Yes, this tutorial is to make servos look like regular sims or keep their custom NOT SERVO-SHAPED servo skins, nothing more.

I recommend going to the SimPE forum for that.

Where did I say I use Insim  Huh

Love your servo skins, by the way. Excellent work.

Edited because I clearly needed more coffee before posting. Thanks, seelindarun.

Normal.

The reaper will also go fix a drink if you have a bar. I had a reaper hang out at a party for a couple of hours when a sim on the lot died.

Fix'd.

You can change the skintone in SimPE under DNA, but not to a servo skin unless it is a normal skin with servo coloring. Otherwise, you just make the sim with the skintone you want before cloning.

Creating Custom Servos from existing meshes:

For Bender, HK-47, and HK-50, see files linked at the bottom of this post. I have already modified them. Make sure you grab the HK-47 mesh file that goes with the HK models.

Install your custom servo following these directions. In the case of Bender and the HK models, I will attach the modified files.

1. Open the Sims2pack with Clean Installer. Do NOT install the lot or family.

2. UNcheck Default Installation, select the Downloads folder, or create a specific folder and browse to it.
3. UNcheck Generate Sims2 Import File, change file extension to package.

4. Install.
5. Open SimPE, and navigate to Tools>Scan Folders

6. UNcheck everything except Caption and Clothing Scanner. Do not check Recursive.
7. Navigate to the correct folder, and scan.

8. Go to the Operations tab, scroll down to Set Ages, and select the appropriate outfit.
9. To be safe, I select Set Ages, select elder and deselect the rest, Set Ages again. Make sure the Formal and Everyday categories only are selected as well. Otherwise you will clutter up your catalog.

10. Close Sim PE.
11. Now, open your game. In CAS, select the headless skin, no hair at all, and the invisible eyes that B13nky made. Remove eyebrows. Make the sim an elder, and put him/her in the Bender outfit (or servo outfit of your choice) for Everyday and Formal.
Save the sim, and follow the directions above for cloning.

If you want your servos to slouch and act like elders, simply change their age to elder in SimPE in the Sim Description.

Use Sim Surgery in SimPE and clone from any existing LIVING elder. Once you have cloned one servo, you can clone them from each other.
I will make up a tutorial today.
That would be great, SimPE makes me nervous.

Creating Custom Servos

*This tutorial is to make servos look like regular sims or keep their custom NOT SERVO-SHAPED servo skins, nothing more.*

First, you need to make sure you have an active ("living") servo.

Second, you need a sim to clone from. There are two ways to do this:
   1. Use an existing elder, and when they are cloned, pick new clothes with Pescado's Clothing Tool.
   2. OR create one in CAS or Body Shop then CAS. The sim never needs to go beyond the Sim Bin to be cloned, so
they are easier to get rid of if you don't want them in your neighborhood. Follow the Deleted II tutorial.

I recommend using an elder clothing mesh that isn't old looking, unless you want that for some reason. I also recommend custom skins without elder wrinkles, and custom hair/eyebrows that aren't grey.

Exit your game.

Open the neighborhood in SimPE.

Go to Tools>Neighborhood>Sims Surgery

Select your servo for the Patient Sim. Select your elder for the Archetype Sim. Select "Surgery."

After the servo is cloned, SimPE will open its character file. Save the neighborhood and exit SimPE.

Now you have your custom servo next time you open your neighborhood. As you see, servo is an adult and does not hunch over like the elder it was cloned from.

Notes:

IF, for any reason, your sim reverts back (highly unlikely), simply have the servo change to formal and back.

If anyone is interested in learning how to make existing custom servos (such as Bender and the HK models at MTS2) that will stick, I will add that here, too. Added.

Update: Added the tutorial for fixing existing servo meshes in THIS POST.

And how do you do that, exactly?

Use Sim Surgery in SimPE and clone from any existing LIVING elder. Once you have cloned one servo, you can clone them from each other.
I will make up a tutorial today.

Go HERE for a good torrent program with instructions on how to use it.
Go HERE to get the uni edition, or HERE if you want to choose another uni version. There are directions on what you need and how to install and get the cd key. I used this version, and upgraded to legitimate Vista with it - no issues from M$ at all. I do not recommend installing SP3, but you can use Windows update.
Go HERE and put in your service tag number to get the correct drivers for your computer. As long as you are currently running Windows XP, there shouldn't be a problem.

