl of mac & cheese. That with the carpool is way more than I've ever seen before though!
43  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Secret Society Lot Lottery Fix (Experimental) on: 2006 June 07, 19:23:41
just to let you know... with only one uni attached your fix works perfectly for me. Thank you, its much appreciated. Oh and as for that not being awesome comment you made... you're awesome enough to have your own subfolder in my game. Just thought you might like to know. Thanks for patiently bearing with me before!

Well see. I should have followed my initial instinct and not said anything. After creating a clean fresh neighborhood and starting from scratch I finally managed to get the SS Abuduction scenerio to trigger again and the same thing occurred. Only... I had forgotten to put your hack back in. *blush* So whatever problem I have it is not related to your hack. So sorry for the trouble!
46  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Secret Society Lot Lottery Fix (Experimental) on: 2006 June 05, 23:00:47
It was definitely a brand new 'hood and the first abduction. I told you there could be other factors involved. Including the fact that its the 3-in-1 'hood which could be the problem in itself since I didn't know the SS Lot has to be created at the first abduction instead of just pre-existing. I'll try starting from scratch in a regular 'hood and see if that might be the problem.
47  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Secret Society Lot Lottery Fix (Experimental) on: 2006 June 05, 19:48:22
I hesitate to even say anything because I don't have an error log file or know how to go about getting that. I haven't done any further testing either. So basically I'm just blabbering on uselessly about what happened to me. Many things could have effected the outcome though this seemed like perhaps the most likely. Anyway everything appeared to be working as normal. The limo showed up. The SS Member got out and did the chicken dance and handcuffed my sim. My sim dutifully went and got into the limo. The load screen for the SS Lot showed up.... and then I was back at the dorm and my sim was getting out of the limo. I wrinkled my nose and thought 'Well darn maybe that's how its supposed to work and I'll just have to send my sim manually by calling transportation to go to the SS Lot'. However when I tried to phone there was no option to do so. I used testingCheats to "add to Secret Society" and only then was able to then get the option to call for transportation.

I have another student in the same lot that is friends with two of the SS Members. As soon as she is friends with the third I can do some sort of testing or get an error file or something if someone wants to be kind enough to tell me how to go about that. Or I could just take this particular hack out and see what happens. Anyway sorry for being unawesome about the way I report a potential problem.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This is why some sims just need to go... on: 2006 June 04, 04:19:47
aw... I don't know if that looks like the mother doesn't like the kid. looks to me more like she's clutching her diary to her chest and thinking "ack! she's trying to read my diary" *chuckles* I don't know if that warrents death plots.

edit: yeh... what ness said. ^.^
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NPC's on: 2006 June 02, 18:48:33
there is a non-awesome hack at MtS2 that gives you individual free-will. Just leave free-will off for the sims you do want to play and free-will on for those you want to just run amuck. *nods*

bah... as I was in the process of looking up the link to give you MtS2 went offline for maintenance. If I remember I'll try and look it up later and edit it in.

That's her tutorial on how to do it yourself. I followed it to trim down the universities and its pretty simple.