After you have acquired everything and burned your drivers to one disk, and you have burned the iso properly (i.e. put it in the cd drive and restart your pc, if you get the "press any key to boot from cd" message, it is properly burned...just don't press anything and Windows will load normally), you want to make sure you have everything you want saved to disk.

NEXT: Make sure the XP cd is in the drive; restart your computer. Press any key to boot from CD when you get the message. Press F8 and agree to the license agreement. You WANT to install Windows. You WANT to verify that you want to install Windows even though you already have it. DO NOT WANT to repair. You will see a list of partitions. DELETE partitions. Yes, you really want to. Then you want to format the partition using the NTFS file system. Make sure you select the full format. Then it will install Windows after rebooting, and you can put your cd key in. Don't worry about activation going wrong because it won't. Don't worry about Windows Genuine Advantage, because this edition IS legit, it is just for students (unlimited licenses), so don't panic. Next, install your drivers for everything from the driver disk you made. Install any new Windows updates. You are then all set.

All you have to do to keep servos looking human is to clone them after an elder in SimPE. I have never had problems with them. They even keep their human appearance through game resetting and patching.

38  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: This is just weird on: 2008 November 08, 21:51:45
You have to scold them for peeing on the floor at least once. Go look at its learned behaviors panel. If the housebroken bar is red at all, that means they are prone to peeing in the house (generally by a kitchen table) until they have been scolded enough times (or praised enough times if they happen to pee in the litter box or outside), they will continue to pee on the floor. If there isn't a housebroken bar, the pet will only need to be scolded once or twice before they start using the litter box.

Gwill, Targa's invisible water (no bubbles) hack causes that. I had the same problem.
40  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: The game ate mah baby (and a bit of other weirdness). on: 2008 October 15, 13:26:26
This happened to me last night on an apartment lot. A baby was born the previous night and I saved and exited. When I loaded my game, no baby and the same memory you got. I am wondering if it is because it was the first save after the baby was born. Pescado said that partial saves might be an issue with disappearing sims in another thread. I will make more babies and experiment in my test hood.

I have found that zooming in until it is invisible and then zooming back out make them selectable. Works for those trees that get stuck, too.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uninstalled AL and now all of CC is gone! on: 2008 August 29, 22:02:58
For the record, I uninstalled AL today because it is way too buggy for my taste still. I replaced the cracked exe with the original prior. Very clean uninstall. I was rather surprised. Didn't leave and AL folder in Program Files/EA Games, did not leave registry entries, nothing. I added my FT hood back, and it has been running smoothly, as if nothing ever happened.

I didn't know that about Pets. You would think I would since I have done so many uninstall/reinstalls. Hm Tongue
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uninstalled AL and now all of CC is gone! on: 2008 August 29, 17:21:46
Uninstalling an EP has always deleted the downloads folder and saved games from my experience. Base game is the only one that asks if you want to keep your save games, as far as I know.
44  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 01:24:37
Shift-clicking on the apartment door in debug mode, I noticed a "rent furnished" option. Haven't tried it yet. Will tonight.

I have had 10 cellphones vanish, myself. I also saved an apartment lot with the sim outside the apartment, and when I played the other playable on the lot he seemed to be stuck outside his apartment and spent the entire time on the roof at the bar, pissed himself, and never went back into his apartment. Just stayed at the bar. I have not had any other issues that I can recall. I am sure I will, though Tongue

I just macro...concentrate when they study parenting.

Patch and no-cd crack here, working great so far. Have about 12 hours in.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FreeTime Patch Released on: 2008 April 02, 03:04:56
Well, the sheep over at the BBS are already complaining about patch bugs. Loads of install errors, and now apparently room service doesn't actually show up - but the sim gets charged for it. Go figure. That thing is not touching my game until (and if) it is fixed.
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FT - Hunt Bugs on: 2008 April 02, 02:09:58
So they made us wait 5 weeks before it could be completed due to their faulty coding, suggested in the game you get something special when it is completed, and then nothing happens.

They did the same thing with vacation mementos. I could have sworn it said something special would happen if you got them all, but no dice. They just like giving everyone blue balls - sadistic bastards.
